On a completely different note; Read Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer, Mather.- Chapter 1 - Windward
I'd be fine with Mather being set up a place in the less settled areas of the island, personally. Alternatively, he could receive a state salary as an entertainer or summat. Bards are good for attracting attention, he could spread tales of the Windward Haven to the world. Not to mention, if he minded his place, the forest Fey would probably love him. @Grim: I would ask yet again whether you could tell me what some of those spells you had in mind were, buffy or otherwise.- 690 replies

Who cares about taking up space on the board? We have three vaguely active threads... I will say, though, that pretty much everyone ignores stickies, so it kinda makes sense. I'll be back to post about my cumulative thoughts on a game I've been thinking through for a while once I'm sure I didn't give myself a concussion a few minutes ago.- Chapter 1 - Windward
SOOOOOOOOOOO How about those spell suggestions, Grim? Got any?- 690 replies

As a Haunted Oracle of the Winds, I automatically get Ghost Sound, Mage Hand, Minor Image, Levitate, Alter Winds, Gust of Wind, Cloak of Winds, and River of Wind by my current level. They can't be switched out. I do get Telekinesis later though, which is cool. One of my class features is also a level/minutes fly speed of 60ft/good, progressing to 90ft/perfect at level 10. I was considering it for my 7th level feat. Also, at level 11 I get to steal a few cool things of my choice from the Wizard list. But until then, what spells did you have in mind? Most everything I chose was for thematic value, and I was going to go with Spear of Purity/Shard of Chaos (EDIT: Considering switch to Admonishing Ray) for ranged attacks against probable enemies. I would also ask how I can buff myself and still preserve action economy. EDIT: Also, scrolls, not really that simple to do when you've traded your WBL for a backstory and a cool sword. On which note, what enchantments should I use the +4 equivalent enchant on? I was thinking +3 Spell Storing was good, but I wanted a second opinion. EDIT EDIT: Switched out Control Water with Summon Monster IV because;- 690 replies

Thanks for the session, was fun. +30 points (Completed Gang Warfare) -1.1 (Ars Magnetica 2.0) -2.1 (Ars Magnetica 3.0) 26.8 -10.1 (Luck 11.0) 16.7 -15.0 (Bought Freelancer Rescue Mission) 1.7- The Back Room
It's okay. I enjoyed smashing furniture over the heads of gnolls. Play Nethack. Was about to give it a try, then I saw that it's just another "yay, I can make a functioning game engine!!!" game.I'm not gonna play anything without graphics. If Andrew Hussie can make games with decent graphics to go inside his webcomic in a matter of days, then actual game makers can add graphics to theirs.- The Back Room
It will mercilessly slaughter the foolish and unprepared. In twenty five years no one would have 'completed' it if not for the entire fanbase's decades of cumulative exchanged knowledge. You will not complete it in the first hundred tries, or likely the next few hundred after that. Completed it on my second attempt, without fan assistance. The Trick was pressing k and towards the enemy, as opposed to running away. Once I got that it was pretty much a cakewalk. So how did you deal with Rodney?- The Back Room
Play it anyways. Whoever completes it first gets to be new Tavern Mod :D- The Back Room

It might also tell you somehing that it's the Trope Namer for The Dev Team Thinks Of Everything.- The Back Room
Come on, I even got Archi to play, and he never likes anything that I like I'll tell you the magic woooord- The Back Room
Yes. It's the greatest, most difficult PC game of all time. It has Werejackals, and Food Poisoning. Does Vindictus have Food Poisoning? I don't think so. "Look at Vindictus. Now back at Nethack. Now back to Vindictus, now back to Nethack. Sadly, Vindictus isn't Nethack. But if that contaminated sink mutated you into a Bee and crushed you under your own hat, Vindictus could kill you like Nethack. Look down, back up. Where are you? You're surrounded by water moccasins, in the dungeon your dungeon could feel like. Whats in your hand, back at me. I have it, its a wand with two charges of that spell you love. Look again, the wand is now melting your face. Anything is possible when your game plays like Nethack and not Vindictus. I died falling off a horse." Game like a man, man. Nethack.- The Back Room

You could wear Stoneplate or some such thing instead of using Golem Armour if so desired. That would only cost 1000, and flight spells can be made to last for quite a while, with Alchemists being able to give themselves wings. Demigods can be created, but only if you reach a deity level of power and create a proxy. You can summon thunderclouds pretty early, or summon elementals. An average platoon of human soldiers fighting even a 2/3rds Caster of our level would stand very little chance, and yeah, depending on the spell you could probably nuke them all at once. Stone Shape could let you carve a city out of the mountains, though 'futuristic' depends on the inhabitants more than the creator. It's usually a matter of how you think in Pathfinder.- The Back Room
That is a hilariously bad idea You should try it, Mather- The Back Room
So you got a girlfriend after all? I'm so proud of you! Why does she have a beard, though?- The Back Room

That would be a cooler option if it didn't entail me being stuck with a bunch of useless dudes in the middle of a jungle pissing up trees and trying not to get cannibalized for the next several weeks worth of session. On the other hand, it gives me time to find that Sword of the Planes I've been wanting, find out whether I can take deific planes as favored terrain, and means I won't be on the receiving end of at least one Enervation.- 690 replies

I found that out rather abruptly while trying to be witty in that one post a few minutes ago. Also, I suggest you not base your appearance on anime characters, especially from Toaru, what with every character in it being some degree of effeminate. Nope.- The Back Room
Metalhead. Also Authenticity In the musical subcultures of heavy metal and punk, the word "poseur" (or "poser") is a pejorative term used to describe "a person who habitually pretends to be something he/she is not."[8] In a 1993 profile of heavy metal fans' "subculture of alienation", the author noted that the scene classified some members as "poseurs," that is, heavy metal performers or fans who pretended to be part of the subculture, but who were deemed to lack authenticity and sincerity.[9] Jeffrey Arnett's 1996 book Metalheads: Heavy Metal Music and Adolescent Alienation argues that the heavy metal subculture classifies members into two categories by giving "...acceptance as an authentic metalhead or rejection as a fake, a poseur."[10]- The Back Room
On the contrary, having blocked Mather strikes me as an extremely productive step. And the new user interface has made it easier than ever! @Earth: I thought Journey was only for the PS3? - The Back Room
