  1. Forgot to mention... Look up "useless" items before you toss them. For example, I got polished buttons during digsite. but they're an item req for animal magnetism apparently. so I'm holding on to them :D After doing digsite, you can get a gnome drink as a bonus reward in the museum. this is an item req for starting recipe for disaster-- otherwise you have to make it yourself.
  2. Ape Atoll is same stock as Al Kharid, plus D Scim Some tips for early lvling: Generally, it's a "waste of time" to train low levelled skills w/o quests. A lot of quests will send you from lvl 1 to lvl 30+ without much effort. Lots of time/money saved. Recommended quests for quick lvls/convenience: Knight's sword (1-29 smithing) The Digsite (1-31 mining) The Grand Tree (gnome gliders; lots of attack and magic XP) Tree Gnome Village (spirit trees) Holy Grail (1-31 def; 1-29 prayer) Tourist Trap (1-26 agility) Waterfall (1-30 att and str) Witch's House (10-24ish HP) Fishing contest (safe shortcut underneath white wolf mountain) I haven't "trained" attack at all and I'm already lvl 41. Excalibur's slightly worse than a mith scimmy and has a special attack too. Nice cheap sword until I get a rune/dragon scimmy. I plan on doing Shadow of the Storm next for 1-27 ranged :D You can also get 1k hunter and slayer XP in the Varrock museum basement. Currently 19 herblore just from quests too. Still lots more to do :D
  3. When was magic ever dominant? The only way you could ever compete with the best melee weapons using magic was with full virtus, wolpertingers and Storm of Armadyl. Other than that, magic might have been usable or even powerful, but it was by no means dominant except for maybe very short time periods before melee got a new weapon that obliterated the previous magic strategy. I agree, though, that suggesting EoC fixed the combat triangle is laughable. What we have now, in pre-EoC terms, is Storm of Armadyl changed to Fire Surge but dealing 5 more damage, the Chaotic Maul hitting at dart speed with a +600 strength bonus and a new whip that hits at twice the speed and ignores any and all defence. EDIT to add that on the plus side, EoC has made it vastly easier for jagex to fix these flaws. Before, they needed to balance everything really carefully and come up with niche special attacks. Now, all they need to do is tweak a couple of numbers. Magic was ALWAYS the best after ancients. Magic could even beat ranged.
  4. From Lumbridge, I think it's quicker to get to Port Sarim by running to Shantay and getting thrown in jail than by running to Port Sarim from Lumb.
  5. My friend's foreign-exchange-student-roommate was explaining his rationale for slut-shaming... Him: If you have a key that fits into a lot of locks, that's an awesome key. But if you have a lock that's opened by many keys, that's a shitty lock. Me: Yeah dude if a girl has a hard time hooking up with lots of girls, she's a pretty shitty key. Him: I don't think you understand... :twss:
  6. Jesus guys lol Buy as much silk as you want (store a ton in your bank if you want) Then go to ardy for 60gp Sell all the silk you bought (27+ ideally) for lots of money.
  7. Is there a list of highest quest reqs anywhere?
  8. Me: selling imp beads 500ea Him: I'll buy for 400ea Me: No thanks Him: What do you have? Me: Black, white, and red Him: I'll buy all 1750gp Me: Ok :) Lol You can buy silk in Al Kharid for 3gp each. Then spend 30gp to go to Karamja, then run to Brimhaven and spend 30gp to go to Ardy. Then sell your silk to the Ardy silk trader for 60gp each (offer 120gp each first).
  9. I know you guys are busy arguing, but I just wanted to let y'all know that I just got lvl 10 cooking :) Ok back to 07scape...
  10. Where/how did you get those pie dishes?
  11. Varrock museum basement. Answer display quizzes and talk to the archeologist afterwards. No requirements.
  12. current rank 1 construction: 0xp. now's your chance, everybody! :P So, first to use an xp lamp on con = rank 1 :D edit, nvm friend says you can't build a POH right now, and can't use lamps either
  13. The world's not going to end by having to wait 1 more week >_>
  14. waterfall complete :) 30 att/str, 22 combat. time to go patronize people in Lumbridge to raise my self-esteem.
  15. For those of you doing the waterfall quest at 10hp: the moss giants can 1-hit you. Have a skeleton or zombie attack you which will make you "immune" to moss giant attacks. Then you'll be "safe" as long as you have food. :)
  16. Some tips: It's better to die and respawn in Lumb than to waste your Home Teleport (once every 30 min) If you die, your energy will be restored to 100%. 99 agility in 2007 is the equivalent of 1 agility in EOC pretty much.
  17. For the quest list, keep in mind that some quests might require items which won't be conveniently obtainable for a while. Too bad the ability to "filter" quests was released after 2007 I think. That'd be convenient to have. Unless helpsites have a feature where you can input your stats and it'll filter the quest list for you. Also, prioritizing the MTK quests would probably a very wise idea.
  18. Does anybody know when the first Jad graphics update was? Will 07 Jad look like the one in my sig? That one was my favorite :D
  19. I wonder how many "illegitimate" ranks there will be. For example, you hire a bunch of "slaves" to collect materials for you, and you'd pay them on the main game for their services. Or if anybody will account share.
  20. Go with a friend who's an experienced lifter. But before you start lifting, you need to figure out why you're lifting. Do you just want to get stronger? Do you want to get huge? If I was starting out, I'd just stick with 5x5 sets of bench press, deadlifts, and squats. Do something like bench on Monday, deads on Wed, and squats on Fri. If you're just starting out, you'll see fast results after the first couple of weeks or so, regardless of how "inefficient" you're being. I quit drinking soda a while ago too, would also recommend. For reading nonfiction books and money, think of it this way: If you currently earn $15 per hour, and learning a new skill or technique will boost that income up to $20 per hour, then that’s an increase of $5 per hour. If you work about 2000 hours per year, then that’s an extra $10,000 per year. If this new skill will benefit you for the next three years, then that new skill will bring you $30,000 total. If it takes you 100 hours to learn this new skill, then you’re essentially earning $300 per hour spent learning.
  21. No fist of guthix for free magic xp either :\
  22. I get on when I'm bored or have nothing to be doing. I don't really have any goals or anything on RS, I just see what my friends are up to pretty much. Probably won't play 07 after the first free month. I've already done everything I wanted to do, so there'd be no point in doing it all over again.
  23. But not the livid farm. Thank god. Wonder if string ammy will be a feasible way to train w/o the GE
