I havent read all the replies here, but it's also possible to press: Enter->S->S->4 and your charater will say what slayer task you are currently on, If your task is over then you'll know that way. It's not a good way to track how many you have left though.

Hey I've been out of the game for a while and I'm back now. I'm looking for an efficient way of training strength during slayer, what weapon and equipment to use. Skills: Attack: 93 Strength: 85 Defence: 91 Prayer: 81 Summoning: 80 Herblore: 91 HP: 91 Slayer: 86 I currently have about 80 mil I can spend, but I already have decent armor. What weapon would be best to train strength with and are there any other things I should consider?

To be brutally honest I thought this was a very poorly written article. An opinion piece doesn't need to tell the reader that it's an opinion. It's reads like a poorly written forum post. Maybe the tip.it editors should take a greater role in making sure the content posted actually meets it's usual standard?

Your steps around the hacking issue are not in any way good enough. It's not possible to protect against this in any way. There is no way on earth I would ever be for something like this. I actually don't think I've ever heard a suggestion I liked less. :thumbdown:

A few years ago on another account a clan member asked me to hold his stakers loot. That was 2 phat sets 10 pumpkins a few easter eggs and some other stuff. I never even thought about keeping it until a few years later. These days that stuff is be like several months pay lol...

I still fail to see how 3 minutes compared to never isn't a good sample size, or at least something worthy of noting down. I would at the very least update your guides and note that some players (at least one) reports that RoW makes it impossible to get a defender. you should at least aknowledge the possibility that the RoW makes it impossible or extremely imporbable to get a defender rather than hint at using it is a good thing since you clearly have no facts to support either theory. Do you guys really think that I would have gotten the defenders even with the RoW after trying 10 hours without getting it? I'd say thats a conincidence the size of me finding a lottery ticket on the ground with a 10million jackpot. 6 defenders in 1 hour vs. no defender in 10 hours - the only change is the ring - the ring has one purpose and it is to manipulate droprates...... Also, while wearing the RoW other places I have noticed a change in what drops and doesn't. While killing dust devils I have never seen a mithril bar drop, until a day I forgot to bring the ring, I then saw multiple drops in a single slayer task.

Yes, it took me that amount of time to get Bronze as well, but from bronze to iron i seriously used 10 hours without getting a single one! Then took it off and the defenders came in flying. Disagree all you want, but there is no denying facts. Perhaps the RoW has different affects on different players? :S

Hey When Warriors Guild came out several people, me included, could not get a defender past bronze. I personally spent 3-4k tickets and didn't even get an iron. I showed the defender to the woman outside and everything. I had a couple of friends who even quit in anger over this. Fast forward several years to a month ago: I came back to the game after several years of absence and decided to give the defender another shot. 1,5k tokens later I still did not get a bronze defender. I tried asking around the RSOF, but people just called me the most unlucky guy of all time. I tried submitting a bug report to Jagex, but since the bug was older than a couple of months they no longer consider it a bug, it's now a feature and so my bug report was rejected out of hand. Yesterday however i came to the realization that I had been using the RoW since my first short unlucky streak all those years ago. Especially since the ring was said to give me a 10% better shot at getting rare drops or something, according to what Jagex said at the time. I tried looking up some information on the ring and it turnes out it actually remove lower tier drops completely! And of course, in Jagex enduring wisdom, a defender, the only item you could possibly care about getting from cyclopes are considered one of those "worthless" things the RoW removes from the drop table. After taking off the RoW I got the iron defender after 3 minutes and all the other defenders after a little over an hour. Time spent to get iron defender with RoW: Approx 10 hours, did NOT drop Time spent to get iron defender without RoW: 3 minutes. Also, Tip It GURUS: This line: "Many players have reported that wearing a Ring of Wealth appears to increase the chances of a Cyclops dropping a defender." From your guide on the Warriors guild needs to be removed! It may hold true for the higher tiers of defenders, but I'm not going to be wearing that ring up there ever again.

Back in RSC a friend of mine withdrew all his coins. This was dumb enough on it's own since it lost it's top stop in the bank. It wasn't possible to rearrange your items back then, nor could you withdraw stuff as notes, so he took out things, dropped them in the bank and did this for a while in order to get the coin to the top spot. The only problem was, other people started helping him by filling their banks - with his dropped stuff. :P

Hey I'm introducing my cousin to Runescape today. Back in the day I used to set up any friends with full set of around, a few 100k's worth of cash, food and other useful supplies to get them started... These days however the good 'ol tradelimit takes care of that for me... Do any of you know how he can make some quick and easy money to get rolling on a level nothing account? I may consider sponsoring his first month of P2P as well, so if there are quicker ways to get started there please let me know. Any and all help would be appriciated. :)

Having attended many FITA events myself I have to tell you that this is completely wrong. Maybe there some difference between my country and yours in terms of what hand is favored, but I have seen only a few people use right hands for bows and they were ALL OF THEM lefties.

Okay... I have been a real life ranger (we call it archer actually, but whatever) for several years. And holding the bow with your left hand means you are RIGHT HANDED. Imagine what is most heavy. Holding a light metal or wooden object or pulling an incredibly powerful string capable of launching arrows several hundred meters. Let me give you a hint: It's the string. A left handed archer would hold the bow in his right hand. There is an incredible amount of persicion required by the hand holding the string, something which would be extremely difficult with your offhand.

Believe it or not, I was the first person to suggest (properly anyhow) that we got a presistent healthbar outside of stats. Going into your stats to check what health you had was downright stupid. My rs name was Cook66 back then. I also made many more interface related suggestions and I think all of them have been implemented now. Edit: Not all of them :P I wanted a way to examine players to get a screen with their stats and equipped items, but that didn't happen.

Thank you very much! I never thought of going to look in a webarchive! That was probably the poll I was talking about, it was hard remembering the exact words. March 2002 sound plausible to me, perhaps it was a bit later, or earlier but no I at least know the approximate time. :)

Hey. I'm trying to pinpoint the estimated time I started playing Runescape, but I found it to be a very hard thing to do. Could you guys help me out? I remember a few things: Runescape didn't see any updates for an age. I don't think any new content was added for several months after I started. Not regarding bugfixes and such I think the first proper update was members. There was just 4 worlds to play. Members didn't exist. You could trade quest items. Tip.it had a poll up which asked either if people had done or liked "The new quest called Dragon Slayer". Unfortunatly the tip.it poll archive doesn't go back that far. The graphics sucked and almost all the skills involved clicking the mousebutton nonstop until your inventory was either full or empty. :P

Free trade completely undermines the grand exchange. You can't have free and unlimited trade and the grand exchange at the same time. Why? Because it would create seperate prices in GE and between players. You MUST keep strict restrictions in order to keep item values consistent between trade and GE. If unlimited trade was possible, people would no longer be bound by GE prices for rares and the entire economy could revert to pre-GE making the entire thing useless.

Oh god! I have played Runescape since 2001/02 and I never noticed that before. lol! -- Also. Having played back then I remember the good times. They were good, sure. If you don't count clicking 10,000 click for 500 coal or sleepingbags with chaptca's. These days are easier, sure. But they are also much more fun. There are a lot of bad and annoying players around, but you can still find good people, focus on those few rather than the masses you don't like and I think the time spent in the game will be a lot more fun for you.

Your monitor may not be set at optimal resolution which can sometimes hide lines of pixels making thin lines thinner or even dissapear completely. When you drag the image around you'll find that it's easier to see sometimes, then at other times not. Do a search for your computer monitor with google and find it's native resolution, set it to that. It could of course be a completely different problem though. Good luck! Edit: Do you mean the discoloration there? I can bareley see it on my monitor due to the light in this room (at work). If thats your issue then congrats, you found a bug which has been around since the dawn of RS2. :P Try different graphical settings. It may help.

A gem bag makes this a lot more interesting.
