  1. It's the other way around. Why should somebody wish to pay a company that purposely takes away pre-existing futures, in effect reducing their enjoyment of the game? It's a simple matter of not being willing to pay somebody that has backstabbed you in the past. As for why they didn't pay before that happened, the reasons are too great to list. Perhaps they are not happy with the pay to play content? Maybe they impose the challenge of being f2p on themselves, much like skillers don't train combat? Perhaps they do not have the financial means to do so? Or maybe they just don't have enough time to invest in the game to warrant paying for it. Thing is, if you treat your possible costumers like trash, they'll be less inclined to buy from you in the future.
  2. You missed the point. I was only addressing the "why" they don't, or should not pay.
  3. Because sometimes companies don't deserve the money. It's the reason I don't buy EA's games. It's the reason I go months without subscribing to runescape. Treating your costumers like garbage is never the way to earn their trust and money. I'd have thought with the good examples valve and steam provide, other companies would learn.
  4. Completely wrong. People have been tricked again and again into duels they think they can win. Never seen a low level pure win a duel against a higher level opponent because he was greedy and gullible?
  5. There was a time where he was not. And there will be a time where he will not again. My point is still valid.
  6. I agree. Players of old can not be forgotten. I don't know how I'd feel if Zezima, a huge motivation when I was a tiny level 3, got removed from the highscores or from the game altogether. Player achievements must be honored.
  7. But that's wrong. It only relocates money, it doesn't affect the economy. One could argue that without this, they will turn to gathering resources, but merchanting has always been a prominent factor on deciding player wealth (merely relocating player wealth, just like dicing), and I doubt dicers will attempt to grow fortunes by fishing or woodcutting.
  8. That's fine. I do, and that's why I'm mildly bothered by their explanation. I thought they were going to be more communicative with the community, but it seems they still like to beat around the bush. I don't even gamble.
  9. I'd concede spamming if the ignore list didn't exist. How does buying ranks ruin the game? Scamming has always existed, much like luring and other underhanded methods of acquiring goods. Removing a feature because of a few rotten apples is not a good policy to adopt. I'd concede spam pms if there wasn't an ignore list or a friends only functionality for pms. Sure, spamming might affect you in some way until you add them to the ignore list, but I'd hardly call it... what did you say? "ruining the game" Stop being overly dramatic.
  10. Dicing was hardly ruining the game, get off your high horse. It was more honest than armor trimming or any other sort of trust trade scam, and those hardly affecting the game.
  11. Poker is still gambling, and that was the argument Jagex presented. Whether it requires skill or not is irrelevant, and that wasn't the excuse they used.
  12. It just so happens to be what I am upset about too. I hate lame excuses more than... most things jagex does.
  13. did you juat snipe a hex? I cant tell from the picture, its a bit small Yes.
  14. Not sure if the timing is legit...
  15. Being a master slayer isn't without its perks.
  16. Where did you find that intel?
  17. You can find that advice in this thread. It's been asked.
  18. People who have jobs have the upper hand on this. Most jobs don't require you to work on weekends, but university students like myself usually have a shit ton of work to do on the weekend.
  19. But that's not true. Like I said, if you read the clues and the diary, you'll always know where to look next. For example the secret passage in the kitchen is mentioned in the love notes in the sister's room.
  20. It was perfectly understandable if you read the clues and used your brain.
  21. I'd rather not dwell on issues I'll never know the truth of, to be honest. If he is working for Jagex, all the better for him, I just wish he hadn't lied to his costumers like he did.
  22. I guess they consider RSBuddy as a major victory, and like to flaunt it whenever they can.
  23. I am inclined to agree. It was very enjoyable, I'd give it a 9/10.
