  1. I thought the 2013 article was pretty ignorant. Seems whilst playing EOC he managed to forget that there are some players out there who like PKing, which EOC killed completely. Is that a logical enough reason? That 2007scape allows you to do what you actually enjoyed about runescape?
  2. I guess I wasn't clear. So, 2007scapers like you demand to be able to only play 2007scape at no extra charge (e.g., $5 on top of "RealScape"). Jagex does something "nice" (as far as a company can be nice), and yet you still demand more than what they gave you after they already said "It'll be this way." So basically, you want it YOUR way. So your vote should be tossed out since you don't want to support the costs of aging software. Not only do Jagex have to ensure backwards compatibility with all future communication system (so 2007scape is still integrated into RuneScape and runs properly), they need to actively fix all the bugs they've already fixed that have damaging and game breaking issues. E.g., dueling arena, player-owned houses, quests, etc. Regardless of what YOU think, this costs MORE money than not supporting 2007scape. To go back to the cookie factory analogy, it would be like an old cookie recipe having to be integrated with the current cookie making process. The cookie company goes "yes, we'll let you have it for more if there's not enough interest." You know why? Because it costs MORE to process these cookies. Similarly, if there is enough interest in this old cookie that they could integrate it into the current cookie making process and still make more money, they will. I'm not asking for 07 to be free. I'm asking for it to be a separate fee. I'm not going to pay for EOC on top of 07 when I'm never going to play EOC. Since you still don't seem to understand what that means, if they make 2007scape a separate fee they will be getting money from me that they would NOT be getting with just EOC. Ergo they are making money FOR the development of 2007. I reiterate, I'm not asking for 2007scape to be free. Once more, I'm not asking for 2007scape to be free. They will be making money from 2007scape by making it a separate fee that they will NOT make by forcing people to buy EOC when they do not want to. Do you understand? Perhaps not. I'm not asking for 2007scape to be free. Did it sink in that time? I'm asking for there to be a separate fee for 2007scape, a separate fee for EOCscape, and you pay BOTH fees if you want to play BOTH. I'm not asking for 2007scape to be free. I'm not asking for 2007scape to be free. No it's like signing a contract that doesn't bind you at all, not liking how greedy the contractors become and just walking away. I'm not going to be suing Jagex over this they just won't get my irl gp, for 2007scape or EOCscape. They lose.
  3. This is actually a really good idea. From what I understand, a lot of people have come back just to play 07Scape and have no interest in the main game at all. If they don't reach the level to make it one price for both, this, combined with OrTradeMe's idea of a reduced fee for both, would definitely be the way to go to ensure it's longevity. That sums me up, 07Scape is the only reason I came back to RS and started paying Jagex again. If I have to pay for the main game as well then I'll just quit again. Most of my friends are in the same boat. See what I hate about this whole thing is you and all your friend were too ignorant to read in the first place and shouldn't have voted if your not willing to back it. Had Jagex been more upfront about how things were going to work there would have been less knee jerk reactions and this farse wouldn't have made it nearly this far. So, just to clarify, you're saying we should've not tried to help it get to 500k+ votes because it might not get to 500k votes? Do you also tell people voting in politics is pointless because the dude you vote for might not win? Hardly demanding the whole factory by just asking if you can purchase the cookie you like without buying a cookie you do not like.

  5. http://www.zybez.net...g_a_melee_pure/ I used this for my 10 def pure, but it zerker stuff too. This is a good guide - http://www.mm-rs.org...e-perfect-pure/ Made in 2010 but I'm sure useful information could still be gleaned from it. Dude who made it is 1 def with comp cape stats.
  6. Where did I do that? "A fair portion" = The entire EOC community? That's not what Ad Hominem is, by the way. It would be Ad Hominem if I was insulting him to make his argument (which was actually just an insult against the 07 community) look worse. I was not doing that as his argument was already poor, I was just pointing out that he's the EOC version of the portion of the 2007 community he hates. Last but not least, I get called stupid in this very thread for liking a different version of runescape and that's all cool but I'm an [wagon] for telling you to learn what words mean? Right.
  7. Rage. ...which I ask subside quickly before people start getting in trouble. C'mon guys and gals, let's try and be a bit more civil, yes? Zerker Jane, the original newspost said that if they get between 250k and 500k supporters then the 07 servers will come back "with a smaller additional membership fee of around $5 extra." This indicates pretty clearly that people will have to pay an extra $5/month on top of the existing membership fee in order to access the 07 servers. But considering the count is at nearly 400k, it seems pretty likely it will reach the 500k+ mark so that 07Scape will not cost anything extra. And I said I interpreted their comment differently, you're saying I didn't interpret it that way and am lying about how I interpreted it? I never once claimed either way was fact. Maybe you should read what I'm typing before replying to it. Then I guess any discussion between us would become fruitless. It really is hopeless trying to respond when you just spew out a bunch of exaggerations and assumptions. It's ironic that he doesn't see how he epitomises a fair portion of the pro-EOC community perfectly. Self righteousness and hubris galore. :?... Can you please be a bit more civil? There's really no need at all for this ad hominem stuff. Most people on this board are experienced enough to see straight past it. I could quite easily level that accusation at some of pro-PK 07scapers. It wouldn't advance the discussion very far, though. How about we both admit that every community has its fair share of bad apples? Whatever version of RuneScape they're playing is completely irrelevant to that, surely. I think you need to learn what Ad Hominem means.
  8. Will they still have the summoning and dungeoneering icons?
  9. I'm not implying anything I said I was under the impression that 2007 will have a separate fee based on how I interpret what Jagex said. Then people started talking shit and I replied. I haven't seen Jagex explicitly say you must buy both PTP and 2007 membership to just play 2007.
  10. What exactly do you think the word "additional" means? Are you purposely feigning ignorance? Are you purposely feigning stupidity? I just said, since its a members only poll they could be assuming the people interested are already members and saying it will be an additional $5. That's how I read it. Yes an additional fee to normal membership - ergo both the base normal membership is required and the additional fee. Regardless of someones membership status it cannot be an additional fee if they are not paying a fee in the first place, that is what additional means. Just like you cannot have additional sky TV packages without sky tv in the first place. .....That contradicts nothing that I posted.

  13. If Jagex actually make you pay for EOC as well, you're right. I was under the impression that you could pay $5 for 2007 and then an additional $5 if you want EOC too. Making people pay for EOC when they don't want to play it will obviously drive members away, I won't play if I have to pay for both when I only want to play 2007. They got one month subscriptions because they want to play 2007 not EOC. I did the same thing. I'll be cancelling my members if I have to pay for both. This right here is why I've chosen to ignore all the ramblings of the pro 07 group. Most if not all of them are too stupid to go and read all the facts and see whats coming their way. Stfu, they said an additional fee, doesn't necessarily mean they aren't just assuming you'll be buying EOC too. No need to be a douchebag about it.

  15. Probably higher than EOC playing figures. not likely considering its currently free and new content and is still significantly lower. (40k vs either 56k or 96k (not sure if homepage numbers include 07scape numbers)) Members vs members even subtracting f2p EOC currently has ~10k more players. Stop living in a fantasy world. And you think it's good that the 2013 version of the game is barely scraping above the 2007 version? 3 months is a long time, plenty of time for Jagex to update EOC into the dirt.
  16. I doubt I'm alone in this but I don't play 2007scape for the nostalgia, I play it because I like Runescape and don't like EOC. The assumption people in your camp seem to be making is that people are only playing it because "omg 2007 wus so much fun!1!!", for a lot of people that's not the case.
  17. is the sky blue does that mean it's never any other colour I said members vs members (I.E not including FTPers) 2007scape will probably have more players in 3 months time than EOC. Tell me how that's a plain denial of stark reality. Are you a psychic? A time traveller? How's the delorean holding up these days?
  18. He can do no worse than your attempts at statistical verification before making your own posts. And what pray tell is wrong with speculation regarding statistics? Please point out the post where I made out that my speculation was fact, thanks.
  19. Probably higher than EOC playing figures. not likely considering its currently free and new content and is still significantly lower. (40k vs either 56k or 96k (not sure if homepage numbers include 07scape numbers)) Members vs members Measuring members vs members wouldn't do 07scape any favour seeing as (how it currently stands) 07scape would be an additional fee on top of members or if it breaches 500k will cost members. Therefore the number of 07scapers can never exceed the number of members, only equal it at best. Do you read what you post before you post it
  20. 224 days 0 hours, I'm surprised it's that high. Pre-2007 I played about 2 hours a week, but I've been playing 2007 all weekend.

  22. You make it sound like Jagex didn't already have 500k+ votes planned from the get go lol. I'm sure we'd be seeing a lot more incentives if the votes hadn't reached 50k by now. "100 free spins when you vote for old school runescape"
  23. Does anyone have a fire/chaos or nature talisman they can sell me?
