Fight Caves Post-EoC Tweaks
It took me nearly 2 hours to finish the caves before the accuracy updates. I can't even imagine how boring and tedious it is now.

2007 - Old School RuneScape... You Vote! - [It's Here!]
Errr ... so you actually want a buggy game where game-breaking oversights can have massive impacts on the economy or result in the loss of all your items? [hide]Surprise, it's still around![/hide] [/hide] No, what I want is for Jagex to stop being so goddam safe with everything. Just like when you go out to drive your car to the grocery store, you're taking the chance that you'll be hit by another car and killed, but the benefits of that car trip outweigh the risks. Jagex, they are terrified of that car trip. In fact, they don't even own a car. Jagex is like the grandma who's locked herself in her own house, removed all the furniture, sanded down all sharp corners, tied herself to the only remaining chair, and calls her son every couple of days to personally deliver her some cold, bland chicken broth that he spoonfeeds her with his own hands (because she could choke on the spoon). Jagex used to take risks. And risks come with losses (glitches), I realize. Sometimes even huge, game changing glitches. But those glitches are rare. They don't happen all that often. The benefits outweigh the risks. Nowadays, they lock themselves in their office and only release updates that appeal to the lowest common demoninator, AKA children who Jagex thinks they have to protect with their children-like themes. Implementing EoC was the biggest risk they have ever taken. With it have come some huge glitches. And lo and behold, it's turned out to be possibly the best risk they've ever taken. EoC was a risk? No. I disagree completely. I didn't let Jagex sell me that crap. The EoC model was the WoW model. It wasn't a risk, it was an update that was based off a very, very well-tested model. Jagex opted to adopt the strategy of every other MMO developer ever- make your game more like WoW. There was no risk involved. EoC was not unique in any respect, it was WoW with a different name. The fact that the EoC "model" was well-tested is irrelevant. It's a huge game-changer to RS, which makes it a risk.

2007 - Old School RuneScape... You Vote! - [It's Here!]
I'd still play with GWD, but I agree with the sentiment here. I think no GWD in such a server would be a mistake, an interesting point no one has brought up, is that no rares will be present in the game. There needs to be something high end to aim for :P. hmm, what if jagex offered a random colored phat to the first 50 people to all 99s. I wonder how long it would take in 07...

I wouldn't call it sluttier, I'd call it stupidity. The reason we have age limits on stuff is both due to physical but mental reasons. Smoking drinking etc is placed at 18/21+ due to health reasons, while sex is usually 16+ due to maturity. The reason people look down on a 12 year old having sex, ESPECIALLY getting knocked up, is because they shouldn't be doing that at that age. They just aren't mentally ready to handle it. Sure women and men physically mature differently, but honestly, maturity doesn't see the light of day until 17 and beyond in most cases. Ehh being "mentally prepared" for having sex is just social programming. Now that there's birth control, really the only reason sex can be considered "bad" is if all your friends and family tell you it is for whatever crazy reason.

Apparently August 10th is the backup date. Meaning, no GWD.

Well, getting blackout drunk is just flat-out irresponsible. Having lots of sex with many different partners, not necessarily so.

You don't really need to train prayer beyond lvl 70 though. Wouldn't be too difficult to DIY

Quick question: are RSC servers overrun with bots like people believe the 2007 servers will be?

I wish they'd include a list of features that would/wouldn't be included in the August 2007 version. For example, GWD was released on August 28, 2007. If GWD is in this new server, I'm not interested in playing. I don't like the impact it had on the game-- basically PvM completely overtook skilling for earning money. Don't get me wrong, I had a lot of fun w/ GWD back in the day. I just wish its profitability was more evenly matched with the other main moneymakers at the time. The fact that we'd all start fresh is good, IMO, however we'd still be a 2013 community playing a 2007 game. In other words, all of the discoveries of efficiency and metagaming would be transferred over to 2007 as well. EDIT: Come to think of it, though, the godsword hilts were really what blew skilling out of the water. But later on people realized that whips were still better than godswords. With this knowledge, it makes me wonder if godswords would still be incredibly overpriced upon re-release.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Well I've read a lot of NWP's posts in the past, I'm pretty sure he's alluding to the fact that the less promiscuous a girl is, the more likely she is to file a false rape accusation in order to preserve her image when her slut-shaming friends shame her for having a one night stand. (He's a lawyer that deals with cases like that I believe). But hey, if the ambiguity is killing you that much, why don't ya just ask him? :D

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
About 75% through the bowl; unlocked pretty much everything I can. I'm bored. I think I'll only do Special Voyages from now on until I've got a lot of scrolls since I don't really need anything else.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I would if I could, but I can't so I won't. For clarification I suppose... Am I happy? No. Am I unhappy? No. Am I content? Absolutely. Keep in mind that contentment is a dangerous place to be. It generally leads to stagnation/boredom and possibly unhappiness/depression. Slut-shaming doesn't make you happy. It makes you less unhappy. There's a big difference. There's no positive repercussions either, and therefore it's something you should drop. Ehh that really depends. Most of the people I know with full-time salaried jobs are miserable.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
It's very easy for me to tell whether or not someone is happy. In person, it's easy to tell just by the way they carry themselves. But in cases like on these forums, it's still pretty easy to tell just by the way people post. There's just a few basic obvious requirements for being happy. Many people lack them.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I would defend my position, but I'd be wasting my words. Not only that, but there really isn't much to defend. Take your example of a smoker. What reasons do they have to smoke? The ones I immediately point out would be a possible psychological/physical addiction to the substance, stress relief (essentially tied with the addiction), or they just really enjoy doing it. In my case, I just find it really fun. I have no reason to do it (which in turn nothing to back up my point), but I find it enjoyable. I enjoy putting other people down, not in an attempt to raise myself mind you, but just because I love watching people get angry or butt-hurt at the stuff that I say. A fun quote that I absolutely love goes something like "happiness is always so much more enjoyable when it's based on the misery." I think it's important to acknowledge the fact that Vezon Dash isn't happy with his life. The "happiness" he speaks of isn't "true happiness." He's referring to the same "happiness" you experience from eating unhealthy, tasty foods or smoking cigarettes. Temporary self-gratification, long-term dissatisfaction. It's simple. Happy people have no interest in putting others down. Happy people make other people happy. And yes, you do put others down to feel better about yourself. That's just basic psychology.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I think discussing slut-shaming here is basically preaching to the choir. To take it a step further, even if people do slut-shame when the situation arises, despite logically claiming to be against it otherwise, there's really not much we can do about it. Sort of like people who know smoking is bad for their health, yet continue to smoke anyways. Telling them that smoking is bad probably isn't going to influence/change their behavior. Only they can choose to change their behavior. In the case of people who aren't even interested in defending their position, then it's still a waste of time/effort. The best way to incite change in other individuals is to be happy w/ your beliefs and let that influence their beliefs via inspiration. If someone's beliefs are making them unhappy, you're not going to change them by attacking them. They have to feel like they could be happier if they changed their beliefs by themselves. If I catch any of my friends slut-shaming, I'll generally just be like, "Why are you making it sound like that's a bad thing? What's bad about it? Why does that bother you? Why's that a big deal?" With that said, most of my friends have learned to quit complaining about stupid irrational shit in my presence

With the exception of maybe one person, I don't think anyone in this thread really supports slut-shaming.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
But if you want to talk about slut-shaming, feel free to start the discussion :P It's not something I've given too much thought to, but I think calling a woman a slut is a cruel thing to do and negatively affects both men and women.
