Oh, and you think it was just the three or so years of complaining that got free trade back instead of Jagex making their own decision in their own time? With this recent update, fair enough, I'll admit it very well could've been the complaining that made Jagex realise they could make some GP from people who don't like EOC (I imagine they took a huge hit in membership when it came out, I know I cancelled both of mine). But free trade was definitely on their own time and it was completely out of the blue for us. Complaining voices your objections, of course it works if the company has an open ear. but does it make the company act upon it? That's up for debate. I'd say more often than not it doesn't with Jagex.

All assumptions with no basis in fact other than speculation. If customers complain and a company realises there's benefits to be had by listening to their customers complaints, that = bad? I do not where you are getting this idea I am saying listening to complaints is bad from I am saying simply put Jagex DOES listen as proven by 07scape hence complaining is a GOOD way to go in annoyance of the quest delay. I simply said we have proven it works therefore it is the perfect course of action seeing as they delayed out quest for 07scape. And yes it may be assumptions, but answer me this: If there is a simple, normal reason the quest has been delayed why not address it properly in the video intro (as they have done previously) and why not tell us nicely on fb and twitter rather than trying to glaze over it and ignore it? There is no reason to if there is a valid, non-promise breaking explanation. As proven? I can guarantee you the protests regarding wilderness/free trade were much more ferocious than the protests about EOC (bare in mind people weren't actually asking for 07scape, they just didn't want EOC) and you can see how well whining worked in that case. Whining doesn't work, period. Having a legitimate complaint that Jagex can remedy is what works. If they didn't have a back up of 2007, I doubt they would've done anything. It was opportunity, not whining, that brought 2007scape here. If Jagex actually really cared enough to try and keep it a secret that it was 07 causing the delay, do you really think they'd be above lying and just blaming development issues? I don't. I'm not saying 2007 didn't cause the delay, I'm just saying we don't know so don't put forth that assumption as if it's incontrovertible fact, because it isn't. Unless you're making the assertion that no quest has ever been delayed before this?

So what? A company should never take heed of their customers complaints? That's the business model you want jagex to abide by? No, not at all. The model I'd like is one where when promised 07scape will NOT effect live game one of THE biggest most anticipated releases of the past few years does not get delayed precisely because of 07scape. People's annoyance now is by no means 07scape existing, it is simply to bring it out so soon Jagex broke THE promise they made to us that it would not effect live game. Then your previous argument regarding the method people used to get 07scape back is completely irrelevant to the point you're making. Did Jagex say the quest was coming today? No but they told us the BTS would be this friday and jmods have confirmed the quest has been delayed by a week. And my previous point about people complaining to get what they want is perfectly valid - we are complaining as loudly as possible because the 07scape whiners have proven this effective; hence in our annoyance at Jagex we shalt complain as much and as loudly as we like regardless of people telling us we should just get on and play or get over it. Oh, so it was the whining that enabled Jagex to find a back up of 2007 Runescape, I see. And it was the whining, not the prospects of making more money, that made Jagex choose to put out this version of Runescape. We know that's the case because whining got the wilderness and free trade returned to us in a matter of months. I'm glad you could provide us with your business acumen. I don't think so, otherwise they wouldn't have given different options and levels of support for the game based on the amount of votes. I think they really are trying to gauge player interest. Personally I think they should've just done 2012 scape and let people vote for that, I'm sure it would easily reach 750k votes (assuming there are an adequate number of members). But if they did that EOC would probably die. Especially if they transferred current account stats/banks.

Runescape has like 300k members tops

I just want them to either make it so there's no additional membership fee OR you have to pay members separately for 2007 or EOC. I don't see why I should have to pay members for EOC if I'm never going to play it.

Awesome, as long as Jagex doesn't mess this up I might actually come back to runescape. Knowing Jagex though they'll probably put in all the rubbish graphic updates the EOC brought along.

The only time I ever feel that homeworld vybe is in FTP and it was the best thing to me about being FTP.
