There is still demand for a good artist. I would suggest learning some more technical art skills (photoshop, or illistrator), but definitely work on an art portfolio. I don't think you should write it off. If you are talented there is an entire world with industries who need good artists. As far as finances go, perhaps you have to do a bit of work yourself. That may include exploring bigger cities where artistic talent is needed. Maybe contact some colleges to see what kind of financial aid you can get (I am not sure what country you are from, but in the U.S. you can get some decent loans and scholarships to take care of most of what you need provided you have decent grades). Worst case scenario you work a job while attending college to support yourself. Personally, my only concern is getting into digital art to begin with since every computer I own was for the family, meaning it wasn't suited for an artistic. I am thinking of doing what my sister did and wait it for a few years to prepare myself (although she chose to marry her high school boyfriend and have three children) while saving up for new media to work with. My talent is mainly with creativity and thinking up ideas. As for exploring cities, I am an hour's drive from one with a really good art college. Their founder actually visited my class to promote her school two to three times in high school, which got me to think about it.
  8. People who counter "US has bad/terrible laws" argument by mentioning only third world countries and minor laws of other developed nations, ignoring the existence countries that beat out America in certain categories. More irritating how they imply that I was planning to move out of the US when I never suggested it.
  9. Another one. What kind of harpy shall we make you? How about Alf Harpy? Your avatar makes me think of him (even though it isn't Alf) Maybe Manipulative Trickster or Sacrificial Lion?
  10. Makes you hope humanity falls off the totem pole sometimes, doesn't it?
  11. Economy is still in crap mode and people are focused on the hold their religion has in society... ...
  12. It's more of (somewhat dark) creativity more than the art that is my talent according to my art teacher from Junior Year. I am thinking of what else I could try that lets me make use of that. How terrible when you focus on something you want to do long enough to the point you forget what else you're capable of. This is making me rethink things.
  13. To be honest, I think only art that can profit now is designing. Other that than, you're essentially screwed unless you can move that many people, which is essentially impossible these days. Unless you make something severely appalling and piss people off. You won't get the money, but you can somewhat cash in on the death threats.
  14. >Implying I am that humane. >Still brings up an interesting point. Could use that stuff to make myself appear human to others. Anything to cure my boredom is better than nothing.
  15. At 11am, I was watching random stuff on TV. I need something to do.
  16. All work and no play makes a harpy bored as [bleep].
  17. And is cheap. I paid 1.3m (not much imo) for the staff and the spores/fire runes are a joke. You know, I should test mine out too.
  18. Not worth my ammo.
  19. I do knot see the point of this forum game, or why its funny.
  20. Anyways, here's the picture of the old watercolor/ink painting I did as a Junior in High School. Because I suck at taking care of things, the color dulled out and it looks like a mess. Since it was meant to be expressive, I can still feel the anger I had when I originally did it (incompetent school "counselor" makes me rage). The paper still feels fuzzy from overdoing the water when I painted it.

*has a dartboard* Ooh, good idea! :P You know what the guy is interested in, right? Just go form there and see what you can give him.
