  1. I made an update that shows the graph plotted agaisnt the "final" results. http://www.misplaceditems.com/2007scape.php?relative=true If the voting doesn't end on March 1, let me know so I can adjust it.
  2. I don't know what you mean by a better solution. You're going to be stuck using remote desktop(or equivilant) to do this and it will always be slow and laggy. If you're talking about cost, then look into Amazon web services. http://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/whats-new/2012/01/15/AWS-Free-Tier-Now-Includes-Windows/ You'll be able to set up an on demand windows box that you can remote into. The first year is free(if you use the slow box), but you can upgrade to a better box(instantly with no charge) for 11-23 cents an hour.
  3. Well what I was thinking, these gold farmers must have a maximum amount of bots at once right? For simplicity, lets say one gold farming company can only support 100 bots max. When 07scape comes out, they'll still only be able to support 100 bots, so what do they do? They can keep all their bots in RS and be able to get lots of resource with lots of willing buyers (I'd assume) or they can send some to 07scape, where there currently will be no economy and there will be less players. I would assume they would treat it like a new business venture and sink some money into new hardware to support new bots for 07scape. If it doesn't work out, they can use that hardware for whatever they are already using. If it does, the hardware pays for itself.
  4. Voting is losing steam. http://www.misplaced...t2.php?vpm=true
  5. Doesn't work, but I see your problem, you missed the "www." in the URL. I'll fix it for you. EDIT: Keep up the good work! I don't understand why that's an issue, but if it fixed it for you, that's good. I've also added a text log of the data grabs. http://www.misplaceditems.com/2007scape.php?table=true
  6. It appears to be an IE issue. I'll work on getting that fixed. EDIT: Fixed for IE. Iphones don't seem to work for some reason... If there other issues, let me know.
  7. If anyone is interested, here is a chart that plots the number of votes. http://www.misplaceditems.com/2007scape.php It's currently grabbing every 5 mins or so and it starts logging right around 60k votes.
  8. Did you read Brave New World or Brave New WorldS? The second is the anthology I mentioned. It's really good and contains short stories such as "The Lottery".
  9. I'm a huge fan of dystopian stories. I would suggest that you read We by Zamyatin. It was written well before 1984 and Brave new world, and some people think those books took elements from it. Also, pretty much anything by Margaret Atwood is good. I really liked The handmaids tale. The Long Walk and The Running Man by Stephen King are pretty good. A quick, easy read is Feed by M.T. Anderson. And a really good anthology is "Brave New Worlds". As for the Giver, I have a question for the people who have read it. Spoilers of the end of the book. [spoiler=End of the story spoiler]I read the story 18 or so years ago, before the sequels came out. When I finished the book, I thought Jonas died. Supposedly, Lowry was surprised that anyone even thought that, but the ending seems so ambiguous. Even now, I read the end as him dieing. What do the rest of you think? And did you read it knowing that he lives because of the sequels?
  10. Piu, have you looked at this? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dsc.phscope
  11. Ok, it's not like steam. In that case, only if you've added that computer after you got keylogged.
  12. In theory, yes. If a keylogger is dropped onto your computer and it grabs your email and rs passwords, then yes. Edit: I may be incorrect. I'm not certain how JAG works. I thought it sent an email to you to confirm you had control of the computer. If this isn't the case, then no.
  13. I would normally agree with you, but since this is already kitted, the script kiddies are going to have a field day with it.
  14. Hey folks, There is currently a freshly released java exploit that allows people to remotely execute code on your system. More information can be found at http://www.zdnet.com/homeland-security-warns-to-disable-java-amid-zero-day-flaw-7000009713/ The code has already been included into exploit databases and exploit tools. So, be careful. It's suggested to disable java completely.
  15. This post was lacking a little bit of information so I did some research. Cost of muddy key: 1.1k Mith bar: 1.3k uncut Ruby: 2.8k 2 law: 266 2 death: 186 10 chaos: 40 Return ~4.6k Inventory cost: 26.4k Return total: 110.4k Profit: 84k I don't know how quickly the chest respawns or how long it takes to make a round trip, so you'll have to figure that out yourself.
  16. Hey Peter or Xena (or some new coder that I don't know about), A forum post brought this to my attention. It looks like you've began using tablesorter to sort results in tables. While this is a great tool, it isn't suited for every situation. Good: Tables that have all their data displayed on one page. Bad: Tables that are paginated. I noticed you're using tablesorter on database results. If you sort those results, you only sort the displayed page. Example: http://www.tip.it/runescape/items?keywords=black&players=all&tag=all&tag2=all First item is "Axe head - Black". Last item on the page is "Black gold-trimmed armour set (lg)" Last item in the results is "Worn-out black gauntlets". On the first page, I would expect that if I sorted the name column in reverse order, the first item would be "Worn-out black gauntlets". However, it's "Black gold-trimmed armour set (lg)". If you wouldn't mind a suggestion to the solution, I'd use DataTables. I've used it in a few places at work and it works just fine. It'll require a little tweaking to get the ajax stuff working securely, but it isn't hard to do.
  17. It's actually really simple. The sorting is done by a jquery plugin called tablesorter. Unfortunately, that's basically useless for large sets because it sorts only the information on the page currently. Edit: If you want full sorting(that works correctly) that is searchable and filterable, check out the jquery plugin DataTables
  18. Well, the pride in having a pure f2p account is that the character hasn't gained any experience or items using members methods. So, being forced to log into members and then switching out would still count since you've done neither.
  19. Tripsis, have you read the WWW trilogy? Based off of the description of the book you're reading, you'd like it. I don't know if you've read the Ender's series(at least the goodreads account that I think is yours doesn't have it listed), but it's the same general idea. An artificial intelligence has formed within the nodes of the internet and learns about humanity from a a young girl who recently had surgery to give her eyesight. WWW: Wake WWW: Watch WWW: Wonder
  20. Well, the hovertext of that pop up says "Click to Continue > by Deals Plugin". I'd assume you installed a plugin that gives you ads. Go to tools->extensions and see if there is anything there matching "Deals Plugin" or that you don't recognize.
  21. Same issue on my Iphone. Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 6_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/534.46.0 (KHTML, like Gecko) CriOS/21.0.1180.82 Mobile/10A405 Safari/7534.48.3
  22. Oh never mind... I must not have been awake when I made the post. I know tipit uses British spelling as a standard. For some reason, I was thinking that the word "defensive" should have been spelled with a C. Obviously, defencive is not a word, so this can be ignored.
  23. I was glancing through the ability book page and noticed that the defense section switches between US and British English.
  24. I'm listing only things that could actually be done in a lifetime. Pick up every item that respawns in the game at least once. Equip and deal 1000 hp of damage with every weapon. Equip and absorb 1000 hp of damage with every piece of armor. (damage absorbed is divided by the number of pieces of armor you have on). Get a needle from every haystack. Drink a beer from every beer barrel. Retrieve 1 resource item from every fixed resource point(mining rocks, chopping trees). Consume 1 of every consumable. Yes. This includes easter eggs and pumpkins.
  25. I haven't seen her on skype in a while, but I'm not on often. She has a forum update from the 31st, so that's not too long ago.
