Well, my suggestion would be: 'I can't believe its not perpetual motion' Homopolar motor, powered by some sort of clear liquid that produces electricity through simple electrochemical reaction. Silver Nitrate or Lead Nitrate would probably be best (Or less toxic nitrates, though do be advised most will produce hydrogen, which is more dangerous than Silver or Lead), assuming you can get iron screws. Simply, you build your traditional homopolar motor, then you encase the (iron) screw in a tight fitting, but smooth case, then proceed to provide a circuitous path by means of a second homopolar motor. You then build a small waterway between the two, then, when activated, the two motors act as archimedies screws to life the 'water'. However, one goes the other way, as the electric flow is top to bottom, rather than bottom to top. I have no idea how you would 'decide' which side was going up and which side was going down. I am sure our resident expert on magnetics will be able to tell you how it is done, but anyway... What is a man? What has he got? In other news...Anyone got any game ideas?

It is illegal to do many things...for instance record TV on a video player...Yet it is still done by very many(or was done, way back when) people, including police officers, because the general populus didn't consider it neccessary to follow that law. However, had someone wanted to they could have taken the case to court and had the person arrested. Ergo, if you swear at a Norwegian Policeman he may let you off with a warning/ignore you...alternatively he may arrest you, take you to court and have you sentenced to a year in prison. The deciding factors are: 1) What kind of person the police officer is 2) What kind of people his superiors are 3) The Judge and Jury you get 4) The type of person you are All of which are rather depends on circumstantial factors and cannot be objectively, or pre-emptively, known. Thus it is a matter of opinion, and not fact, as to whether you will be arrested or not...Though if you wanted to make an objective statement then it would be 'If you do this then the Law states that you WILL be punished.'

Or it could just be that Regian went back to Lightgate and worked in his forge for a few weeks

Not that I don't think that we could come to a successful conclusion by arguing that 'I am right and you are wrong'...but: Canada: America: Norway: http://www.un.org/Depts/los/LEGISLATIONANDTREATIES/PDFFILES/NOR_penal_code.pdf So yeah. You can get arrested for swearing at a police officer in America, Canada or Norway. (Probably Britain too, but I am no-one denied that)

Ok then. This is the story for the current situation, for people Genning new characters: Similarly, Earth, if you want to do anything, there are a couple od Ingame weeks going spare.

Because of his hostile, cocky and condescending attitude.

Its not exactly possible to censor pictures without human intervention. Since computers rarely know what is being displayed.

Yes, you get XP even though you were not there. While sometimes players will get XP bonuses, for the most part the party levels as a group.

I shall calculate.

Ah, well...Nex had to go do Jazz. Mask died in the second round of combat. Zareph died later on. So people are either rolling up new characters, or not here. +650 xp anywho.

Its not exactly spam if you play the game in the thread to demonstrate that playing the game is likely to go wrong... Also demonstrates that a thread to suggest game ideas is somewhat silly, since any discussion on the game needs to neccessarily be done elsewhere...

I am thinking that Democracy is more or less dead in the UK... What we need is someone from the 19th Century who, you know, knew how to run a country...rather than several thousand councillers arguing for a horrible compromise.

A Sheet of Metal Between the Void and Flesh
archimage_a replied to archimage_a's topic in Falador Tavern
The raider fleet should contain 1.5 times the points as a player fleet. EACH of the player fleets should contain about 7,000 points worth of ships. Ergo each of the raider fleet should contain about 10,500 points worth of ships. It should be noted that the raider fleet do not have to carry freight and thus they actually have greater advantage that would be immediately apparent. -

Right then people...Are you interested? Are you confused? I know I haven't really been following this with the effort that I should, but now that the essays are out of the way I can devote more time to this...But I kinda need to know if the system so far is adequate? I can imagine that learning how to create ships would be time consuming (Once you know how it takes no more than 10 minutes), so if people would prefer I can create a set of generic ships, run training sessions, ect, ect. Just need to know if people want me to do that or quietly leave the thread to die. -
Hey all, for the next session I am planning somewhat of a dungeon crawl, wanted to know if people were entirely adverse to that? On the plus side we have maps, on the negative it is kinda filler (Though there will be stuff hidden around the place so it isn't just 'You see another room...it looks like the last 50') Can people please let me know as I can arrange an alternative if need be. (I just need to know one way or the other =P)

Well, the conversation I had with Nex, Wyvern, Paul, Ross, Ico AND you(Sorry Earth, but I didn't want to bother you via PM, everyone else is on IM) AND my research (psht, research...The people I collected to support my opinions), pointed towards the fact that Truman, during the Berlin Airlift, and in his general behaviour, was to set a basically unachievable goal: * Supply Berlin from the Air Without making the key decisions: * We are in Berlin even if it brings War * We will pull out of Berlin before War Thus leaving the JCS to make the Strategically Horrific move to commit the US reserve Airforce (The airforce America would use to ensure freedom of action during the opening stages of a Hot War, pre-1949 and the Soviet Atomic Bomb) to the airlift. As such Truman could claim that he knew nothing of the plan if it all went horribly wrong and America found itself crippled. On another level he put great store by the Vunderweapons, Atomic Bombs, while being completely detached from the realities of war by not attending any/many of the NSC meetings. Hitler did much the same thing on all counts...He ignored reality, he depended on Vunderweapons, he set up government bodies with overlapping jurisdictions and then left them to fight over how to implement the 'word of God' (aka, him). The ultimate point of which was to highlight that America was not following a consistant plan during the opening stages of the Cold War, beyond that of what the President thought was a good idea...when he was asked...which wasn't often. Ergo, Hitler.

If anyone ever has the good fortune to get the chance to attend a lecture by Craig Campbell I would recommend you take the chance...His general disinterest in technology is very amusing, especially given how much the University I am at wants us to use electronic everything. So his concession to the International Politics department mandate that EVERYTHING must be submitted electronically is to bypass their special website, create a new website, entitle the website 'essay', intentionally lower case like he just couldn't be bothered, leave the 'Description:' tags and fill in all the criteria as 'essay' in what was obviously a cut and paste job. So the due date (today, Huzzah) is essay, the marking criteria is essay, the further reading is essay...It is truely a sight to behold. So yeah, my view of Americans has improved  On the otherhand I think I broke Godwin's law when I compared Truman to Hitler...in a vaguely good way...Said he largely let the Government run itself.

Could be interesting...Kinda concerned that we will all go off and seperately explore the house...That or attempt to murder people  "I think I know who the murder is! It was" *Lights flicker out and then back on again* *Chief Inspector Robespierre has been murdered* Alternatively "Damn, I know who it is, but if I tell anyone, they might be in on it too...There is only one possible solution." *Some hours later* "And then the Helicopter Gunship came round for another pass, riddling the manor house with nuclear-tipped rockets..."

A winning combination. Righto.

/join #Inn Ok. Ico should be rejoining us, and with the events of last session now may be a good idea for a little bit of perspective and such. If people are just happy with the state of things then Ico can join the rest of the group and we can carry on.

This is a reminder that the session is tommorow, not today.
