  1. Allow me to politely disagree. If he truly believes that the person will go to hell for not following Christ, then isn't he trying to improve the man's life by telling him to repent? Sure, I've seen pastors who only wanted to gain more church members so they could have more money, but I've also seen plenty of sincere Christians whose desire to witness is motivated solely by love. Just so you know, a "good Christian" who follows Christ's teachings would *not* keep his faith to himself. Christ's final command before He left earth was or for a slightly different rendering of that command, turn to Matthew 28 Now this line made me a little mad. Sir, show me where in the Bible it says we are God's way of saving humanity. The Bible clearly teaches that Christ alone can save. We are to be messengers who tell people of Christ's power to save, but we have no power to save people in and of ourselves.
  2. We got out on Tuesday, earlier this week. I can't imagine going to school all the way through June or July.
  3. As a Christian, I disagree with Wicca and believe it is wrong. However, the state has no right to prohibit a citizen from practicing it. Neither does it have the right to tell a teacher he can't display the 10 Commandments in a class room, or the right to suspect a man of supporting terrorism simply because he's Muslim, or the right to remove prayer from public events. I personally believe that Wicca shouldn't be taught, but I would never give the state the right to make it illegal. If they state could rule against Wicca, it could just as easily make Christianity illegal. Then again, Christianity was illegal, or at least frowned upon, during most of it's early life, and it experienced huge growth then. I don't really think that's relevant to this situation though. But still, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I want to be able to worship God without the state telling me I can't, so I believe they should also have the right to worship as they please. To my fellow Christians: if you don't want people practicing Wicca, evangelize. :)
  4. I just saw it today, and I loved it, apart from one little detail... General Grevous coughed! Since when do robots get physically ill? The only plausible reason for it is that his maker programmed it into him, but what moron programs a robot to have a chronic cough??? Besides that, I loved the action sequences, it tied most everything to the original films nicely, and the dialogue between Padme and Anakin could have used some work. Over all - one thumb and two pinky fingers up.
  5. I'm actually planning on starting that book after I finish Monster, by Peretti. It looks quite good. I'd highly recommend anything by Ted Dekker. He writes fast-paced, thought provoking fiction. He does everything from psycological thrillers to romances to fantasy. I'd say either the Circle Trilogy (Black, Red, and White) or Thr3e would be a good place to start.
  6. Jacen Solo or Vergere. Since reading Traitor, the two of them are the forefront of my mind when Star Wars in mentioned. As far as characters in the movies are concerned, Palpatine is by far my favorite. I hate him, but I can't help but admire the man. The man's a genius. Imagine if he'd avoided the dark side...
  7. Why are they so "_REALY_" bad? Everybody seems to be saying they're all so amazingly bad, but I havn't heard anybody saying WHY they are so amazingly bad. " " http://www.chefelf.com/starwars/ep1_1-10.php http://www.chefelf.com/starwars/ep2_1-10.php Happy now? :P This guy may be harsh and overcritical, but at least he gives the reasons for his disdain of the movies. :P
  8. I've had books (namely When Heaven Weeps, by Ted Dekker) make me cry, but never a movie. Now, the last bit of Ladder 49 made me sad, but not near enough to make me cry.
  9. "I have a clean butt." "Two men can't have kids." "Yet." My friends have said things much funnier than either of those, but most of them would require too much explaining.
  10. So you don't believe in action, friction, or a nation? :P Anyway, I don't believe in luck or superstitions. I do, however, believe in God's providence. :) Besides, Friday was a wonderful day. :D

That's not true, I use it and I only have MSN... I use it because of the customisability, lack of BS, and the way it doesn't waste loads of space like MSN. On trillian when you talk to ME you have a name which *I* have assigned to you (no stupid long names thanks), you use the font of MY choosing (no yellow fonts or wingdings thanks). Actually, there's also a client for AIM that does all that - Middle Man. It has a log viewer, the ability to assign names and fonts to everyone else (I love that, especially when talking to female friends who use huge purple and green fonts.), and several other privacy features. I'm not sure if it's as good as Trillian, but it's always worked well for me.
  13. Well, maybe the night before, but I can't do that the day of the race. The last time I tried eating spaghetti before running, I almost vomitted all over the place. Speaking of that, NEVER, EVER eat a hamburger before a 5k. Don't ask me how I know.

Hey man. Glad to see you around the boards again. I always enjoyed your posts. :)
  15. Sweet Jesus, what an amazing article. I almost died of laughing when I read it, damn, I think I can pass my sit-ups for today. :P Amen... rofl. :P Anyway, I guess I need to make this post somehow be on topic... erm... don't eat lots of fat and stuff, just eat lots red meat, protein, and exercise alot. Oh yeah, and drink lots of water - it's great for building muscle.
  16. Congrats, man. Being an uncle is kind of like being a grandparent. You get to play with the kid, love them, and experience all the best things about having little kids, and yet you don't have to deal with as many difficult situations as the parents do. :P Well, good luck to you, your sister, Anna, and your family. God bless. :)
  17. Yup, or at least here in the U.S.
  18. I'd just like to wish the best to any mothers on this forum. And to all the non-mothers, give your mom a hug, or call her and tell her how much you appreciate her. After how much moms do for their kids, they more than deserve a day of thanks and recognition.
  19. Lol, how true, Dark Tigra. I can't stand how all of those guys give Christians such a bad name. Heck, if they knew anything about the early Christian evangelists or Christ himself, they'd know that they would never have taken money for healings or miracles. One man even offered Peter money if he would gift him with the Holy Spirit, and Peter cursed him, lol. In the Bible, the only thing the Apostles took money for was to provide for the Christians in Jerusalem.
  20. Sorry, but I just had to point this out. In your example, the stupid person did draw his own conclusions, no matter how incorrect they may be. :P Anyway, I don't have much respect for the steriotypical hippie, but I try not to judge people based on steriotypes.
  21. It's not near so much of a scam as some TV evangelists, but even Scripture disproves his idea. Why would a city 1,411,200 square miles large (one ninth the size of the US) be inhabited by only 400,000 people?
  22. Sitting outside during a storm with the wind blowing, rain pouring, lightning striking, thunder rolling, and tornado sirens going off. Getting caught up in a good book. Sharing and inside joke with a friend. Most of all, silently sitting on a porch swing with my girlfriend and just being with her. :)
  23. I think this was posted a while back, but it's still funny. :) My favorites are... Sigmund Freud's Answer: The fact that you are at all concerned that the chicken crossed the road reveals your underlying sexual insecurity. Douglas Adams's Answer: Forty-two. Epicurus's Answer: For fun. Colonel Sanders' Answer: I missed one? :P
  24. Age: 15 Weight:135 (I'm a cross country and track runner. :P) Max Bench: 105 Max Squat: No idea. Max Deadlift: No idea. Max Incline: No idea. Fastest Mile Time: 5:49 Fastest Three Miles Time: 19:57 :P
  25. Sorry, but this is something I just can't support. I don't see why gays deserve a special day to honor their sexual orientation. Heck, you might as well have a "porn-addict's rights day" or an "adulterer's rights day." They're all sexually immoral, and I see no reason to support that. Now, before you start flaming me and saying that I'm just discriminating, let me explain something. I used to be in that same boat, because I was addicted to porn for a while. I consider that just as bad as homosexuality or adultery. I'm sure there's guys here who know what that's like and how horrible it is to be trapped in lust like that. I wasn't able to quit until I came to know Christ, and I'm still recovering from the mental and emotional scars. Based on my experience with sexual immorality, I don't think homosexuality should be encouraged in any way, shape, or form. Rather, I think we should provide them with counselling and help them recover and be normal. Mods, sorry if anything in there is offensive or inappropriate, but that's my view of the situation.
