  1. How do you suggest people do this though? I'm actually interested in what I can do to help defend my faith to the better, so if you have any good ideas PM me or something. But I've had a lot of debates about Christianity and religion, and I defend my faith to the best of my ability, but it usually isn't enough. I look things up on the internet, and sometimes that helps, but people have soooo many different theological views about certain things in the Bible, I have a hard time weeding out the good stuff from the bad stuff. I think in college, if there is one available, I would like to try to take some kind of apologetics class. Agreed. That and a lot of people think Christians are hypocrites. That's because they met a few like that, and labled all Christians to be the same, I think. I would get more in depth about this, but I think I would offend certain types of Christians. Nothing wrong with offending other Christians. The Bible teaches that we are supposed to confront other believers if they are in the wrong. You might as well say it.
  2. Ha, same here, except that it was a poem. It was absolutely horrible, and I'm ashamed that I wrote such a thing. I also feel sorry for whatever idiot thought it was good enough to publish. :P Congrats, Rcty! :)
  3. Frodo doesn't seem to be here right now, but I believe he would respond something like this. "u guys suck. if ure to stupid to understnad what the * im talkin bout, than im not even gunna waste my time talkin to u. im not postin here nemore. stupid idot playas."
  4. Frodo, how in the world can you accuse him of being a "playa," when what he said has nothing to do with that point of view, and everything you say identifies you as one? And wish your girlfriend luck with raising livestock. Donkeys, no matter how great they are, are difficult animals.
  5. I merely asked a question, and your answer to that question is no. There's no need to antogonize me.
  6. I noticed several comments along the lines of "These people have money and good looks; what do they have to be depressed about?" My question to y'all is this: Are such material things all that determine happiness? Is environment all that determines happiness? Is it possible that there's more to the equation, a factor that would explain why people feel the need to act depressed, and why people actually do become depressed?
  7. Ha, cologne is awesome, and the ladies almost always appreciate a guy who smells good. I've got an aunt in the cologne business, so she hooks me up with some nice stuff. I love smelling great - whether it's the smell of cologne or of sweat and grass, I always smell like a man.
  8. I'll keep that in mind if you oppose my attempt to take over the world.
  9. The moral of this thread? All stereotypes are stupid.
  10. Goodness, Mad needs to get back in here and "spread the love." :P Seriously, what's with you people? I don't care what age you are, what "scene" you claim to be, what music you listen to - you're all acting horribly. How about y'all shape up and act as if you have a bit of maturity? Even if no one else does, take the high road and stop bashing everyone. Just cut it out before you get this thread locked.
  11. Alright, I was going to post, but two other people said almost exactly what I was going to, so I'll just quote them. :P

That just says, "You're fat." Then you have to buy her the flowers to say, "I'm sorry." :P

First off, let me tell you to ignore those who made fun of y'all playing board games together. It's refreshing to see fellow teenagers who can just enjoy each other's presence. Keep treasuring those simple times together, and y'all may have many more happy months together. (I speak from experience.) :) As for the date, just be creative. Consider what you like and what she likes, rather than ask for other's ideas. If you must ask for advice, ask her, ask her friend, ask your parents, or ask her parents, if you feel comfortable doing so. People who know the two of you can give much better advice than those of us who don't know her. Keep it simple, and don't try to force romance. Just let it come naturally.
  14. Have you ever taken a really hot shower while you were stressed out, one so hot that it would hurt normally? It's relaxing, the pain relieves the stress. I've been told that cutting oneself is much like an extreme case of that. That doesn't make it any better, but it does explain why some people do it. The pain takes their minds off the stress.
  15. I believe in the magical, in the miraculous. I believe that if miracles exist at all, then everything that exists is a miracle. So many simple things can inspire such wonder - looking into a baby's eyes, gazing up at the stars, reading a story with which you truly identify, hearing a moving song, walking in the woods, or watching a fearsome storm. I would say that not only is the inexplicable miraculous, but also the understood. I know that music is composed of a series of varying soundwaves, but that doesn't diminish the beauty of a song. I know that tree leaves change colors because chlorophyll breaks down, but I still feel wonder at walking in the woods in autumn. I know that DNA is the building block of life, yet a child has a value far beyond his or her genetic makeup. The magic lies not in a thing's inexplicability, nor in our ability to understand it. To me, how something works is not the miracle. That it does work is the miracle. Why should a few nucleic acids determine how a person looks? Why should chemicals breaking down produce stunning displays of color? Why should a few noises in a certain sequence produce such emotion in me? The answer? They're miracles. Special works of God. Everything, from a smile, to a storm, to how a cell works, to how a brain works, to how a river system works, to stories, to music, to an ant colony, to love - everything, no matter how common or incomprehensible - is a miracle. There's not one square inch of this universe that isn't magic; God created it all. The more I study that creation, and the more I understand of how it works, the greater wonder it inspires in me. If the creation is this wonderful, how much more so the Creator!

Haha! Thank you so much for reminding me of that! I was going to watch the Pirates review a while back, only to realize that my speakers were no longer working. By the time I replaced the speakers, I'd forgotten about the video. I just watched it, and it was great! :P

  18. Pushups. Lots of them. Then go eat some beef. That ought to put some hair on your chest. Or if you're too lazy to do that, just go visit some of these websites.

  21. I also just shave my face. I take pride in my hairy, manly arms and legs. Pit hair doesn't bother me, I don't have too much on my chest or back, and there's other places that I'd rather not take a razor to. :P
  22. Aw man, that's awesome! :P Now he can use his car as a personal bulletin board. If I ever get the chance, I am so stealing y'all's idea. :P
  23. Devil's Dictionary, I presume? Good book. :P I very much agree with the spirit of the quote, too. I took the test earlier, so I can't copy-paste my scores, but I'm pretty sure it was something like 96% Christian, 56% Jew, 50% Buddhist.
  24. Do you actually know any teenage guys?
  25. With absolutely no intention of fun-making or anything else malicious, may I ask how old you are? Still 16, a few weeks from 17. It's not like I haven't had the chance - my last girlfriend and I were together for 15 months - but we chose not to. Let's just say I (and she) have rather different views on dating than most people do.
