  1. It works fine. You just have say it with the emphasis. We enjoy spending time together could mean we both enjoy spending time in each other's company. We enjoy spending time together could mean we enjoy spending time with each other's bodies. Its reasonably subtle, and the English are masters of understatement and subtly, so maybe it is just something English people get. They could all mean something romantic or totally innocent. Mostly it depends on the way you speak normally, and it is quite clear that the Norse/Anglo way of speaking is different from the Americano way of speaking. It also could be that both Mather and myself are looking for an alternate interpretation. Mather because he is carnally inclined, and me because I enjoy manipulating language.
  2. Nex, in responce to your second point: Its quiet easy to subtly change the meaning of what both myself and your said, you just have to say certain words with emphasis. And it was a good use of the Irony Mark, I smiled.
  3. That could just mean they were friends...I hang out an enjoy the presence of many people, it doesn't mean I am with them.

  5. Aye, comparing my face to Mather's face(avaliable on his profile page) I am considerably more pale than he is. Since I am not photogenic, here is a picture of my hand: [hide] Watching Star Trek so go figure.[/hide] I believe you؟
  6. Mather, Aeon would have outstripped you by just randomly animating trees and blowing stuff up. And healing takes time. Also can you give me your A symbol you use when you say Hakon, trying to program the computer to display names more clearly.
  7. Indeed. I should point out that both Jen and Mather have been the closest to dying, followed by Ross, who is currently the richest. The only exception is Aeon, who would easily be the most powerful here if he hasn't died.
  8. What are you basing this assumption on? Zareph, Jen, Benedict, Aeon, Hakon....all of them have sustained injuries that would have killed them normally. Pretty much everyone who has done some fighting...and most of that has been against people with 1 wound and no armour. There was that Treant that Aeon imbued, that would have easily killed 1 or 2 people had it not been for most the rest of the group running to his rescue. In addition the party is in a tiny corner of the map (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12603519/The%20County-Bright-Roads.png. Assume 50-100 pixals per day of travel by road, 10-50 pixals otherwise. Though this is subject to mod being arbitrary. Also assume that you will die if you cross into other countries/counties  ) Aside from that? Having adventurers that go 'You walk into the forest, a wild Dire Bear appears and attacks you (5+ to suceed, rolled a 13), you try to dodge (15+ to suceed, rolled an 18) and avoid its maw. You then attempt to attack (10+ to suceed, rolled a 3), it tries to repose your attack (5+ to suceed, it rolls a 3), it attempts to attack (5+ to suceed, it rolls a 1). The bear manages to slice its claw open on your sword (Takes 1 wound of 14), you attempt to attack (15+ to suceed, rolled a 7), it attempts to attack (5+ to suceed, rolled a 16), you attempt to dodge (15+ to suceed, rolled a 14), its claw impacts on the side of your head. (You take 6 wounds, armour reduces the damage to 5 wounds) (Standard human diagram roll (6 parts, 1=head, ect), rolled a 1) Your head is torn off and explodes when it hits a nearby tree travelling at some speed. Your body stands there for a moment before gravity takes control and it falls to the ground. Once down the Dire Bear begins to eat you. From that you would have got.... +0.2 Dodging and -1.0 skill.' Essentially, take less than 1 hit, with a 75% chance of getting hit each round, while hitting the enemy at least 7 times, with a 25% chance of hitting the enemy per round. So 0.00000037252902984619140625% chance of suceeding Would not be fun.
  9. If you imagine you and I are doing a set of tests. I get 70% and you get 100% However, you feel that you could get 120%, and your parents agree, so argue strongly that you can get 120% if you were allowed. So the school, which is not governed by any centralised body, decides to allow some people to do special tests to get 120%, and they make up some jargon (5.0 GPA or whatever) that satisifies the parents. I complain that I am not allowed to do the special tests, and so the school decides to give me an extra 20% to compensate. The upshot? The school when from achieving an average of 85% to achieving an average of 105%. The Government is impressed and takes some money from the 'failing schools' (The ones with 85% averages, also the actually crap schools) and gives it to the 105% schools. All of which leads to people who are not neccessarily smarter (though that does occur as a side benefit) but a great deal of people who are prone to take advantage of the system to give themselves an advantage. To the detriment of others who may be working just as hard, if not more so. But you know, free market education and all...Kids can always choose a better school, better state.........better country.
  10. ... Which is what I said in the post above yours. You just keep trying to invert the argument, which is tedious.
  11. You wrote: I wrote: So thanks for inverting the thought process.
  12. Longbows were invented in the 11-12th century... Stuff that obviously isn't in the period is just silly.
  13. Well you know America...Some people were getting higher than high, so they redesigned the system to allow them to get even higher...so people began getting higher as average...so they redesigned the system... All of which would be good if the average wasn't moved up by people complaining that they were not getting the advantages that others got =P
  14. It is an inherant part of roleplaying in the 'past' A game might be supposed to take place in the 900s, but that doesn't mean that people won't expect Longbows and Katanas to exist. Ultimately it depends on the historical knowledge of the player and the GM, and how willing they are to ignore it in favour of just playing the game.
  15. Because I am tired, here are the scanned sessions sheets: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12603519/9.tif http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12603519/10.tif Not in image tags because of their size, and yes, not the easiest thing to read. Anywho, next session is next Thursday. I would really appreciate people writing a short thing to conclude their day so we can all start at the same time on Thursday. If people want to talk to me about events please feel free to PM me, or message me. PS. not here tommrow.
  16. /join #inn tavern Its up, we are doing Q&A to begin with so if you are only interested in playing then join in 1 hour.
  17. Russia works very well in Victoria 2. The economy takes care of itself, all of your neighbours are reasonably happy with you and don't want to kill you...all in all a very smooth ride. The main problem (being technologically backwards and having a deficet) can be solved within 30 years (National focus clerks, research national focus things, scrap all but 20 ships in your navy). Spontanously everything is A-Ok.

  20. They blew up the starting place, killed the quest giver, almost got killed by the reward...And are trying to turn children in staffs...All the usual.
  21. Map: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12603519/The%20County-Bright-Roads.png You already know what you are doing. Edit: The real First Post
  22. Ok, session will be running from 15 minutes onwards. #Inn tavern If you can't attend don't worry, this will be an introduction and refresher(since it has been some months since I last did this)
  23. I would imagine it would be the same difficulty throughout. If we decide we need higher level blessings/curses then we can cross that bridge when we come to it.
