  1. What if everyone just let their membership lapse for a month, but continued to play on the f2p servers. That way they'd have to pay the bill for us not giving them money. :)
  2. I'm not quitting. I'm not spitting poison. I don't have sour grapes about the high scores. I simply think that it's a bad call, a bad move, and done with blatant misdirection and I abhor the direction that Jagex is going with it. I don't want the game to fail. I don't want it to die. I want Jagex to do better and I want them to be honest with us.
  3. Saving the good stuff for members is one thing, but such an underappreciated team as the sound guys deserve all the recognition they could get.
  4. I don't personally suscribe to the "this update will make everyone quit" mantra. I do however believe that a bunch of little stuff over time will eventually pile up on people and as the people hit their respective breaking points, they'll leave. This hiscores thing is in my opinion, just another stone, maybe a larger stone, added to the scale.
  5. While I generally don't go saying f2o should have things, I think they should've gotten this quest. It's near enough to the f2p world, nothing massive for rewards, no members skills needed, and more people to appreciate the music teams work.
  6. As a 26 year old female, I could be lured into a bastket of teddy bears. As long as you send the chil'runs on their way, not a ped. Can't speak for anybody with a basket of teddy bears over a RV though.
  7. I'd have to say at this point giving money to Jagex is giving money to charity.
  8. Don't knock teddy bears, they're a chick magnet. ;-) Exactly, they're a chick magnet. That's why sleeping in a basket of them says you're a girl. If it said, "Trying to lure some chicks into my basket of teddy bears," then we'd know you're a guy. Not necessarily entailed, despite implicature - you're excluding bi-curious/lesbian females. On Topic; I don't quite like the trend of doom-saying articles... I wonder whether that'll change. I am a bi-sexual female and I included myself. Don't know about the butch lesbians though. And Amorare is a dummy for calling you a he. Your gender is obvious. If I had male genitalia I'd totally do you. ;)
  9. My numbers say that you're full of crap. Your numbers say nothing. They do not differentiate between income from Runescape, Funorb, that other game they have, the chinese history one, whatever. Also that doesn't include income they may have taken in their store. It doesn't list anything about the amount of people that play, how many accounts per person, etc. I see nothing about gross income versus net income. Nothing about added players or customer retention. And keeping in mind that the increase on membership costs, though very small, will raise the actual amount money coming in. Nothing about spending or the "investments." Frankly, your graph shows very little, except their operating profit margin is down. And... 2011 is soo the year of Jagex death dude.
  10. If you think that's all Pal has to say, put him on your ignore list.
  11. If it's too cold for outdoors, maybe you should try the backdo... erm, nevermind before I catch a suspension. :P
  12. I think that describes a lot of us at the moment. And if Jagex is doing something that we feel is detrimental to RuneScape, then we're going to be upset and express our frustration. That doesn't make us an "anti-Jagex" site. Kaida has criticized Jagex? De-mod him! Well, he is a mod only on Tip. Let's see how far their power reaches. Oh wait, this isn't the Runescape site so he shouldn't be de-modded for it? That didn't stop them with Jiblix. I gotta say, if you are pro-Runescape, then you are anti-Jagex at the moment.
  13. I've no problem with strong feelings about things. However, this just keeps going into an anti-Jagex rant all the time by the same player on different threads. Its getting more absurd. This is supposed to be a "fan" site. Discontent is one thing but for me this is crossing the line and going over the top. Fan of Runescape, but not of Jagex maybe?

  15. When you take away things f2p has had since the beginning, it's feasible they could do anything to f2p. That is a *very* slippery slope.
  16. I wasn't seriously asking for it. I was being sarcastic about how instead of discussing opinions, one side prompts the other to do all this to support an opinion. You know we're lazy. You know we won't do it. I accept the notion that Jagex's playerbase is shrinking. You don't. Cool, can we get past this and talk about the issue? Here is my opinion: Jagex doesn't have nearly as many new people signing up as they used to. With the number falling lately, it is an especially bad time to go screwing with your loyal playerbase. Mmmmkay? Their stance on taking f2p off hiscores is defendable, but they aren't. They're trying misdirection to try and make it about bots. Either that, or they seriously don't get what this is about.
  17. Unless of course using the software did stuff which does break laws such as break copyright (DMCA). The users aren't innocent here and if they have a problem with the action taken by Jagex they could always class action against the bot makers for false advertising "undetectable" etc. Still though, I don't thinl suing their players is a good idea. It still comes across as petty and pedantic. Except they aren't suing players, they're suing botters and only those that don't stop after Jagex sent out the warning. They're still suing players. Now if they only meant people using bots for goldfarming, I get that, kinda. And I get if they use it and violate the new trademarks that Jagex has.
  18. We know you're a girl. Few guys would be in a basket full of teddy bears.

  20. I don't think suing players is a good idea. It comes across as petty. Sue the goldfarmers and bot makers sure, but don't sue your players. Problem is, you're breaking their ToS, not any laws. Just a bad idea really.
  21. As someone who regularly reads and posts on the forums, all the articles written I've read over the past month or so piece by piece. That being said, I still found the articles a little bland and uninteresting. The fictional article was very good though.
  22. Hey, nothing wrong with speaking your mind about something you feel strongly about. He might not play, but it might have a spot in his heart and it bugs him to see it screwed with. Compared to other people on here, he really isn't too bad about ranting and stuff. Maybe we should get Me_Hate_Libs back up in here?
  23. I don't know what "widely expected" means in the way you use it, but it is widely accepted around here. I didn't just pull this out of my butt. New players are down, membership is down, and the customer's faith in Jagex is clearly down. Now if expect me to go hunting for all the numbers on this, no. I don't care enough to do the work to prove a point that will just be ignored. People like you Bari count on other's laziness so that they don't have to debate the point. In any case, I could say how about you find the proof and numbers, but honestly, I don't care. I'm not trying to prove this to anyone. And I never said the game is in the tubes or that the quality of updates is poor, etc. No, this isn't the miniclip era, but during that with all the huge amounts of traffic the new membership they would have more wiggle room to screw around.
  24. Let me rephrase for them. The. Hypocritical. Behavior. Of. Saying. One. Thing. And. Doing. Another. Never. Ends.
