  1. Then you probably tricked your mind. Kinda like how if I am up for a 26 hour day, it usually goes 12 hours of being awake, 4 hours of being tired, 10 hours of being awake. If you can push through the 'I am tired' bits your body has a tendancy to give up trying to force you to sleep and start giving you energy again. You could have also tricked your body through a power nap I guess http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powernap You didn't actually fall asleep, you just convinced yourself you did based on two things: 1) You felt tired to begin with 2) You felt awake at the end 3) You were trying to go to sleep In terms of doing more than one hours work in less than one hour...I question the premise. If you say 'It is more than one hours work' and then do it in less than one hour it tends to indicate that it isn't actually doesn't take as long as you initally thought. Reminds me of Star Trek: [hide] [/hide]
  2. There really is no 'best' way to play. As to the strongest character... I doubt there is one. I think everyone, with the possible exception of Mather, could be killed by a single lucky roll. And Mather, I will state this, just so you are fully aware. Your ability to swallow up people is limited to quite a small area, about 1 cubic meter. You cannot walk into a bandit camp and swallow it whole.
  3. Done that before. Went to bed, convinced I fell asleep, woke up about 3 minutes later, it was still dark outside. Opened the curtains, ignored that it was dark, got dressed, went downstairs, made breakfast, sat on the sofa and worried I was going to be late because no one else was up yet. Eventually, five or twenty minutes later I realised that the minute had wasn't the hour hand and then went back to bed. Also had the opposite where I slept for 26 hours and was tired at the end of it (after a reasonably stable sleep pattern) I can only assume that our minds were too tired to register that we were tired...also maybe an indicator that our lives are too much on Autopilot =P
  4. Iey, if you decide something then let me know, otherwise I will have you arrive next to Benedict, if that is ok.
  5. I don't think an absolutely massive amount of story has happened... Party(minus Jen, Hakon, Arrina and Mask) arrived at Lightgate, respawn point in the Church (since Ico got friendly(not a euphamism) with the Holy Father, more than 'ITS A CHURCH') Children were returned to their father. Aeon killed the Blacksmith, and was subsequently killed. Jen's group (since Jen is easier to type by one letter) have gone through 4 different camps of their own making, usually because something goes horribly wrong and they nearly die. Earth's group (Nexurado, Earth and Stork(your fellow mod since I can't spell his current name and John probably would mean nothing to you)) have taken up residency in a field that was mysteriously burned down. Ico has done some Questing in Lightgate, discovering the secret of the Graveyard and now is heading off to a Monestary. (Not sure which, Ico?) Ross has arrived in Caster and brought a bounty hunter's licence and has 'liberated' a farmstead.
  6. Preaching to the Choir = Not getting attacked by those you are castigating.
  7. Aye, its fine. I started 1.0 levels behind what your stats should be because I couldn't find your starting stats. I will update them later on
  8. Well, that, as they say, is that. 178 Hours (slightly less because I skipped 5 shows I think, slightly more because of 7 half-disks of Documentary to go with it) of Star Trek watched. Its a brilliant, though tremendously tiring experiance and I would strongly recommend that people watch it. Actually parts of the Documentary reminded me of the Tavern at parts...Specifically this evening, where many of us came together to produce the Crossroads game, all (or many of us) chatting in the discussion channel, and even though we have different ways of playing the game, different characters we are trying to bring out, different agendas...we actually do work together to create the game. I suppose the nicest thing this evening was that we really played a game. We had Retech, Mather, Lei and Mask player their version. Nex, Earth(Yes even though you weren't here I could imagine you being there) and Stork doing their part. Ross and Ico playing their lone characters, without the grand scheme, just taking whatever the game threw at them. All talking about their game without fighting over it. I really think we have hit it right this time.
  9. Its so hard to keep track of your potions; whether people picked up X or Y, ect =P And the Shovel, seriously, when is a Shovel ever gonna come in useful

  13. Right then, update time: Firstly we now have 3 channels; Inn, Cove and Lightgate. Inn_discussion will still be up. /join #Inn/#Cove/#Lightgate tavern Secondly the leveling system has been reworked due to conversations with Retech (so blame him  ) At level 5 you get to pick a specialisation, which makes whatever that ability is only require a +5 roll to suceed. So say you were level 5 Fire Magic and you wanted to cast fireball more often than not, then you would pick that as your specialism. Whenever you levelup between 6 thru 19 you can pick another specialism. Level 20 thru 35 you can pick 2 specialisms. Ect. If you put two specialism in the same ability then you can cast it without needing to roll. If you put three specialism in the same ability you can cast it without using any Mana. Specialising beyond 3 carries no inherant benefit, but you can negotiate some special bonus if you want, out of session. Non magical people: 1 Specialism reduces it to a +5 check, 2 Specialisms reduce it to no check, 3 specialisms allow you to do it as a free action (aka you can do that AND something else in the same turn). Specialising beyond 3 allows you to do it more than once a turn. Up to 5 specialisms. Non-Combat people: As above specialism reduces the check for the first two. Third specialism decreases the roll time from 4 minutes to 2 minutes. Fourth specialism decreases it to 1 minute. Summoners: You can specialise as many times as you like, each specialism in summoning increases your effective level by 1 when summoning. Aka your beasty will be 1 size larger. Starting in 2 hours approx.
  14. Only free after 6pm on a Sunday. Also Halflings seem nerfed in relation to other races...They have +13 overall with no perks while Drow have +19 and two extra perks(Really the Halfling perk is +1 Evasion, which is a Utility and was counted as such) Spriggans have +19 as well, with 2 perks Eldrich have -5 and 3 perks Dwarfs have +6 and 2 perks (again one of the perks isn't a perk) Human have +26 and no perks
  15. Aye, Mass Effect added something to to the game, but the game was complete without them. The exception being Arrival, which really should have been part of the standard game, or, at the very least, released as a free addon...especially since it directly maps onto Mass Effect 3. Can understand why they might have done it, it did expand the game, and you don't NEED it to play Mass Effect 3...But still...I can remember Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge...Now that was an expansion pack.
  16. To be fair that has happened a lot throughout the history of video games...its just in the past games were limited in their size by memory...Now you can cram just about as much stuff in as you like, so we notice the difference between really hard games and long games. See Hitman.
  17. Paul being witty: [hide] [/hide] I lol'ed
  18. I am impressed by your ISP as well...Apparently they have Steam Fooling Software that forces it to display 13.8 Mb/s rather than 110.4. On an unrelated note, Glasses?
  19. So more conclusive proof you are not Objective. According to Mather Humans are not intelligent. Now we know. Seriously Mather, fun though it is to point at the holes in a box full of bullet ridden Bibles, arguing against you is becoming an exercise in tediousness.
  20. Owing to a phone call from the survey people me starting dinner was delayed by 20 minutes(Huzzah for long surveys), which means the session will be delayed by about half an hour. However, I will be there, so if you want to get on and talk about stuff you are welcome.
