While wandering about on the forums I saw a horrible sight: seems to have replaced the much nicer: :!: Now my imitation one is redundant.... ....I'll have to get to work deisigning a new one....

I don't have a problem with you but if you have a design to enter do it freely..... Don't just ask him to go to you and not let others try.... :?

Gives me the idea of a supercharacter from Marvel comics with a hand drawn head actually.... or maybe im just too suspicious and cynical and hes better at body design than heads....

The Gimp has a built in animation tool but its only got basic animations, anything complex you'll have to do manually.....

riiiiiiight, so ALL photp manipulation is ripping now then is it? :roll: Well yes legally it is. (and tech heads should know that....) It comes down to a question of copyright. If the image creator did not specifically say that the images could be used for any purpose without having to add a reference to him/her then you have to assume that they are not available for editing/ripping. Sometimes the image creators will allow the manipulation of their images as long as its not used for commercial purposes/profit or as long as a mention is given to them.... So if you want to fiddle about with an image not belonging to then you have to ask permission if its not already given. Otherwise they can do horrible legal stuff to you..... Look up copyright rules on google and you'll see what I mean.... Anyway enough copyright rant.... Sig looks nice but the pinkish glow in the top right makes it a bit funny.... (looks like a WC3 orc to me :wink: )

The effect is interesting..... It looks like a text design with a reversed swirl? 7/10 for the idea and design

A freehand demon drawing I made in MS Paint, starting from a odd mask design I'd made a while back..... Including the outlining...... which took hours...... *best viewed on a computer with quite a high resolution...... or you're going to do a lot of scrolling..... I'm terrible at shading so I decided it would be better without..... C/C and ratings welcome :) *edited to reduce size and fix that blue mess in corners with the glow....

:P Its not easy enough for people wanting a quick few gps You're supposed to ask for an abstract bg with an interesting font and a 3 pixel border, maybe some simple blending animation too.... Actually DRAWING things takes effort and that costs lots of money :wink:

Can you do shading?

It would be nice if you logged onto that character and took a screenshot so the resolve of hesitant designers could be strengthened and the cynicism of others could be quelled..... Just a hint :)

Not enough contrast between the text and the background? And message board should be rewritten in a more readable font .....and why does it have the elitists in there twice?

.. :roll: Cartoons have block shading newb. :roll: I wasn't referring to the simpsons or other tv cartoon newb. look at drawn cartoons. Never said they did :roll: . No, you said look at what it looks like irl.... and this isnt real :roll: I appreciate pixel art that takes time + is done correctly in my opinion, I see nothing here that is interesting, and omg "Swag" is so original, what kind of theif carrys a bag like that with loads of stuff in :roll: . Id like to see something you've drawn.... And as for the THIEF (learn to spell) how interesting would it look to put in an ordinary character..... because I don't see anyone dressing up when they go thieving.... (apart from in armour)

Linework looks fine on the central characters Look at what it looks like in cartoons..... :roll: Since when were cartoons meant to follow the guidelines of reality? Its the same 3 pixel border loads of people have and I don't see a problem with the colour clashing with the design.... Nothing wrong with the rest of his design either... learn to appreciate pixel art ..... :roll:

Could be.... But I thought the point in question was "do you need a picture hosted for over 1 year"? I'm sure I've changed mine three times in the last few months..... I prefer to have a permanent avatar for identification which never needs rehosting anyway and swap and change signature pictures as and when I feel a new one would be interesting...... Anyway simpload is there if anyone wants an easy to use image host :)
