  1. This is the problem with America. American's see the election results in only black and white: there's a winner, and a loser. If you're on the winning side, you get to point your finger and say "haha told you so, u butthurt??!?" to the losers. It stuns me how we shame the "losers" and ridicule them for voting for the "wrong guy." There's no wrong guy for gods sake. Just because you voted for Romney, doesn't mean you should instill in your mind that you somehow made the wrong decision. Romney's not dumb. Neither is Obama. Both are very well educated. They simply have different methods of solving the same problems. Obummer? Nit-Wit Mitt? Nobama? Flip-flop mitt? Are you serious? Why do we have to ridicule the once sacred position of the presidency? There's no more more respect anymore, its all one big circus to choose which clown is funnier.
  2. Summer's here! As always this time of year, we'll be giving out free spins for the first 1000 members to hold 2 active subscriptions and spin 200 times (on both accounts). Each 15 spins, you will also get an additional 2 spins, but only this weekend! To get you further in the summer spirit, we've added 10 new quests (each costing 10 spins). Be warned though - these new quests are grueling and dangerous- a few particularly nasty quests involve some of Runescape's hardest puzzles yet - including a perlous chess game, where YOU are the pieces! (note: players start with a single pawn and must purchase additional chess pieces - the prices of these items can be found <link>here</link>). With the completion of 7 of 12 of these sizzling quests, you'll recieve a new, sizzling cape in addition to a wide range of snazzy, sizzling emotes. These hot, summer-y emotes include, but are limited to: - Sundance (a projector appears before your character, playing a grainy black-and-white documentary, BUT QUICKLY TRANSFORMS INTO A DRAGON) - Grillin' (a charcoal grill appears before your character, your character filps a patty, BUT THE PATTY TRANSFORMS INTO A DRAGON) - Can't beat the heat! (A DRAGON COMES OUT OF THE GROUND) Finally, we'll see 10 new items added to Yelp's collection! We've increased the number of spins members recieve on a daily basis by 12.5%, but only if you spin this weekend and this weekend only! In addition, we've mega-powered up our prices to sizzling wide range of spins - but only if you spin exactly 3 times a day. Next week, get ready to synergize your spins with all new dragons that ultra-power your spins and add additional action bars, but only if you buy 100 more dragons. Have fun!
  3. For those trying to justify spending RL money on these things, shame on you. These being cosmetic items make no difference- you're still sending Jagex (specifically IVP) the message that micro-transactions is the way to go. You are the reason this game has become the way it is. Runescape, despite its flaws, stood out among a bland, flavorless stew of generic, class-based, wow-copies. Now there is no commercial MMO which hasn't been exposed to the sickening virus of pay-to-win. "I buy spins/runecoins cause everyone else is doing it" is no excuse. You should have spoken up, you should have rioted, you should have flooded Jagex Towers with buckets of angry emails. I was there in those riots, and I saw the blind rage. But it died out, as it shouldn't have. Slowly and surely you began to accept the Blizzard way of life. Shame on you. Yes, you. I beg of you, if you ever end of making a smash-hit MMO, do not let it be tainted by money-hungry investors. Ask yourself, is it better to be loved by few, or hated by many? Jagex chose the latter.
  4. Putting the flamboyant arguments aside, here's why this really wouldn't work: Jagex sells GP at 1M gp per 3 USD. Gold farmers respond by selling GP at 1M per 2.5 USD. Seeing that players are no longer purchasing their gold, Jagex lowers the price to 1M gp per 2 USD. Gold farmers respond again by lowering their price to 1M per 1.5 USD. Jagex, again aware that their GP sales have stopped, sells 1M gp at the cheap price of 1 USD. Gold farmers again respond with another price slash: 50 cents per 1M gp. Jagex goes to 40 cents. Them, 30 cents. Jagex, 25 cents. Them, 20 cents. Jagex, 19 cents. Them, 18 cents. Jagex is a first world company. They have first world wages. Gold farmers are based in third world countries. They have third world wages. Inevitably, the gold farmers will always find a cheaper price because they are able to pay their employees so little. This causes a vicious price war among these two institutions, until the price for GP becomes so low that not even the most stubborn veteran can't resist purchasing GP, it being sold at such a low price (regardless of the source of the GP). With so many players purchasing GP, inflation would come into play. The value of the GP would drop dramatically, putting more pressure on both Jagex and outside Gold farmers to lower their price for GP even more. A vicious cycle would ensue, where the more GP the player base purchases, the lower the price of GP becomes, the more GP the player base purchases, the lower the price of GP becomes, etc.
