Earth, Matthew Scott from Stargate Universe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_Scott_(Stargate)

Russians remind them of the Irish. Though general fear of Russia in America may be skewing polls.

Anyway.... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12603519/Space/Logs/%23Space.Tip.It.log (This should open in notepad) This will keep a log of everything said in the Space window. Unfortunately it doesn't like underscores so it looks like Space_Online is deaded  Notetaker is my handle(nickname) for this. I will also be on as AI. (So I am 2 people, but notetaker won't respond)

Nero is like Jack O'Neill from Star Gate: Commands respect, can be serious, can be comic...Knows he isn't a tech wizard or anything like that, so lets the people who know what they are doing, do what they do.
-
Theros is like Harry Kim from Voyager...except slightly more trigger happy.
-
Chi, the polls are not that specific...But you are seen like MaKay from SGA...so seeing you get beaten up and shot through the head twice was not un-well received.
-
Also regarding Nex, a fan club has sprung up which love Faust:
-
Its Sunday and sessions are Saturday, Monday and Thursday

Nex's Psyche Eval: The Byronic hero(nex) typically exhibits several of the following characteristics: A strong sense of arrogance High level of intelligence and perception Cunning and able to adapt Suffering from an unnamed (Saboutaging the AI) crime A troubled past Sophisticated and educated Self-critical and introspective Mysterious, magnetic and charismatic Struggling with integrity Power of seduction and sexual attraction Social and sexual dominance Emotional conflicts, bipolar tendencies, or moodiness A distaste for social institutions and norms Being an exile, an outcast, or an outlaw "dark" attributes not normally associated with a hero Disrespect of rank and privilege Jaded, world-weary Cynicism Self-destructive behaviour

Planning to, back in the garden, Dad thought he was gonna fall through the roof of the conservatory, so Mad dash upstairs A fight with the blinds And then the window catch So I could open the window So he could grab the ledge to grab onto. Although, it turned out he hadn't nailed something down, so it was just settling(we think, though it could be collapsing and we are wrong, but yeah...) Anywho, the puzzles are supposed to be reasonably difficult, and the Neon Lamp was reserved as the most difficult puzzle. Just about everything has a skill. Some are worthless until you get to high levels(Astrophysics) and some are always useful(Running). Anything practical (Shooting, Navigation, Running) costs between 1,000 and 1,500 for the first level and then 500 more for each level after that. Theoretical stuff (Data Reconstruction, Sensor Magnification, Astrophysics) costs 2,000-3,000 for the first level and 1,000 for each additional level. Anything special will be decided when and where. Shooting is named after whatever weapon you are most proficent with(AKA Meson Weaponary) which gives you a boost with all weapons and a bonus boost with those types of weapons. If you had level 5 Meson Weaponary and you brought level 6 Anti-Proton Weaponary, then it would switch to that. If you are training and level up then you can change speciality to whatever weapon you have access to. Doubtless the mod will allow spaceships to come out, especially since Japan lost its base and is whining and threatening Anthrax. And Admiral Dusty is probably using Nero's report to demand more ships from the TF. Russia is pretty rich just now so they will probably build some when they get the chance. Isn't that like shooting jets of of Propane around while smoking a cigerette? Even with a suit on all you need is a crack or phaser burn and you are gonna die. Anywho, as an AI update: Swiss Enginners have been transported to the AI Core, along with resources. Internal shields, two back-up Fission generators, turrets armed with Anti-Proton Beam weapons are being installed. The AI Core and AI Quarters are being Lead Lined. The Cargo bay has also been restocked. Also the AI has donated 50,000 Credits to the ship. In other news: Fox is now showing 'Astronuts' a reality TV show about the adventures aboard the ISS Unity. Polls put Faust as the most hated Character, while Admiral Dusty is most loved. Fox is donating 150,000 credits to the ship. Admiral Dusty has made an empassioned speech stating the need for more space craft. Russia has declared war on Japan and is currently attempting to invade the Northern Islands. Japan is currently not using Anthrax bombs due to their immense technical lead. Britian has commissioned a new Strategic Defence Initiative on Ceres Base. British Transport Vessel 'Sere' is making the delievery. The Argentinian President was assassinated, reports show that a new type of Sniper Rifle was used, devloped on the ISS Unity. The Argentinians have demanded reperations from the manufactures on Earth. The United Nations has declared an emargo against the city state of Instanbul. Switzerland is ignoring the embargo and is flying weapons into the area. Speculation indicates that a war with the Wastelands(The surviours in the middle east) may be on the horzion.

A tiring sessions which saw Chi shot twice through the head, The Great and Ecentric Admiral Dusty of Space Wing, Nexurado make a daring escape from the ship after his computer fiddlery was discovered and possibly the hardest puzzle ever, solved by Ico. Not mention the battle which may have ended Japan's Universal dreams before they have even begun, and perhaps will turn Russia into the fully fledged super power it should be. Or will this bold attack on Japan swing the balance of power against Russia and the Terran Federation as the countries, still vying for Hegemony, try to balance affairs by allying with Japan... Nothing is certain except this, in the next session the Ion Storm will have dissipated and communication to Earth will be restored...And the orders will begin flowing. As a favour to me, I would ask that, during peak operating periods, please use the ' /me ' instruction to highlight your actions. Conversations about what you should/shouldn't be doing should be left as they are.

Yes, with the light finally starting to go, Dad decided to call it a day...and by call it a day I mean he decided that his game of Tower Defence on Facebook was making him hungry, so sent me to get takeout. Anywho, I am just gonna get things set up and then will start the session. Sorry again for the massive delay.
-
Indeed, which is why Dad is now ordering me round the garden. <_< Huzzah for parents. I will get away as soon as I can.
-
Exactly. We are who we are. Although, that doesn't mean we are justified in being idiots all the time...just from time to time.
-
Not just that...most games have bosses you can defeat with basic weapons, so the point of more powerful weapons is kinda missed. I remember getting through Mass Effect 2(Awesome game!) without researching any of the heavy weapons because...well...I didn't need them. Although, when I played it again I got the Nuke Cannon, it made things a bit easier...bit more annoying too, sometimes you were at 99%(need 100% to fire) for ages.
-
Same...though it tends to get me to the end of the game with a stack of barely used weapons....except in Bioshock...I always seemed to run out of weapons just before the end of a level, so ended up using over-powered weapons to take down minions.
-
Well....If we move the start time to 1 PM, then that should be late enough for Europeans, should be 9 am for Dusty(So he will miss less of the session) and ok for Nex(though he will miss part of the session)
-
Aren't you usually in school for 9 am?
-
Indeed, I am going out at 8:30 AM and when I get back I will be running the session(hopefully) So around 10, I imagine.
-
Fraid not, I have to be up in a few hours and and trying to watch one last episode of Star Trek before then
-
Note to self....If Earth is ever invaded by Bodysnatches...Stay away from Ross, he will shoot you as a suspected Chrysalid.

They have more contacts in their fields...But if Gavrill's tactical demonstrations are anything to go by, they don't neccessarly have more influence... Nex, It wasn't a mission, just house keeping.
-
Retech, Yes...Some people have a lot, some people have only a small amount. Nero and Faust are considered a Heroes...though the Terran Federation have no qualms about thier deaths. The AI is considered extremely important, but new technology will come along and replace it as soon as possible. Earth is a public hero but politically unimportant. Theros, Dmitri and Gavrill are comrades in the glorious Soviet Union. Jen and Chi are Japanese Heroes...though, since Japan breeds a culture of backstabbing this makes them a target. Rocco and Jake are public heroes and are politically significant. As such: Rocco, the AI and Jake have a lot of influence. Nero, Faust and Earth have some influence. Jen, Chi, Theros, Dmitir and Gavrill have little influence.
