I disagree, simply walking across the bridge to the fairy ring has put me in the wilderness before. You must realize that before the ditch it went from safe to incredibly dangerous without even changing scenery. move one tile to far, bam. Dead. That was unfair in a spot assumed to be safe. I am in no way a noob and I use barrows armor not mith, I'm not giving my expensive gear to some jerk because I moved one tile to far north. No offense, but this is why RS is played by 13 year olds mainly (not saying you are). OH NO, HANG ON KIDS THERES A DANGEROUS WILDERNESS. I basicly laugh with it, in classic a lot of fighting was in wild level 1, if you walked in accidentely you had 100 times more chance of dieing then in RS2. How the hell can you die so quick in lvl 1 wild in RS2? Ok, even when you get frozen you can still escape. Mentality of JAGeX (quantity > quality) which is perfectly acceptable for a company, but they had better spend some more time on how to make the game really hard. Is there anything in RS that you can reach with really being good in something? With thinking smart? No. All 99's can be reached with mindless clicking and maybe duelling is one of the few things that is really hard because it involves other players to reach something. You're an idiot. Why? Because you didn't read the rant properly, because the author meant RuneScape should be limited for everybody as it happen with some games in Japan. I don't see his poor examples also. I think it's also 16-18 teenagers who see RS as entertainment and a good way to get some extra pocket money. And how do you have no life when you auto? (I don't do it, but just guessing) Autoing means you don't need to sit behind you screen, so you have more time to do other stuff then when you actually play RS. 1. IQ in the negatives is impossible. 2. The fact that JAGeX needs to do so many updates concerning scamming means that there is need for it. So don't accuse people you don't know it's their fault.

Sorry to sound harsh, but get over it you're in wilderness. I really was annoyed by RC-pkers myself, but after all my frustrations about it I accepted it. It's simple, don't wanna take the risk? Don't go in wild then. And don't cry over what can and what can't, RS isn't fair.

I've seen this feature on another board, it wasn't a phpBB board but I guess it wouldn't be hard to implent it. Instead of discussing wheter old threads should be locked, it's better to make a sort of warning message for when users want to reply on a thread which hadn't had a post within the month. A small red text would show up above the message box saying "This thread is over a month old. It's forbidden to bump it for no reason, but if you have something to add that could be beneficial for the thread you can post still". Simple as that.

Yep. I don't know 5 people who were addicted to RS and could quit in 1 day. I also laugh with people who say suddenly " I got PK-ed for full guthans & whip, I quit! " because they ALWAYS come back within the week/month.

Excellent topic N64Jive. First of all, I want to say this. I played RuneScape from feb 2002 - feb 2007. I retired because of school. Not because it went bad, I had the great habit to always do just enough to get trough, but I realised it had no use playing RuneScape. My situation was simple, until 2004 I played RS-classic and I really enjoyed it. In classic there was a lot of flaming, competition autoers etc but it was fun. If I came from school and wanted to have really fun for an hour, I PK-ed and really enjoyed it. When classic F2P got shut down, I started playing RS2. Why? I don't know. Maybe because RS is quite cheap, a regular PS2 game costs about 60ÃÆââââ¬Ã¡Ãâì, and RS is about 5 euro's a month? So for teenagers that's cheap eh. Also, RS is with other players, it's hard to get bored. But in summer '05 I retired from the game, had fun did a lot of stuff, but school started again and I suddenly started playing again. Clans were the reason. In my opinion RS is so addictive because it's a MMPORG, but also because of the clans. I really enjoyed being in TF/THE, and if I look back on it now I'm glad I was so dissapointed in the staff I forced myself to leave. After that, RS was no fun anymore so I retired. This situation just to show how hard it is to retire from RS. I had to experience a dissapointment in THE before I left, otherwise I'd still be there having "fun". Yes, RS is time consuming but I know how many people think. What should I do if I won't play RS? Probably not much is the reaction then. RS is dangerous because it gives you an alternative for the "cruel outside world". Example; if you are quite nerd-ish you could be respected in RS because of your high skills. The danger of RS is that you feel better inside of the game then in the outside world. It's easy to keep playing, but really that shouldn't happen! It's a topic where we could discuss about for ages, but it's the players themselves who have do decide if their current "RS-situation" is healthy. I'd like to add a little thing too. The best proof that some people take RS waaaay too serious is the whole PK-ing [cabbage]. If you're in DI you cannot pray on that and that place, in that and that situation etc. what a [cabbage] if you ask me. Ok, that you're mad because you're RC pked, or clue-PK"d etc is human, but it's the [bleep]ing wilderness after all. What you expect? A PK-er who says: " OH you're clue hunter, go right trough with your possible robin hood hat loot ". All those whiners about honour and no honour. Ok, war-crashing is sad, but what's bad about luring? If you know enough about wild you don't get yourself lured eh. Same with RC-pking, clue pking etc etc etc. I absolutely don't wanna start a discussion about no honour and honour, but the fun in this game is gone if you ask me. Killing in wilderness is bounded to silly unwritten rules, skilling shouldn't happen in a certain way (wow that guy doesn't deserve 99 herblore because he bought it! - who gives a [bleep]? He reached it period.) etc.

September/oktober 2005. TF (biggest junior clan) met DI in wild. We had a long fight, and it was one of the best moments in my clan time.

Thanks for letting me look like nothing more then a flamer. Hide behind your rank mrs, and keep telling lies. We have given lists, we have given suggestions but they got all ignored. You make it look like I left and I was unloyal to the CIC, guess what, I left because nobody had posted anything in 10 days there. I doubt it is better now, since CD is still as it was when CIC started. Deserted.

I'm replying on this topic because I didn't notice Albosky's reply, and when browsing this topic I saw it. So yes, I know the reply is more then a month old Do you mean how long it would take to make a list of things that should be done? Because with all of respect but we have done that months and months ago. I don't know where the tallest1 is atm, but you should ask him. I'm sorry, but that's crap. I repeat it again, all summer we have been placing ideas on that board. All summer we thought there would be done something with it but nothing happened. Some "brushing up" of the clan discussion has happened, but nothing we suggested about fundamental changes were implented. Weird when half the staff agrees on something, but it doesn't get implented. I keep repeating it, everything goes to slow around here. If you got too much work as admins, hire new ones. If you don't got enough mods, pick out new ones. A good example of "time consuming" and really pointless work are the mod trainee stuff. How long is it going now already? About 2 months since the apps started? Sheesh, the time & effort you put in reading all those -slimy- applications you could have easily look out yourself for suitable mods. Even the clan discussion coud have been revived in that time. I'm just saying, be smart. If the staff doesn't want an active clan discussion, fine by me but don't say you do. A fansite forum can easily have traffic without many people from clans, but don't pretend to want it then eh. Because me -and many others- have put a lot of effort in thinking out ideas, and I am really dissapointed nothing happened with those ideas yet. I don't know what's going on in the CIC atm, but I do know 1 thing. Nothing happens.

No idea what that drop/creature is but it looks nice. Gratz zot. :)
