Wow, Do I have bad grammar...
I could type this out, but why do it when Rick explained it so well in his Writing Guide? In short, an apostrophe is used for nearly all possessive forms, whether the noun being made possessive is proper or not. To AThousandLies: :P :)

Wow, Do I have bad grammar...
He said "peoples" is a word, which you denied. He never used the words correct or incorrect. I was referring to being grammatically correct. I already confessed that you were grammatically correct; I simply made the claim that, contrary to what you said, 'peoples' is a word.

Wow, Do I have bad grammar...
Should be "I used to always correct people's grammar on World of Warcraft". :) Wouldn't it be " peoples' ". I thought the apostrophe went after the word if it was a collective. No, it shouldn't, actually. "Peoples" is not a word. People is the collective. :) You're right that it shouldn't be "peoples" in this case, but "peoples" is a word. ;)

Hurricane Katrina
We're starting to get the rain and wind here in Memphis, now. I hope we get some good lighting and thunder along with it. Everyone in New Orleans, Mobile, and the rest of the area hit hardest has my prayers. :(

country music!
I'm a huge fan of country, even though I live in the birthplace of rock and roll. Garth Brooks is hard to beat, but Alan Jackson is a close second to him on my list. Lonestar, Rascal Flats, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Vince Gill - they're all good. :P Granted, I don't like the majority of modern country as much as the older stuff (but I do like it). Some of it is just too much like pop/rock for my taste. I love alot of the 90's country, and the old, classic country songs are great too, even though I hardly ever hear them anymore. Just a few of my favorite songs, in no particular order... Standing Outside the Fire - Garth Brooks Callin' Baton Rouge - Garth Brooks That Summer - Garth Brooks The Dance - Garth Brooks Don't Take the Girl - Tim McGraw It's Your Love - Tim McGraw She's Got the Rhythm, and I've Got the Blues - Alan Jackson Chasin' That Neon Rainbow - Alan Jackson Livin' on Love - Alan Jackson Amazed - Lonestar Walkin' in Memphis - Lonestar I'm Already There - Lonestar Keeper of the Stars - Tracy Byrd Every Light in the House is On - Trace Adkins Don't Happen Twice - Kenny Chesney Sold - John Michael Montgomery I Love The Way You Love Me - John Michael Montgomery She Don't Know She's Beautiful - Sammy Kershaw It's a Great Day To Be Alive - Travis Tritt Achy Breaky Heart - Billy Ray Cyrus The Devil Went Down To Georgia - The Charlie Daniels Band Boy Named Sue - Johnny Cash (how can you not love this song?) Carrying Your Love With Me - George Strait Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man - Conway Twitty & Loretta Lynn Baby's Got Her Blue Jeans On -- Mel McDaniel Boot Scootin' Boogie -- Brooks & Dunn Mountain Music -- Alabama Ok, I know I said "a few", but I got carried away. xD

Anti Steriotypes
I'm a straight-A student who watches Star Trek, yet I'm athletic and have a serious girlfriend. :P I'm from Memphis, but I don't really care for Elvis, and I've never even been to Graceland.

Legos
I love Legos. :) I used to collect tons of them when I was younger. I still have a whole wall of my room lined with them, even though I don't even touch them anymore (expect to repair them when they get broken). I should take some pictures of some of my stuff to show y'all. . .

Going to Chicago: What should I do?
Well then, I hope you know that everyone is expecting you to give a full account of your trip, typing up every excruciating detail. xD

Going to Chicago: What should I do?
Eat at the ESPN Zone for a late or early lunch. If it's not crowded, you can eat in one of the big recliners in front of the big screen TV (a HUGE TV). Even if you're like me and don't give a care about watching sports, it's a fun lunch. :P

Sorry, but since when is God greedy? Im pretty sure their reffering to him wanting everyones worship and not wishing anyone to worship a "false" god. Ok, thanks. Now the reference to the first commandment makes sense. :) The Biblical God is not greedy for commanding us to worship Him alone, as it is for our happiness and His glory that he does so. I believe that those two things are not at odds, but rather that they are the same. I've got to go to dinner, but when I get back I'll back up that statement. Psalms 100: 2 "Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs." I seem to have lost my notes on the subject, but John Piper has said many times "God is most glorified in you when you are most satisfied in Him." Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Plato teach that man should find truth and comform himself to it, and that brought true happiness? Maybe that was Aristotle, but I forget. Whether they taught that or not is beside the point - it's what I believe. In Christianity, God is truth ("I am the way, the Truth, and the life."), so in order to find happiness, you must comform yourself to God by worshipping Him. He wants your to worship Him not because He's greedy, but because He deserves your worship and worshipping Him is what's best for you.- A question for fellow athiests

Yeah, I think they're called Logical Fallacys. They can be true logically, but they can't be proved. An example: Kenny lies whenever he says something. Kenny says something. Hence, you can assume he's lieing. I can't really explain the relevancy between that statement and the equation 1=2, but basically, it can be true, but only in one way. And in that one way, it's still not true. Basically an endless contridiction or proving it false or true, hence Circular Reasoning. Guh, I don't think that made much sense, but neither does what I'm trying to explain. And if Kenny says that he always lies, what are we to make of that? :P .33 repeating = 1/3 .33 repeating * 3 = 1/3 * 3, correct? [.33 repeating * 3 = .99 repeating], and [1/3 * 3 = 3/3], which = 1 (brackets used for clarification) So, .99 repeating = 3/3 = 1 So yes, .33 repeating does equal 1. :P- 1 = 2 and others! Watch!
Another way to do that... 1/3 = .3 repeating 1/3 * 3 = 3/3 .3 repeating * 3 = .9 repeating .9 repeating = 3/3 = 1 :P Nice topic.- Down the lonely road of Crime
Actually, in my experience, if you tell them that they gave you an extra order, they'll just give it to you anyway since it's already prepared. When that happens, you get free fries AND a clean conscience. :P /goes to get dinner- when you grow up, what will you be?
When I grow up, I want to be a husband and a father. Of course, that hardly pays the bills, so I'd like to be a writer, or possibly an architect.- A question for fellow athiests
No it doesnt :-/ light travels at approximately 186,000 miles (or 300,000,000 meters) per second. We know that the stars are millions of miles away and so you can work out how long its taken the light to reach earth and therefor an approximate "youngest possible age". That hardly proves the age of the universe to a Christian, though. It's entirely possible (and likely) that God created the universe with most processes already in place. He could create the stars with light that already reached to earth. He could create trees or animals that were already full grown, mountains that were already formed, and so on and so forth.- A question for fellow athiests
From a Biblical perspective, the people early on wouldn't have needed a Bible to tell them about God. Everyone had come from one source (Adam and Eve), and humanity would have been fairly centralized, I imagine. The oral tradition that would have been passed down from Adam and Eve would have told them everything they needed to know. Ten generations from creation, along came the flood. After it, Noah and his family would have passed on that oral tradition all over again. And by the time the first parts of the Bible were actually written, they still weren't needed that much, because God still communicated with His people by speaking to them back then. I'm not sure I explained that right, so feel free to tell me if you don't see my reasoning. So understanding lightning is proof that there's no Zeus or Thor or God? Prove to me that Thor isn't sitting in the sky, undetectable to us, causing static electricity to build up between the clouds and the earth to create lighning. For all you know, our scientific understanding of lightning is simply explain the method the gods use to create lightning. I don't know much about all that stuff, but you might want to take up the old earth/young earth issue with tttia in the "creation vs evolution" thread. I think you're missing the point of a hypothetical situation.- Wow, They Lock Too Many Topics...Chill You Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was banned for a week because of her for "hateful flaming." I asked why she didn't think to post knitting related questions in the other two knitting topics she started in offtopic, both of which were unlocked. 2 weeks later i returned to find multiple private messages from her suggesting that i should "ram my replies up my wagon" and im "a total f*cking idiot." What happened? Nout. Hooray for justice! Him, strangely enough. On topic, this isn't my forum; it belongs to the admins, and they've appointed the mods to run it. I don't always agree with them; in fact, I've disagreed with several of the topics they've locked, and I think they've left several open that should have been locked. But like I said, it's not my forum, so I don't have much right to tell them what to do. Now, if one of them makes a really bad judgement call, in my opinion, then I'd be sure to PM him/her about it, but I don't complain in general. - how HOT?
