  1. Even if that is so, the concept of a portal is a bit overused now. I'd love something original and maybe a bit humorous too.
  2. No portals, we have enough of that. How about tables where you can pick up some Fizzy Lifting Drink and float up? Then to get down you just start burping until ground?
  3. We had something similar for Farming. What was the teaser for farming? Them openly declaring the coming of the farming skill and giving us a month to gather seeds, mostly by pickpocketing Master Farmers, of which there were only 2, in Draynor. Damn that place was crowded.
  4. Guthix is passing a kidney stone?
  5. Don't forget, some people actually see this as something positive. I guess it'd be smart for them to make quests in two parts, with and without the storyline, but it's just too much bother. Little to no storyline is fine by me. Like how they designed tghe Freminnik Sagas? lol But really, if they do it that way, it's not a quest. More of a D&D or Miniquest/Minigame. Not quite, as you still needed to complete it both ways to get the rewards. Alot of people do quests only following guides anyway, so it really doesn't matter, atleast for them, if the story is there or not. What i'd like to see is quests with the same rewards and outcome, but all the cut-scenes and conversation is cut out or significantly shortened, instead just telling you the next thing to do right away. Guess that would be an option, but I think that if someone put the time and work into a cut scene and a story at the very least we can watch and pay attention to it. Seems only polite.

  7. Yes, quests are lacking plot lately. I mean, it's getting to be a real pain. Feels like filler. This all started with Nomad I swear.
  8. So much for Clans don't impact other players who don't clan. Yeah, I get this. It's like MA. It's not that it's really good update, just something different and interesting for the developers to code. I just hope all the work can be put to use somewhere else.
  9. Are you referring to it's many delays and rewrites to be eventually released as a quest many consider only adequate? Or something else? Well, you can at least say that the quest didn't really "fit" with the rest of the series. Only stuff about teeth, while being a farming themed series. Also, the fight was laughable to say the least, the "war" between the fairies and the orcs was turned into "me and 3 teethorcs against 3 other orcs and the godfather". There wasn't a lot of flesh in story behind it, apart from introducing the tooth fairy, who dominated the whole quest, letting us do the normal "fetch"tasks. If you compare that quest to for example te penguin series or the pirate series, you can say at least that a lot potential to make the end glorious, but it didn't. It was just a major letdown, just like the past two dwarfquests and ofcourse the deadliest catch. You started doing something, and before you could say "Whippersnapper" you have reached the "You have completed this quest"-screen, and your left with that odd feeling that a lot was missing there, plotwise but also on actions. Ohhhhh, you were talking about some developer coming up with the Tooth Fairy pun, which isn't too bad on it's own, then running with it and completely screwing up the story. I forgot... Eq, maybe the special is what poisons? It starts out as like a quarter of the damage you hit. So you hit a 200, it starts out as a 50 poinson damage. That would be cool.
  10. Jagex has no idea how much currency should be worth and they mess with it all the time. Personally I think they should stay out of it. One of the good parts of being a DIY player is never having to worry about the "economy."
  11. I imagine that you would end up having to 'downgrade' your citadel if the levels of your clan drop below the required amounts for a certain tier. Alas, this is another reason why the clan system can't cope with multi-clanning. People can [bleep] out their levels all they like, but it's probably only going to matter if those people actually stay in the clan. EDIT: I'm really hoping that this update will give us some useful content for Construction between 75 and 99. Being a show of wealth is fun and all, but this is a good opportunity to add some meat to that end of the skill. I remember them saying a while back, maybe even a year ago, that they couldn't do much with POHs because they were pushing their limits as it was. I wonder if this update's code can be retrofitted to improve POHs a bit?

  13. Well given around a year ago they made a big announcement about making an effort to finally end storylines and since then we've heard plans of how far the elf storylines and new quest. How far dwarf goes and 2(?) new quests, 2(?) new elemental workshop features. 1 or 2 new gnome quests, a new monkey quest and heaps of motm quests driving towards rotm for the mahjaratt finale. Oh and Zaros story arc showed up progression in a recent quest. etc. etc. I know, that's what I mean though. This one just feels a little... abrupt, to me.
  14. Not trying to be a jerk, but I'd have thought Michael J. Fox's signature wouldn't be that neat considering the Parkinson's.
  15. Anyone else think them ending the Sea Slug line smacks of them trying to curtail the amount of open storychains in quests?
