  1. great article from Crocefisso (apart from it being a bit repetitive towards the end), first time i've ever felt compelled to comment on the tip.it times. i am definitely going to join your clan chat in the hope of hearing more words of wisdom.
  2. what if the 6 characters from Temple Trekking helped you in the quest? they have a vested interest in that region and by the time you get them all to 99 you could have formed some sort of emotional attachment to them meaning you might actually care if they get killed... needless to say, if you've never done Temple Trekking they will all be level 1 and get owned instantly, whereas the quest would be much easier if you'd taken the time to help them all train to level 99...
  3. I often imagine how awesome it would be if one of my friends turned out to also be a secret Runescape player, and they were a similar level to me, and we went and killed loads of bosses together and had a great old time. But yeah that's not likely, and i can't see myself ever recommending Runescape to any of my friends either, so i guess i'll stick to playing on my own. What about you?
  4. No they cant. Just a warning to Jagex should they sell gold, they will get lawsuits against them after bans and they will be successful. Even if Jagex writes 500 times, this is our property and we can ban you cause we feel like it. Jagex loses their rights to do so when they sell you gold. Even if they wrote on there 500 times during the gold buying process that Jagex still owns the gold, they still legally gave up ownership when they sold it, even though they wrote 500 times all over their terms and conditions that its otherwise. There are limits to Terms of Service, and your understanding of the ToS is also important and how Jagex conducts themselves also plays a part. For example a guy was renting a room for 2000 a month, but only paying the guy 1600. The guy was accepting 1600 for a few months before demanding the rest of the money he is owed. The renter refuses, so he takes him to court. First thing the judge does is ask the renter his understanding of the agreement, he said "I thought it was 1600 a month" and then asks the owner if he accepted the money and deposited it which he said yes to. The judge ruled that through their actions they agreed to a new contract, despite what the writing said. Same applies to Jagex (in the United States Uniform Commercial Code would dictate contract/commercial law, but the UK has their own equivalent which is very similar) if they conduct themselves in a certain way and you have a certain understanding you could get away with a lot even if they write a lot of stuff there, means nothing unless they follow their end of the contract too. Like I said, Jagex will be opening a nasty can of worms should they choose to sell gold, doesnt matter what they write in their terms of service policy. Jagex will do well to avoid microtransactions. could Jagex rent you gold? you could pay 50p to "rent" 1m gp for as long as you are a member or until it is spent. would that get round any legal issues of ownership? also if my girlfriend gives me 30m rsgp in return for sexual favours, does that count as RWT?!
  5. raises the interesting question of at what point you would put your morals/beliefs aside and buy some gold! even at 10 cents per million it would be very tempting if buying from Jagex directly! just enough for that red h'ween though, honest...!
  6. Jagex could undercut anyone, it's their gold! i could see inflation maybe being a proplem but not if everything was effected. when i got 99 fishing last year i was selling raw sharks for 1200-1400 each. with the money i bought a SGS for 70m. raw shark are now around 400 and an SGS is 30m, so for me it was better when things were inflated. but i'm no economic expert!
  7. i'm against micro transactions but also i hate bots... anyway i got to thinking, what if Jagex started selling Runescape gp at a competitive price? would this have an impact on the amount of bots in game if gold farming websites no longer had any customers? after all, who would buy from some shady website when they could buy directly from Jagex? if as speculated by some people on this forum, 95% of bots are run by gold farming websites, there would obviously be many other consequences if they all disappeared, good and bad. i'm sure everyone has their own opinions of what they would be. so if you had to choose between the current situation, or Jagex selling rsgp and 95% of bots disappearing, which would you choose?! the way i see it, i'd rather some kid bought their gp from Jagex than ran 12 bots which competed with me for resources and devalued many of the items i would like to sell.
  8. i'll add you, this is exactly the type of dungeoneering i like to do. having said that i'm on a break from dungeoneering right now...!
  9. got 67k Summoning xp at level 92. happy with that.
  10. i like to range them - it's not the fastest but it's easy and mostly afk-able. you don't need to safe spot, just make sure you're standing far enough away from them - 10 or 12 spaces i think - and they'll not use their ice breath. your range level is maybe a little low (i started doing them at 87 iirc) but you've got extreme range pots and if you're doing it this way you don't care about speed anyway! with Armadyl top+skirt, DFS, Unicorn pouches/scrolls, and pots, i could stay there all day.
  11. ok so i had a wee play with the numbers and it seems like strength bonus is the key thing here (in terms of max hit anyway). for Void to be better, the rest of your gear needs to give you a strength bonus of over ~140, otherwise you should use Bandos etc. which means someone using rapier+ddef would be better sticking with Bandos...? does that sound right? (still don't know about the accuracy - if you hit less zeros in Void the overall DPS could still be higher despite the lower average hit...)
  12. where do those numbers come from if you don't mind me asking? not saying i don't believe you, just curious! does the tip.it max hit calculator work on the same formula? based on that, my max hit would be slightly higher with void (we're talking 2 LP...) but how do i calculate accuracy? i gain 10% but lose 12 attack bonus off the Barrows gloves... cheers,
  13. "Void melee helm: +10% to Attack and damage" what does this actually mean? does it simply add 10% to whatever my attack and strength bonuses are at the time? what about my actual att/str levels, where do they come into it? i'm trying to understand if/when this set effect would result in more damage dealt than with the usual strength boosting gear like Bandos etc. cheers,
  14. i'd still be interested to know the answer to this. i'll probably have to make the same decision at some point soon... cheers,
  15. ok thanks i've looked that up now. given the small amount of tokens i've got saved up and relatively slow rate i can earn them solo, is it still worth me spending them on upgrading a ring? if so, is there a particular tier which i should be aiming for before it's worthwhile or is 2h+tier 1 still better than a spear? thanks again,
  16. i haven't done any dungeoneering in months so haven't really kept up to date with developments. i thought a spear was considered the best weapon because you can poison it and use all 3 attack styles, but reading through a few threads today everyone is saying 2h. has something changed to make 2h better or am i remembering wrong? i only solo if that makes any difference. cheers,
  17. i was able to vote and my account is just over 2 years old...
  18. thanks for your reply - ok so maybe "pure" is the wrong word, likesay i don't really know about pures! i figured a decent defence level was pretty important - i'll hopefully be able to bind melee opponents and ko them before they get close to me, but rangers will take me out in one or two shots if i'm 1 def in crappy mage robes won't they?
  19. i was thinking about starting a Mage Pure for pk'ing, initially F2P, maybe go P2P later. thought it might be a fun way to practice combat magic without getting owned on my main! was thinking of going for 59 mage, 45 pray, and 41 def, giving a combat level of 46 according to the tip.it calculator. i've never done any pk'ing and don't know anything about pures so maybe this would be a waste of time? any comments appreciated! cheers!
  20. yeah totally, makes a nice change and fits in with the slayer skill perfectly! normally i try to be as efficient as possible but this is one of the things where i'm quite happy to sacrifice efficiency for fun! i agree it's a pity, a special weapon for one particular beast should do more damage than Keris does. i've not compared but it does seem like Balmung does more damage over time. it's really slow though so i could be wrong.
  21. i always use Balmung for Dagannoth tasks and Keris (p++) for Kalphites. i've got a feeling this probably isn't the most efficient way of completing these tasks, but i just love those (ocassional!) big hits so i don't really care! does anyone else use these specialist weapons? anyone ever compared to whip or gs?
