The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
S-Net(Though notably not the Australian part) is highly critical of Australia's attempt to sell the public a lame horse and call it a stallion.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Switzerland is highly upset by the comments and drives further into isolationism. Numerous American ISPs were hacked in subsequent weeks, leading to a small fall in the value of Gold to $950 per ounce.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
S-Net seems largely against the principle of genetic engineering now, owing to the potential construction of biological weapons and so called 'Swiss Diplomacy'(Sending in a plane with Nerve Gas to destroy all opposition). The general populous don't seem to buy the whole 'Medical Benefits' side of things, largely because they don't understand it.

Rocco, thats hardly going to sway public opinion to like genetic engineering.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
S-Net is world opinion(By internet, so it doesn't represent everyone, and is not binding) Japan is often compared to an Imperial Empire, but also as the new Asian power to protect the world from China...And the New Asian power to protect the world from America.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Ross I am sure the UN will have something to say about Human Genetic Engineering...who knows, they might have to embargo you. Anyway S-Net is split over the rights and wrongs of Genetic Engineering...so more Tee-Shirts are sold!

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
I think he is just making the distinction from the past practice of 'They join my trade alliance and I now control them' as happened with Japan....

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
S-Net is Global and wireless...And expanding onto Luna. Also its not really in Russia's interest to put those nations into TFTA because the Gas, Oil and Excetera pipelines are a major source of revenue. Conversely they will jump at the chance to get out of paying above the odds.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
S-Net is flooded with Anti-Japanese messages. Japanese people respond with Anti-Indian messages. S-Net begins selling Tee-shirts with famous messages to Thailand, revenues increase.

I think he means that Japan blocked transmission, compromising free speech, as declared in the UDHR

Its truely amazing, I have posted something which would help me and Dusty didn't point out unfeasibility. =P- The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Good point. I am sure Sere will decide what will happen as a result.- Dungeoneering
If I was running it I would probably start the same way as Dungeoneering... Abandoned Space Station(Beamed in by god...obviously), working together(or against each other) to get off of the station and into space(or to bring the station back to power, open plan is awesome). When you are in space stuff happens...much harder to take control of planets though, so there would probably be companies and stations. Obviously you would gather a crew together and then jet off into space, not just you in a fighter against the universe...=P- Dungeoneering
Mather, it is dead, no one has posted to be part of it...(I was going to but after five minutes of thinking about Star Gate I gave up.)- The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Switzerland agrees with Russia, though the law has not changed internal factors have made drugs even less tolerated than normal and will probably be outlawed entirely within a few years. Plans to criminalise smoking in Switzerland are underway, though it will take many years. Further in a very happy turn of events Homosexual Marriage has been made legal, entirely equal to to Hetrosexual Marriage (Despite the Right Wing Tendancies homosexuality has been legal since 1789 in a number of canons, and nationwide since 1942...at the hight of the Second World War. On a related note homosexual bonding seems to be a growing factor in youth culture, thanks largely to the Last Cresent Youth Organisation. Though not homosexual many young people feel comfortable in enjoying the bodies of the same sex, while the opposite sex is increasingly reserved for specifically loving bonds. Divorce is becoming less tolerated. Adoption rights have spread to homosexual couples. Massive sexual education, as well as free protection, has led to a sharp decline in Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Infections. It is believed that they might actually be wiped out within two years. AIDs and HIV suffers are not isolated from this cultural revolution, but are required to get a RISUG, to prevent the spread of the diseases, though if they are trying for a child then this can be forgone, but they must do at a special facility to prevent the spread. Under this system AIDs and HIV will be wiped out within 50 years(assumedly) (NB http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reversible_inhibition_of_sperm_under_guidance ) Right, lecture time. Toodle pip.- Dungeoneering
I think he was taking about Hegemony, Planeteering seems to have just died because of Star Gate's interferance(for me anyway) or general dislike for a space concept. There is not really a way round it, unless I go around locking and unlocking threads... I think Hegemony should be conducted during the day(Ie 3 am to 8 pm GMT) Dungeoneering should be 8pm to either 12 am or 3 am on alternating days with MD MD should be 8pm to whenver retech wants to run it to.- The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Mather, that is something for Sere to decide. Also I am fairly sure me, Dusty, Sere, Grim, Rocco and Ross would vote against Italy becoming suddenly controlled by Scandinavia, so would veto it by majority if necessary. In any case Switzerland has no reason to accept Salt Water(Seriously, (effectively) limitless power, remember?) If you send any workers into Switzerland then they will probably be killed by the minefields... There are signs all over the place saying 'Warning, Death! Entering Switzerland by Land is Impossible due to Massive Minefields. Please ask Swiss Immigration for a permit and for flights to Switzerland*' In all the languages of Earth. *There is probably one or two a day, mainly filled with people wanting to access safty deposit boxes. Due to this there is a Gold Member ability, allowing them to call on a Stratos Jet at any time to take them to Switzerland, this is obviously paid for by the charge of the deposit box(Prices have not increased). Update on the S-Net: having grown to roughly a 90th of the size of the Internet(Its been running for 6 months, compared to the Internet's 40ish years), is beginning to superceed the Internet as the main form of communication. Steven Newton is engaged in a battle with Microsoft...well by engaged I mean Microsoft is throwing money at the Swiss Government to stop S-Net. The Swiss Government is resisting Microsoft. There has been some limited development of the satalite network, which now provides around 56kb/s Earth-Satalite connections, while Satalite-Earth connections are still 5 minutes, regardless of size. S-Net has overtaken the Iphone, the Sat Nav, Black Berry as the toy of choice and virtually all mobile phone networks are now using the connection to suppliment their connections(Though the majority is still though independant satalites). A counter-revolution is starting on S-Net to seperate control of the S-Net from Newton's Control. Fortunately this is clearly a Microsoft ploy and so has gained little support from the open-source community, which largely supports Newton's devil may care attitude. An online forum has provided conclusive proof of the impossiblity of FTL travel, after discussion about the ECM attracted the attention of renowned Romanian Physist Daciana Gettysburg FTL drive has been concluded as impossible due to the Gettysburg Helix Principle...which states that anything which travels in sub/hyperspace...whatever...must exist on the other side of the divide, also. Thus meaning that any object moving in sub/hyper space would be subject to the same laws of physics, making any attempt at breaking though pointless. Wormholes are shown to squish everything to the size of a pin-head, and thus would kill humans and their ships. The Basel Hydrological Plant has been completed. Electricity is now being pumped out in massive quantities. Construction of the Geneva Hydrological Plant is now under construction. Negotiations with France has been opened on the Rhone, but since the Swiss portion only contributes 500 M^3 out of 2000 odd it will not have a significant effect on the river. The plant is designed to ensure that Switzerland is not plunged into darkness if anything happens in Basel. A more traditional Solar-Electric plant is being built in Bern and another in Vaduz, in Lictenstien. Both sites will be inactive until use, but will collect the Solar Energy that would be normally used in Basel and Geneva to heat the water, this will provide much less power though.- The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Doom- K. I am going to bed, back when the firewall updates and I might get another 10 minutes of Star Trek Online- The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
I think you have got your tonnage wrong somewhere (272*5 is only 1,360, and that is not even South America.), can you give me a link?- The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
GDP is irrelevant in the calculation. Brazil- Doom Gold Tonnes: 33.6 Us Dollars: 1,080,240,000 Didn't add the five 0s. In any event, what are you purchasing this Gold with? And won't that screw the world economy...since other places need gold too...- The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Dusty, fair point, but given that Romania has just set up this system, and that Switzerland continues to operate the system...and that the shortest of the contracts last for 10 years(Or so I am told)...It seems that Romania will not instantously pick up the 400 year old customers of Swiss Banks, because of one week...especially given that both nations were involved in it. Hence competition.- The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Dusty, Switzerland continues to operate the best security deposit system...and always has done...and always will do. Competition is always good, but tried and tested seems best...at this point. - The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
