1) I said, don't post about this being feasible, because we all know it's not, and you don't sound any smarter by pointing out the blatantly obvious 2) How exactly would the ladder ruin accomplishments? It would be a separate set of servers and characters, you don't lose your original account. Well you asked for this to be considered hypothetically, it seems obvious that doing so includes assuming it is feasible? Because it would dilute the player pool. By creating a new game, you take away the advantage players who worked hard have over those who didn't.

It wouls be a very foolish buisness move on Jagex's part. One of the things that draws people to rs is the sense of permanence. In a game where you have to work so hard to achieve anything, the security of knowing that all your accomplishements will be set in stone means a lot. What would happen when the second draft of rs got old? Would you propose another and another? It would be very, very unfair to throw out the millions of hours of time and effort put into rs by its many players.

I believe he did post dy/dx? Duke, I have been an active staker since early rs2 and over the years I have found myself with about 5billion in assets to work with. Recently I paired myself with a few friends to work the market occasionally, together we have about 12billion in rares. Something that was very interesting to me was the growth of various rares with respects to each other. It would be like early christmas for me if you could send me graphs of individual rare derivatives side by side or your data for me to make such graphs. Is the growth trend of all rares consistant or do certain rares (I.E. phats) lead the growth or trail after it? Oh and I made an observation recently and was wondering if you could give me some quick feedback on it. I noticed that as rs grows, many of the old time stakers and merchants who once had such central control over runescapes rares are going down. (You, cursed, iodio, d4rk, h3ll, r2 and more) It seems that there is a gradual trend for the rares in runescape to become more and more dispersed. The result of this is that there are many, many less players with the assets to purchase individual partyhats. My theory is that this will put a cap somewhere around 500mil on blue phats where as smaller rares will continue to rise until it is no longer possible for everyone and their mother to easily acquire one. It seems the demand dies off heavily for anything worth more than a few hundred m. Do you think growth will continue at a universal rate, or do you think that less expensive rares will make gains on the rarest of the rare? Ah and finally, if hunting turns out to be similar to slayer in that it gives the first few people to reach a certain level cape an astounding amount of money with which to acquire rares, do you think it will become another slayer with respects to the price rocketing?

I agreed with this entirely. I worked four years of staking to mass 5billion in rares and it feels good. I don't think it would be as rewarding if I hadn't worked to achieve it. Putting public chat to friends cancels out wearing a blue phat. :mrgreen:

Woot I'm going to world 99 to pk tipiters. :D I'll tell all my mates lol. Just kidding sort of, you are missing an important point though. A lot of people rc pk because they are bored not because they want loot. Getting defenders will just attract them.

People claim first hit is skill, but in actuallity there is very little skill to it. I have made over 5bil staking, trust me I know what I'm talking about. The lowest latency gets first hit as long as both players attack within around 3/4 of a second before the duel.

Recently I staked one player many times getting the first hit every time and sadly, I lost about 2billion gold in items. Starting today, (8/23/06) I will swallow my pride and lock it away in a box. I will push down that voice telling me "Staaake the phat, that guy is a newbz0r!!" and I will drop down to small predictibal stakes for a steady profit. I hope you enjoy reading, and I really hope this works. Day One 9:25 am-I went staking and won a few small 1-2m stakes. It feels weird to be staking so small after staking 200m at a time for about a month. After fice minutes of staking world 22 was sadly put offline for some sort of maintanence or update. Yah, I think I'm not going to figure this one out. I'm going to stop staking phats for a while and go back to cleaning the semi poor mains of runescape in 5m stakes. Every day for the next week I am going to win 150m, I should be ok after that.

He made a good point that most people who replied missed. It is all luck, but you can tilt the luck in your favor. Over a large sampling of fights, like my case you should win more than you lose if you have a significant advantage like first hit, But for some reason I lost about two thirds of the fights, that is about a 20 percent shift from the 60-40 that the first hit fighter ussually enjoys. This is certantly not a coincidence because of the huge sampling I talked to many other people, and raven while never getting first hits gets about the same thing against everyone. Something is up and I want to figure it out.

Heyall, Recently I had a cool idea about dueling. If you got the first hit in fights with maxed combat mains which ussually last about 10 hits total, your tiebreaking hit advantage would allow you to win more duels than you lost against a given opponent. If you did this and just kept staking, you would eventually clean them. This worked fine for me on my main, I gathered about 5billion in resources against other maxed players and was very happy. Then I staked a certain player about 100 times going back and forth with the stake being around 200m a duel. After the dust setteled I was out 30 santas 6 phats and 600m cash. I got the first hit in 95 percent of the duels. About half were specials on, half specials off. Why did I lose? Is there a new prayer glitch? What happened? Any ideas?

For some players (Myself Included, I have 160 santas :D ) money is not an object. They saw no one around and were probably killing you out of sheer boredom. I don't kill skillers but I so do love to kill those pesky one itemers who are "just watching" until the moment you are about to get a kill and have 40 hp left....

Yes, this has bothered me a lot. We cannot do lumbridge guide because of 2k defense from nature spirt. We cannot do sir amik because hero's and d slayer give def. We cannot do awoegwi because we cannot return to ape atoll without talking to daero. Unless jagex fixes this we can only have mith gloves. Now impures can get 13 str that we cannot. 6 for dark gloves 3 for berserker helms 5 for obby shields

1) contrary to what (i think) most of us assumed, jagex can't look up lists of things like quest points. i thought that'd be something they would've added with rs2, but i guess not I think that the can look this up. The poll is quite possibly a test to see how honestly people answer polls.

I think this may be a jagex attempt to put more people in the wilderness. To the people who claim that if it is multi combat wilderness, no one would go there because of pkers teams... What about the pker teams? They would have tons of fun fighting each other.

theres an easy solution to the problem of being able to own anyhting. Jagex should make incredibly rare and powerful weapons : ) ... I,e in the hundreds of mills.

Hey thats cool that the rocks are working out. I'm an avid pker on my pure and spend almost all my rs time killing, Rune miners just are not a very good mark. They know too log or run through the spiders and they often have little ores on them ore drop their ores while running just to spite the pker. \ My advice to all you pkers, stick to the amge bank, level one and the castle.

kq is not that largest monster. The level 702 boss of the fight caves is... Your weapon selection advice is not very useful other than the part about verac. Bring your best armor and weapons, bow if you like... duh. Other than that nice guide.
