Ah, seems like a cool plan. What exactly would you be using this computer to do? As interesting as building a glorified adding machine is, it has been done. It would be rather interesting to build a minecraft Difference Engine though, using Gravel or Sand, rather than Redstone... Not sure how you would do it exactly, but anyway...

Mmmm, I am still not sure of the point of, basically, copying a design onto minecraft...It would be far more impressive to create something new...Or to create something that was visually impressive, rather than just 'Look at me, I can copy out of a book'...Adding a torch every 14(I guess) tiles doesn't really constitute creativity

Isn't the size of the computer somewhat limited by the render distance of the program? I.E. If you build it larger than a chunk then it ceases to work properly...Or is that why you are running it as a server, so you can (or the server bypasses those limits automatically...though would be especially wasteful) put two people either side of the computer so that both chunks stay loaded?

Let me know if you start running an IC2 server...That would be more fun. (I would run one but I'm not...)

Hmmm, I would check the salinity of your sweat over the course of a week or so...If it decreases then you are acclimatising to a change in your environment, assuming you keep sweating buckets. Ok, current state of things: Being picked up in 2 hours, takes 4-6 hours to get back home. Ergo I will either get home at 6pm or 8pm. You do know that you can get specialised rounds for shooting in submarines...I believe they are softer and have a lower muzzle velocity. Could probably argue that specially designed grooves disperse the compressed air more efficently or something. A dart gun is also a possibility. Though personally, setting in 15 years in the future and saying 'Yup, Lasers and Refractive Hull' is probably easier...if it ever ran...

Let people have their fun, its no worse than any of the other times people talk about things that only interest themselves and the other person(sometimes not even then).

Hmmmm....well, I would suggest using a bump map for the staff...either with metal rings, or wood grain. I would also use an inverted sphere with a lightsource for the orb, to give the impression it was free standing... (Looks more like a table leg for the most part =P)
