The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Rocco, I think it is terribly dangerous to restore the former leader of a country as the provisional head of the same county...Wouldn't he or she just wait a while then declare independance...

Rocco, word of advice, don't say you fabricate the story...It sounds like you made it up (Essentially these things only work if you convince the players)

The UN is largely against Turkey in this matter, though it really depends on how the Security Council votes...

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Turkey continues the occupation of Uzbekistan, throwing some 200,000 troops at the garrison of only some 50,000. The overwhelming force of Turkey was undercut by supply problems, stemming from continual insurgency attacks on the roads, railways and airports. However, after a week long campaign the defenders were beaten and Turkish Troops stormed the Capital. Casualties of 90,000 Turkish troops, compared with some 30,000 Uzbeks. The Insurgancy in the rest of the country continues to grow and Turkish casualities have risen to 1,000 in the last four months.

Nigerian Ambassador to the UN: "Nigeria will not admit to knowing about the plot to assassinate the leaders to Ghana and the Gold Coast. We had nothing to gain by it, except our demise. We don't know who did this abhorant thing, but we request that the United Nations look into the matter with the upmost urgancy"

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Ghana, Japan and the Gold Coast invade Nigera. With the highly suspect deployment of over 5,000 landing craft by Japan the attack was sounded and the war begun. Nigerian troops, despite being firebombed on a few occations, took up positions in numerous cities considered to be important to Nigerian Independance. Japan, with its force of 75 Stratos Jets subsquently left all but 4,000 of the Abbysinan forces alone. These two divisions, based at Minna and Sokoto, had been dispatched to patrol the boardland for attempts from Ghana and the Gold Coast to invade via land, after Togo and Benin gave permission for their forces to advance though their lands. Abbysina has consistantly spoke out against the firebombings in the UN and gained widespread support after the real life burnings of Abbsyinan soliders were broadcast on S-Net. The situation was made considerably worse by these soliders having been recorded, earlier, in conversations, games and other activities with the Civilians. The Nigerian people are celebrating Abbysina's continued involvement in the war against the barbaric enemies. In further displays of barbery the retreating Abbysinan forces were bombed continually until they reached the city. Heart breaking pictures of Soliders begging for water and medical care were broadcast direct to the world. Both Ghana and the Gold Coast have distanced themselves from the Japanese war campaign and have chosen to back down over the conflict. One spokesman said 'We went into this war to avenge our fallen leader, we did not go into it to maim soliders.' S-Net continues to report on the surviour's conditions from the Hospital in Kano after the Soliders were dressed as civilians and transported across the country via a clearly marked medical convoy. The Japanse forces did not bomb this. Japan continued its amphibious assault in the south, but made little progress after the firebombing incidents as neither Nigerian or Abbysinan forces were willing to leave the cities. Further complicating matters was civilian insurgencies, with the Moltoving of Japanese troops and tanks. Also broadcast via S-Net but recieving much less critical feedback owing to the fact that Civilians were doing this, shouting things such as 'Have some of your own medician Barbarian!' S-Net continues to report the shooting of Civilians, though Japan continues to justify that they were armed and dangerous. The Japanese assault has made relatively little progress, with Yenagoa, Warri, Ondo, Aba and Calabar the only cities captured, along with Port Harcourt, Owern and Benin City under seige. Thus far casualties have mounted as 3,000 Abbysinans, 235 Nigerians, more than 200 of which were civilans, and 180 Japanese. Abbysina has continued to support Nigeria, despite its casualties, one Major saying 'Even if we withdraw now the Japanese will fire bomb us, so we might as well try to do what little good we can. We were only here to keep the peace, and we have partly succeeded, at least we are not looking at 3,000 Nigerians and Japanese lying dead.' Abbysina has again pleded with the United Nations to do something about this intolerable situation.

Spain has Invaded Portugal! Forces travelling from a staging area near Madrid have engaged in a massive push to reach the Portugese Capital and the City of Porto. However Portugal is no push over and has destroyed the Spanish Ship 'Yamato' with a loss of 80,000 Troops in, what has been called, 'The Greatest Military Catastrophy of the 21st Century" The Yamato had been under bombing raids constantly while it attempted to make its way to the city of Lisbon, before finally meeting the Portugese navy off the coast of Sines. Portugal has taken the prisoners and is building three prisoner of war camps near Sines to deal with them. Spain's Land offensives have not gone particually well either. The southern arm made good progress until just after it had passed Abrantes, where upon part of the railway was blown up in Abrantes, servering the supply line for the attack. Soon afterwards the Portugese forces at Tomar, as well as the forces near Abrantes retook the city and are now holding it against Spanish attacks. Although outnumbered almost 4 to 1 the Portugese defenders are not making recapture easy. Some 4,000 Spanish Soliders have died compared with 2,000 Portugese. The Northern suffered a similar problem at Coimbra, with the Portugese destroying the railway station here as well. The supply problems quickly became apparent and the attack was slowed considerably as the Spanish attempted to capture the city of Coimbra to free up the supply lines. Meanwhile Portugese forces in Braga headed south, first to Porto and then on to Aveiro and finally Coimbra where they engaged the Spanish. 16,000 Spanish troops died, along with 17,000 Portugese. Portugese forces moved to capture Verin and Valenca in the north and Badajoz and Zafra in the south. http://imgur.com/DqoWC.jpg

Abbysinia begins talks with Nigera about troop movements. Unless Japanese forces happened to be in the area, which would be highly suspect, Abbysinia, with its land boarder, should be able to deploy troops before Japan or the Ghanans(?) arrive.

Abbysinia has warned that it will deploy forces to aid the Nigerians if Japan gets involved.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Ico its basically that you only posted the defensive plan around the north of the country. With no troops stationed anywhere else. Paul, on the other hand, posted troops to some of the boarder cities, but seemingly only 1 that you actually decided to attack. I would say it was teething problems with the new system.

Cool. Just 9,000 seemed a lot. American only has 49,000 combat troops in Iraq, along with 78,000 support staff. Which happened to be in one of my lectures so just flagged itself up. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/iraq_orbat.htm Well I am going to bed, so toodle pip.

Ulan Bator was avoided by the Russians, so was left entirely unharmed. 9,000 troops seems a bit supply heavy though(Just saying)

The War in Mongolia continues to develop as Russian and Chinese Troops manoeavure about the country, seizing towns and cities with the Mongolian people largely disperate at this point as which devil is better. The Russians troops surged forward from Naryn, across the boarder and into the province of Hovd, before spliting with half travelling to Dund-Us, taking the city unopposed, and half travelling to Altay. A second thrust began in Moron, a city captured by the Russian at the beginning of the conflict, the army then advanced south, passing Uliastay, also arriving at Altay. At Altay the Russian 15,000 men and women laid siege to the city, while the 16,000 Chinese defenders held up inside the city, with neither side making any attempt to break the stalemate. On the other side of Mongolia Russian forces advanced out of Choybalsan and proceeded to captured Tamsagbulag and Baruun-Urt. Interestingly enough this may have seriously stalled the Chinese Offensive launched some days later. From the city of Ondorhaan the Chinese launched an offensive aimed at Choybalsan, which was left defenceless after the Russian forces had departed earlier. Then 30,000 Chinese troops began their long trek to Bulgan, but took the road via Baruun-Urt, and thus were tied up trying to take the city from the Russian defenders. This marked the only direct conflict between the two sides and resulted in the withdrawl of the Chinese troops to Choybalsen after sustaining some 3,000 casualities, as opposed to 500 Russian casualities. However this force was only meant to be the reinforcements to the main push from Arvayheer to Hadasan and then on to Bulgan, before finally arriving at Moron, some 20 Kilometes south of the Russian defensive lines. [hide=Attack plans] [/hide] [hide=Current map] [/hide] You can either use the simple map above or you can use this map to plan your next set of attacks. http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/middle_east_and_asia/mongolia_pol_1989.jpg Preferance on the complex map, and double preferance if you attack from where you troops actually are. In Uzbekistan the bombing of the Capital(Capital with an a, not an o....Americans...) has killed two hundred and eighty people. Gurrilia action in the occupied territories has spilled over as insurgant forces rising up in pockets of the country The United Nations has called on the International Community to intervene in this war of aggression, but thus far no nation has been willing to commit troops. The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
I have been moderating for 5 minutes and have been doing two wars. But Sorry anyway. Anyway, as I said in my post(to the second point) Hydrogen Fuel Cell Cars have inspired other countries to produce more electricity. Its one of of those typically stupid logic fails that blames the inventor for the ignorance of others... Ie 'Do not try to dry your hampster in the Microwave' and then the Microwave company gets sued. As to the WW1 thing...Its what 'Must ' happen, it was toned up from the 'pre-1890' to avoid seeming too extreme...in any case that is what the report says.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
With Winter fast approaching, and the global climate situation worsening yearly, there have been renewed calls for the creation of an International Responce to Climate Change, as opposed to the drift into greener industries we have seen in recent years. Bans on deforestation in Brazil, Russia and Indonesia, as well as a ban on Beef Globally and the reduction of production capacity to pre First World War levels have all been called for by the UNO's Environmental Watchdog Agency. In addition to this a reduction in space missions that pump thousands of tonnes of CO2 into the Atomsphere yearly, as well as a ban on Oil, Coal and Gas Burning Power Stations. Japan, who have largely been at the forefront of the environmental campaign in the UN has been suggested to hold the title of Offical United Nations Car Maker, for their brilliant Algae-Fuel Cars. Meanwhile Brazil has been critised for its development of the Hydrogen Cell, which, while on the face of it appears to do good, and indeed in SATO has been hugely successful, has, overseas, inspired a huge build electrical generation plants, typically Coal and Oil plants, which have generated Hydrogen in that way...effectively making the situation worse. Switzerland has also been critised for it's Electric Car, but also praised for the reduction of CO2 emissions from Central Europe thanks to the two Hydrogological Plants. However since it's scrapping, somewhat foolishly, of the P-Jet, the massive Luna construction projects it has been engaged in have been taking a very heavy toll on the environment. Russia meanwhile has been a mixed bag with no real progress being made. However the two most damned country have been the Federation and China, both of which have increased their CO2 emissions. The Federation, already at odds with the UN for the Human Rights Violations of the recent months has been particularly battered by the Watchdog, with one person going so far as to say 'America took two ecologically improving nations and turned them into belching soot factories!' China on the other hand got off relatively lightly after its four month boycott of the UN only a few years ago. Particular concern over Abbysinia as well, which seems set on its Green Policy, but with a rapidly worsening treasury, as well as the threat of war always looming large. Looking to the future the Environmental Watchdog has grave concerns over Japanese involvement in Africa, which could turn the countries into new industrial wastelands, or into green paradises. However, it has warned that, "Even if we wholeheartedly embrace the problems we now face and work to combat them, we must understand that we have gone too far to prevent Global Warming. The very best we can hope for is damage limitation now, preventing a death toll of billions."

It might be highly effective...Not on a small scale, but for something like Artiliary, a large carbon nano-tube spring might just balance out when firing building sized rocks...or something...I don't know.
