D'aww, we all love you too Iey. :P I don't even know what circles I'm in, though I do remember someone drawing a pentagram a while back...

Well, my suit is ridiculously expensive now to to indiscretion on Archi's part... we still need a good formula for calculating the max thickness and price of Crystalline based on level. At level 3, it was 130k for 4 inches. At level 12, it was 65k for 4 inches. These were calculated using seperate formulas, current level is 13, and I think the level 12 pricing was reasonable. P = T(20000 / 0.1L) perhaps? Maybe set a minimum cost? Thickness would be a base of 3 inches, with 0.2 inches added to max every level.

Hrm, the only ones I'm not particularly familiar with are Sere, who left, Trol, who's MIA, Paul, who I respect regardless, Doom, who is incredibly quiet, and you. Admittedly, that's a fair number for a community like ours though, but I still like them. Sere's like the eccentric uncle, Doom the travelling aunt, Trol and Paul the distant cousins. I like the family analogy, in case you can't tell. Anyways, I just thought that setting this up as a Tavern community activity would be fun. Also, we've had considerable activity with Archi's brilliant foray into IRC games, and Earth is showing that he actually seems that he knows his way around the D'neering genre quite well with the prelude to his interpretation. EDIT: Perhaps a welcome thread would be in order for the "newbies?"

Hex, if people find their way here by their own right for the sake of enjoying our games and community, then we have no right to turn them away, but the truth is we neither need nor want advertisement. We are a family here, the tightest of communities, and though I understand your intent of expanding that family you should gather a consensus first on whether we're really ready for new blood. I wouldn't be surprised if attempted additions are met with bias, many of us are quick to judge and if someone does something we see as blatantly disrupting our games (the perpetrator might even be unaware of our foibles, and not understand their mistake) then they might be outright ignored. You have been met with considerable intolerance from your fellow Taverners before (myself included), perhaps because you have a more disparate mindset. Maybe you should introduce the Taverners to the newcomers before you introduce the newcomers to the Tavern, so it isn't seen as an intrusion? Otherwise, frustration and jadedness on both sides might lead to conflict. Hex, I think this is something all of us should work on together, it has good potential both to make new friends and give the current crowd here in the Tavern a chance to revise their opinions of you and their view of your actions. :) EDIT: Also, what's the thread on the RS forum? I might want to participate even if it doesn't make the switch! (double smiley :) )

IRC dungeoneering.
So is mine okay? Grim, they're not too big (about 3/4ths the size of the bearded axes I've thrown), and Allomancy means they can be hollow and efficiently reinforced. They're made for allomancy-assisted throwing.

Hi everyone, I just got back from a chorus trip to Cortland. All-state, the best of the best... and whichever Basses aren't too afraid to go. :D It was wonderful, I made a new friend to go to the SCA and talk about... just about anything I like with. Possibly one of the most simply lovely moments of my life... A girl walks over and sits down at the piano, then begins playing "Clocks". People drift over, including myself, but no one knows the lyrics but me. I start singing, and we both look over and smile at each other. No clue who she is or where she's from, but we both share our little smiles and amusement at the rest of the crowd who simply stand and listen. She goes on to play "Don't Stop Believin'" to which a boy and girl, complete strangers from different schools, walk up to each other and do a spinning dance to. This turns into "Breakaway" with everyone spreading their arms and twirling, singing together. Finally comes "Hallelujah," a beautiful choir of voices singing in harmony and swaying in unison to. Then the choir instructor sends us back to our seats to practice. Everyone sighs, but goes back to their practicing with a smile.

Yeah, I look forward to seeing how they explain the last war and how Earth fits into everything Archi. In RFG you essentially threw off the Earth Defense Force when you killed their leaders, blew up their giant flagship, destroyed their Martian property, and sent them into bankruptcy. It was never Earth as a whole that was the enemy in the first place. Also, I recall reading somewhere that the original Red Faction alluded to research being done on some of the concepts to be seen in Armageddon, I think something to do with the aliens but I couldn't swear to it. I do know that they intend to continue the original story, I think they sort of got caught up in the (admittedly remarkable) technology behind the game in RFG.

I know, which is why I didn't think a Taverner could fill the role. They had their time, and unless they choose to come back we won't ask them. And it is dead, in a way, which is why we need a new mod for the new game. Traditional style, Taverner responses. Like it was in the beginning. Earthsage, to be a complete and total hypocrite, I think you might have a hard time sticking with it.

WE CAN PLAY VINDICTUS TOGETHER IEY! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS! Anywho, Red Faction Guerrilla, I know for a fact, is not about the story. It's about blowing the crud out of EVERYTHING. I turned a car into an IED so powerful that it shoots several tons of metal hundreds of feet into the air through a series of reinforced concrete floors. And that's not the half of it. On that note: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjxMuMOH08s Magnet guns, nanoforges, and aliens. Epic Game of Epicness +5.

I never got to fully live up to my role as "The Steel Paladin" and I would like to fill some gaps in the all-encompassing lore I have formed around the games I've played (it's quite interesting at this point). I'd like to play this, but we badly need a new mod. Preferrably someone without prior Dungeoneering experience but a good understanding of its spirit. I vote yes to the game, but I can't imagine a Taverner who could really make it work. I'd take Ross, or Archi, but otherwise...

Dungeoneering
Nah, we keep saying we need to perfect this, but all we need is a good, creative mind for the moderator and to continue with the formula that made D'neering what it is.

Dungeoneering
Eh, I think everyone's a bit busy. Should clear up soon, and then perhaps we can try this. :) I do have a question, though, why are there 35 votes on who should've been the next D'neering mod? EDIT: Wait, 22, but... I didn't think that vote was multiple choice...

Hey everyone, I'm going to be away for a little while. Just some issues to deal with. I'll hopefully be back by the end of the week, so no worries.

Ooh, shiny new metals. Sounds fun. And Dusty, how can we make this work? I feel like we keep getting into ridiculous fights. I think the problem is mostly me, but you're the Captain. You need to stay in control and make sure everyone has something to do. We're easily distractable, and distraction can quickly turn into dissent and destruction. We also need more of a Democracy, badly, a Dictatorship may work for you and make damage control a bit easier, but if you work more on deflecting problems rather than disposing of the remains then listening to the crew will work in all our favour.

See, Dusty? If you had let me board the ship to talk to them using my shuttle we would've known what it actually was.

On multiplayer do you play the same mode as single? If so, anyone willing to play with me? :P

Bah, just lost a couple hundred coal I got on a lucky mining streak. Respawned in the middle of the night. Next to a Creeper.

Minecraft General
So, I quickly ask again; does anyone have a bit of beginner advice? :)

Minecraft General
Ugg, items disappear on death now? That explains why I couldn't find mine at the base of my tower. Also, is there multiplayer survival mode?

Minecraft General
Okay, so, how should I start out? I kinda messed up last time. Also, should all my worlds be completely underwater?

Minecraft General
Just bought the game. I already drilled to the center of the Earth, but when I tried to build a giant flaming tower covered in torches I fell to my death. How do you move your respawn point?
