  1. I'm not addicted. There is nothing else to do where I live. The only thing within 15 miles of me is a run down general store and some Amish people.
  2. I do not believe this is an addiction. It is a hobby. You wouldn't say a football player who practices for 5 hours a day addicted would you? You wouldn't say someone who spends 8 hours a day training ballet addicted would you? You wouldn't call those who watch Nascar on TV addicts would you? There are several people who have physical disabilities which use video games as a way to escape their current world. As someone would go out and hang with their friends playing football outside, I play Wow with my friends inside. There is an excellent documentary called Second Skin which looks at some good points and bad points of video games. It shows the lives of three groups of people. There are people who obsess over certain things. These people already have certain problems before they play video games. That is pretty much all I have to say about video game "Addiction".

Today I started working on a web interface for a RPG game I am making. So far I can log in with a specific user and it lists the data which I manually entered such as character name, stats, playing time, and last connected from variables. I will probably spend most of the night finishing up the backbone then spend tomorrow creating a nice graphical interface.
  7. Will you please go back to RSOF? Explain why you think it is a "horrible" update. This update was a precursor for many more updates. Now, Jagex can create special items, such as high level armor and weapons which can raise your life points temporarily or during a specific time. You must look beyond the current appearance of the skill and look towards the horizon.
  8. The update is not even 12 hours old. Give it at least a month before you start making assumptions.
  9. They're not gonna release a skill before its ready just because some kids are having a little riot. At least i hope not. Plus they said they would not release the new skill before the double xp weekend.
  10. This is pretty neat. This opens up paths for special armour and items which can increase or decrease const.

I prefer Chat Roulette over Omegle. The creator of Chat Roulette has recently fixed the report system so you will see less of the dirty things on there and meet more people.
  12. I wholeheartedly agree with you on this. It sickens me to see people who nonchalantly abuse bugs for monetary and other reasons.
  13. It seems like an interesting theory. Can you provide any pictures?
  14. There are still cheats from 2007/2008 which only a handful of people know how to do and are not detectable by Jagex's systems. I have a friend who knew of a CFT since 8 months ago. It has been patched within the past couple of weeks though. I do not think these bug abusers should be publicly noted. I can't recall a time in the 7 years I have been playing which a user was noted for bug abusing by Jagex. I think that the 2-week ban was too short. At least two months would be a better punishment.
  15. TIF doesn't have a CC. Lady Heinous That is an unofficial clan chat. Tip.it does not control or moderate it.
  16. The people should be fine in Hawaii if they go to high ground or upper stories in some buildings.
  17. These are met to be more missions. If an instances is ran on a separate physical server the original server will have less of a load because the player's information will not have to be updated on that server and the player will not have to be updated about the other players.
  18. RS Instances I think instances would be a great addition to the game. They provide opportunities for new items and areas. The most general definition of instances is: "a dungeon or area that creates a new copy of the area or dungeon for a group of players to play though". Instances generally lessen the load on a server so players outside of the instance will experience less lag. This will require an instance queue system though. One question you might ask is "How would this work in RuneScape?". Well I will be telling you in detail starting now... Instances require a combat level of 50 and the completion of a quest. There will be both F2P and P2P instances so all players can enjoy these. Located in the center of Lumbridge will be a new NPC named the "Instance Master". If your combat level is less than 50, you will get a message from the Instance Master that says "You are too low of a level. Please come back when you train a wee-bit more.". You will be able to do instances by yourself or with a clan. You can bring familiars into certain instances, but not in others. Upon the completion of an instance, you can receive rewards such as new armor, weapons, pets, money, experience, other instances, and more. If you do the instance as a clan, everyone will get a reward. There will be a vast amount of instances available. You can unlock new instances by doing quests, achievement diaries, random events, and just by leveling combat. The difficulty of the monsters in the instances will vary based on your combat level. There will be 20 slots per instance per world. This is so that the server doesn't get overloaded. I stated previously that instances reduce server loads, but you need a way to prevent everyone from doing an instance. Instances will be available as safe mode (where you don't lose anything on death) and dangerous mode ( You keep 3 or 4 items on death). There will be timed and unlimited instances. If you are doing an instance solo and leave or die, you must go through the process and start over. If you are with a group of people and someone dies or leaves, they may re-enter after you clan clears a certain area. So if you meet all requirements and you want to start an instance, all you have to do is have your clan leader or yourself talk to the Instance Master. He will ask you to choose an instance. If there is a slot available for that instance, you and/or your clan have 5 minutes to prepare to go and they must enter a portal. If there is not a slot available, you must wait in a queue. There will be a system to group players together so if you want to join up with some random people and clan together, you can. The interface will change slightly when you are at an instance. You will have access to your prayers, magic spells, music, settings, inventory, equipment tabs, and familiar and map buttons. A new tab will take the place of the goals tab. This will have a little icon with the letter "I" and some colorful text in it. This will contain various information about your instance. It will show information such as Instance Name: Instance Difficulty Safe Mod: On/Off Your Kills: Your Deaths: Monsters Remaining: Time Left: Instances Unlocked: X/X Instances Completed: Instances Started: Instances Failed/Scratched: Instances will bring several new maps into the game. Each map will be separate from the game map. When doing an instance, you will have to go through multiple areas and kill any monsters. Some areas will be multi-way combat and some won't. After getting though the instance, you will have to defeat a final boss. This can range in difficulty from a Hellhound to something of equal proportions to the Corporal Beast. These instances are meant to be challenging and time consuming while providing a fun way to train or make money. They will add a new aspect to the game. This will be challenging technically to the developers, but I have confidence that they can do it. If you have any additional ideas or questions, feel free to comment. Thanks for reading and I hope you will support.
  19. On the subject of forum glitches with proxies; I have noticed that hide tags don;t function properly with any type of proxy.
  20. I honestly do not think that any major long term effects will come out of a few hours of extra experience. Short term effects might include price gouging and some items might be unbuyable on the grand exchange. Other then that ii will just be a reward for members.

So basically you randomly created a post with no means of backing your views up and just stated that Wikipedia has a few poorly controlled and written articles. It would be better if you had a few examples of articles so you could prove a point. Ot: I know that a lot of Wikipedia articles are not entirely accurate. Most college professors and high school English teachers won't accept Wikipedia as a valid source for any research paper.
  22. 8.8-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Chile http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/28/world/americas/28chile.html Another tragic earthquake within the past couple of days of the Japan earthquake and within a little over a month since the Haiti earthquake. My condolences go out to the families of those lost.

I spent most of the day writing out my 3D Isometric MMO Engine plans. I had a nice day at school. I am watching Fridaynightcranks right now and after that I am going to sleep.
  24. What about this: 1. You go to a banker. 2. You request a loan of x amount. 3. You receive bank tokens of the requested amount. 3. when you buy Y item it will appear as "Item Name(B)" the "b" means it is bought using borrow money. 4. This item can not be transferred, dropped, or lost when death occurs. . Items you borrow can not be taken to PVP worlds or bounty hunter worlds. 5. You have a set period of time based on the amount you borrowed. 6. if you do not pay the loan back on time , you will have to pay interest. If you are over 4 weeks past due date, the bankers will confiscate your item and will not lend you any bank tokens for 3 months. 7. If you pay it back on time, nothing will happen. This will help lower levels who need to borrow money to get something like a rune hatchet or something to make money.
  25. If I were you, I would check out this guide. This guide goes over getting user high scores and importing them into Google docs. I would do the same thing with Excel 2007 so you can use GUI components. After you get the scores imported, you can use a simple Excel command to pull up a few stats in any row/column you want.
