Americans had better insurance than most, and they generally have a boatload of cash anyway...so you got money even though you didn't take part in the mission. Word morphs are kinda removed. I am trying to work on a script for a longer than 4 letter multi-morph...however it is taking time, so I merged it with 'What comes next' http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12603519/Space/Puzzles/Jen.png Have a look at a proper one (You can replace Jen with your characters name)

Tech, they cost money, decided on how you died(Atom bomb falls on you, probably half the original price. You get sniped through the head...probably 5K.)
-
No and Yes. The suit will be damaged and require repairs if you die. If you die with it badly damaged(like 4 deaths without repairing it) then it will be destroyed and you will need to by a new one. Shields will regenerate outside of combat...though obviously it takes time.
-
That was my general plan...and by general plan I mean it is what I have already done.
-
Jen, you don't need to list the things you have the ability to make...Sending me a PM about what goes into your suit...that would be handy.

Oh its all the rage here in Britian...and in Finland, if I remember correctly. Americans are odd about drinking, didn't know Norwegians were odd about it as well. Of course, as a non-alcholic the drinking age has no effect on me at all...

America just seems to have more 'normal' people who do insane things, rather than a specialised class... British Bankers, French Chefs, German Leaders.

The Mod can do anything, ignoring the real world as and when required. But yeah, The Medical Board are powerful, since the world is pretty much running on anti-age cream, cures for the bazzillion super-viruses that our immune system can't handle and the ever present threat of Japanese Anthrageddon. So the Medical Board claims something, the UN go 'Damn, what do they want now' and then vote to have all pizzas to wear wigs...or whatever the nutters want now. Not paying the fine will probably have consequences.

On the subject of Halloween...I am glad I am British: You just think....Perhaps Adult Americans have a little TOO MUCH free time which they could perhaps spend in a better way...Reading, for example.

The UN is controlled by the Mod of the Hegemony game...So Sere's Hegemony type UN.

Ok then, I have redesigned the Puzzle system to prevent certain people from taking all the easy puzzles and advancing a dozen levels in a single session. The new system is simple, you have a puzzle card(6 puzzles) and you solve the puzzles. If you complete all of yours, well done, no more puzzles for you today and I will generate a new card for the next session. If not then you keep your card for the next session. If you really hate the remaining puzzles I will generate a new card for you, for the next session. Template: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12603519/Space/Puzzles/Blank.png Elsewise: Britain and America have embarked on a Joint Space Armada, know as the Sol Fleet. The news comes after the destruction of the HMSS Sere, the largest ship ever built. The loss has spurred Britian to begin a massive building program with assistance from nominal rival America. The first three destroyers, Ulyssess, Lloyd George and Caspian are to be completed within the next three months. Russia has lead an invasion into Chinese Manchuria. The Russian advance is gaining ground and it is suspected that the Chinese will need to make yet more concessions to calm the Russians. Argentinia has suffered from a massive health crisis as Bio-bombs have detonated in five major cities. The Terran Federation has claimed responsibility. The Chinese Scout ship, Mao, has arrived at Ganymede and is conducted a study of the Japanese base ruins. The Fox hit show, 'Astronuts' has been put on Hiatus after it was alledged that Fox attempted to hire mercenaries to attack the ISS Unity to make things interesting. Jen Sonla has been sued for 80,000 Credits by the United Nations Medical Board after it emerged that she attempted to sell them a wonder cure for an non-existant disease. The United Nations have given Jen one month to pay the fine. The Terran Federation Space Wing has been closed after its funding was reallocated. Senior figures within the Space Wing have denounced the action but were subsquently arrested. They have not been heard from since. The Planitia Base, in the Asteroid Belt, has announced the discovery of a device capable of transmitting messages faster than light. The Terran Base on Mars has had quarentine lifted, however a number of ships have been 'Lost' by the Terran Authorities and reperations by the associated countries have run into the millions of credits. The Terran Federation has agreed to pay these reperations after joint action was threatened. Argentina has launched an attack on American Carribean. America has dispatched marines to retake the islands. The Greater Japanese Empire has pledged to assist Argentina in its war against America. Anomolous readings from Neptune have aroused some interest in scientific circles, the readings are still being analysed.

Thanks Ross. Sorry about randomly logging out, the connection died. Anywho, I have tommrow off, so lay in then a write up of consquences from the past 2 sessions.

Ok: /Join #Space2 tavern Someone is sitting in Space... <_<

Instant. It would cost 150,000K for a level 1 Quantum Reactor...and until hit level 10 the Quantum Reactor takes up 1 Bay and adds 1 bay...so the effectiveness would be to add a Quantum Reactor...Thats about it. Anywho, booting up Space with Notetaker.

Adoring=Creepy.

Personally...I would just use a Technobabble Token if the puzzle was THAT hard...and I desperately wanted that data.

Puzzles must be reasonably solvable... As in if someone sat down and tried to solve it, they could understand the question and have a reasonable chance of solving it with knowladge of basic Maths, Science or English....without knowladge of abstract principles which are on the cutting edge of science...such as n!, page and line numbers of quotes from books or the Schwarzschild radius. As an example of what is not acceptable: Where A6=3.9409, B7=272, C9=2057,D35= 7914, A18=-K32, B44=-J6, I21=-C29 and F25=-F25 What is the sum of the values of letters and numbers in the two formulas which generate this table? Assume: A is worth 1 and Z is worth 26, and the letters increase in value along the alphabet by whole integers. Bodmas(Brackets, Orders, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction) have the values of ther associated words Irrational numbers are rounded to the nearest whole number.

The Edge suit would require 250,000 credits in raw resources, about 90 hours of time (Which would mostly be done between sessions, I am guessing) and would generate 1,300 merits(since it has been properly designed, highly expensive and takes a long time to build)...If it was successfully produced(which would be a die roll). If the die failed then the suit would work, but would jam/crash at opportune moments. 400,000 credits to buy it and have it assembled by experts.

The anagram answer has nothing to do with food, and is a fairly common phrase in a fairly large number of countries(if translated, obviously).
-
No And the money is billed to the Ship's Account unless someone with authority(Currently only Nero, I think) blocks it. In which case you are dead until someone pays for it, or the end of the session. Data can be stored in the AI and puzzle lock protected(You can make the puzzle, as long as I have the answer) from someone hacking in. Or can be stored in your Personal Quarters on a puzzle locked computer, disconnected from the AI(though obviously you would need to access AI Database data on a seperate computer)

I have been thinking about death.... I think I need to make it more...lossy...So here is the plan: If you die you lose 10,000 credits and any unique items*. Your inventory is otherwise protected. (Keeping track of saves got complicated) Also, someone must be on the bridge to recover you and say something, or you must wait 10 minutes, then ask. Also, a rationing system has been introduced to prevent the venting of all food in sandwich styled attacks. All personal are limited to a banquet per day. *Items that can't be replicated on ship...like Data Sticks, special weapons and other such stuff. Note that this includes things like Jen's Data Stick. This stuff can be picked up off the ground where people died, as long as they haven't respawned.

Yeah, we should stay off this topic... Though many giggles were had when it was first said, now it is just a bit creepy.
