The F2P General Discussion Thread
Formerly_Deathknell replied to lionesshunt's topic in General Discussion
That's like you rationalizing living with a boyfriend who beats you because all your stuff is there and you don't want to have to find another apartment. -
Nope, already asked him, he said that the time is not yet ripe for a Liam Neeson-like rampage. Good news though, he did tell me that they will use the money saved from F2P hiscore removal to hire Liam Neeson himself for said rampage. There is one method of eliminating RWT though, that is bound to work. We just have to wait for real world currencies to devalue enough so that RS gold is actually worth more than RW currency. This won't actually eliminate RWT, but since RS gold will be the better currency, it will be renamed VWT, virtual world trading, at which point Jagex will encourage it but the national tax services will attempt to ban it. Ha ha, no seriously though, all this RWT talk makes me think of all the dicers raging on the O-forums about dicing removal. They all said "don't even talk to me about dicing leading to RWT, Jagex could easily ban RWT's if they wanted to". I always thought in response--then why haven't you been banned yet? *rimshot* It's all jokes and laughs, but it's funny because it's mostly true. Except the Liam Neeson part, MMG would never turn down that glory. Actually the idea of MMG saving the game is much funnier. The only way to destroy MMG at this point is by throwing him into Mount Doom.

Runescape Discussion: Why do you play?
Formerly_Deathknell replied to Kilo's topic in General Discussion
In more realisitic words Will, inertia? :P And I've found a reason why I play. To say pervy things to Ezkaton to make him feel awkward. -
Agreed. You ever get the feeling this isnt about Jagex but about trying to ruin everyone elses enjoyment of the game? Just like the kid who takes his ball back when he cant get his own way. One of the reasons why Im glad the high scores were done was because F2Pers never appreciated what they had. I dont recall ever reading a single post where a pure F2Per made the point of how they were thankful for getting what they had and it was wrong to keep asking for more. Theres even a sticky for it as it was such a culture with F2Ps expectations (Why cant P2P have....). When the high score thing was initially announced it put the icing on the cake with the attitude that came with it. I wont hold my breath on the quitters. Most will be back or theyll just pretend to quit. From my point of view, its a shame they will be back. Id rather they just left. If the negative clan who are still sticking around here really want their tonne pound of flesh then an anti-jagex sticky is what is needed. Perhaps Tipit would be so good as to put a sticky somewhere into the rants forum. They can then discuss all their 'issues'. The likes of Deathnell, Makoto, Crocefisso, Ring world, Sonniku, DV etc would benefit from dealing with their Jagex issues. I'm sure you'll all have a really good time in there discussing how Jagex........................(put own slab of 100% pure beef here and instead of French fries just top it all off with that rather large chip on your shoulder). You complain about us, but you seem to be the one I always see whining.

Runescape Discussion: Why do you play?
Formerly_Deathknell replied to Kilo's topic in General Discussion
I have no good answer anymore. -
I'm not drama queening it out. I'm not predicting the end of the game or anything. I said two things: I think the new design suck and I'm tired of people kissing ass for no understand, at least to me, reason. I give my opion on things that are a lot more than things that might be. That being said maybe someone should put shots in the back of Runescape's head and call it a mercy killing? :P

Can't you just quit the forums too instead of sticking around and being a negative nancy? In this economy? Who can't come up with $5, I can't think of a single issue. Its such a small amount of money. How much money do you spend on fast food in a month? Id rather the limit then gold farmers continue and I support this 110%. Oh and btw, I'm sure you'll be back playing in a few weeks or atleast logging on to 'catch up'. Hey, Atleast you can still pretend that you aren't playing now right? :) I'd rather a Negative Nancy than a Bootlicking Billy. <_<

You people act like Jagex screws up without thinking. That they just blunder their way through it. I don't think people are giving Jagex their credit due. It takes a lot of hard work to screw things up this badly. You have to have meetings, committees, memos, phonecalls. Then you gotta direct exactly how bad you want the website to be to the appropriate team, then overview it and see it's still useable to some people, send back notes and have them worked out. All in all it's very hard work. And I love how in the old thread people were telling me they have more members than ever and they are making tons of cash. Also remember, that with the grace period, that is the max amount of members they have. Some of them will be people with expired memberships. Probably about equal to the members not ranked.

The new website makes me feel like I'm going to have a seizure.

Should put RS HD update in there (date?). That was a very significant change. You mean the mode that's great for taking pictures, but otherwise practically unplayable for most people due to lag issues? -

No, just seriously need a change in leadership. Boot out MMG. He's been terrible in my opinion. The problem through all of this is that Jagex has always been, still is, and very likely will be very secretive about everything. It's one thing about future content, I get that. But the rest, it's always very hidden. Never any idea what's going on. I hate that. <_< From time to time they let you in on something or explain something, but that's usually after 6 months of people asking them about something before they finally talk about it. Their communication is a joke.
