  3. After reading both your posts today it occurs to me you may want to fork over some RL money for a better mouse.
  4. Haven't seen the movie, the book was good.
  5. http://www.rsinn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2081 This was before the Fremmeniks, the Morytania, the Kharid, this was our original explanation. I'll have to come up with some examinations of the text of Bob the Jagex cat so see if we can logically come to the conclusion that Guthix is a Jekyll and Hyde character. I don't think it's plausible, as they start mixing things in with an official Jagex Cat, and the Mage Gower.
  6. AHAHAHAHAH HAHAHAHA RAW CHICKEN AHAHAHAHA
  7. Yeah, who'd have though that this strange thing called "morality" still existed in today's society. Morality (the right or wrongness of an action) is determined by one's code of ethics. There are a fair number of ethical systems *cough* Machiavellianism *cough* that would agree that blocking ads is what one *ought* to do, i.e. a "right" act.
  8. A friend of mine showed me this post, quite likely I wouldn't have read it otherwise. Personally, I feel it depends on the amount of obligation a user feels towards his sites of service. I have been around the net for a very long time (but clearly not as familiar with its intricacies as a number of you), and seen clearly misleading, intrusive, annoying, and dangerous adverts. I use IE (gasp), and will only block adverts that try to run ActiveX controls without my permission. Most popups I will give a cursory glance, and then close. I will not often mute commercials that I see on television, and instead let the marketers have their 7-10 minutes out of my 30. I don't have a huge problem with adverts, as I know I am a consumer with some income that interests some company out there. It's all the better if we can help each other. I dislike adverts with sound like the fly swatting one, as I often have more than one browser window open, and the sound will continue to play even with the other window displayed. If I don't believe an advert's claim to be useful (Free Lingerie!) or genuine (CLICK THIS TRUCK AND GET A FREE XBOX), of what use is it to me to continue looking at it? My computer is more than a tool for displaying advertisements and providing entertainment. If an advertisement company respects that, I have no problem letting them show me their wares along the way.
  9. I'm guessing that Jagex didn't put in an aggressive mode on the whip because of its high attack spec and high speed.
  10. They are doing nothing of the sort. You obviously haven't figured out quite how the whole combat thing works. Since there is only the strength pot for f2p, here's what you can do (these are just examples) Train def, att, and hits more than strength, and then use a pot to raise to to the others: def: 25 att: 25 hits: 25 Str: 20 + pot = 25 (remember, this is just an example, we all know it would NOT work out this way...) Or you could train them all the same and use the pot: def: 25 att: 25 hits: 25 str: 25 + pot = 30 (so now you're even stronger in strength than the others) or you could go the berserk attacking style, and train nothing but strength: def: 10 att: 10 hits: 20 str: 60 + pot = 75 (again, another example with bad statistics to back it up, but you get the picture) Okay, let's try a beserk attack model- att: 60 def: 10 str: 10 (pots to 15) hp: 20 Now we have the same combat level, but your character has a HUGE (10 skill point= 2.5 combat levels, effectively) advantage because I have no potion to augment my highest stat. And if that's not simple enough for you to understand, I see no point in continuing this argument.
  11. Yes, the low level potions are critical, in my eyes. It is because of this that all f2p player v. player melee characters carry the same skill set. Moderate attack, high strength, low defense. Without any potions but strength, any character without that skillset is at a disadvantage in pvp combat. Jagex is forcing all f2players to become the same if they want to fight as melee. This should not be encouraged.
  12. Privateer owned Freelancer in every conceivable way. It had an awesome plot, it was FRICKING HUGE for its day and age, and it was clever and thoughtful.
  13. The server is still up with a few players
  14. Andrew Gower's answer: Well, it's kind of a long story. We were having some problems with the friendserver, so I and Mod Tomd were having a looksee at the code, and we ran through it several times to see what the matter was. After cleaning it up to run more smoothly, we decided that we could handle people getting a new 50 or so entries into the friends list. So, we started playing with the code, and Mod Tomd decided he could just add a new variable called newmaxrange and set it to maxrange+50, but he didn't realize that it would affect not only the friendslist, but also all the other classes in the Java packages that make up RuneScape. So, what happened, is all the NPCs kept increasing their wandering ranges in an infinite loop, and some of the chickens started crossing roads all over the place. But Mod Tomd and I went right back to work fixing what we had messed up with a backup copy, and we were checking to make sure it's done right, which means you won't get any updates for a month or two, but it's okay because with a job like this you can never be too careful, and I'm sure you won't mind because its not like we were releasing anything of value anyway. 15. Leaving this up for a bit longer today.
  16. http://public.www.planetmirror.com/pub/bluesnews/ut/demo/utdemo348.exe If you copy and paste that, it ought to work. I can't think of anything else, except that my character is spectating, so Im always watchin you
  17. Blue team is humans, only change if it gets really unbalanced. The bots are on easiest for all the newbies that haven't yet learned to play.
  18. If you have trouble connecting to the server right after a match, just re-enter the connection. And let me know now if you want to just run a humans vs bots for the rest of the night.
  19. what seems to be the problem?
  20. Change it to [Caution: ExecutableFile] like its supposed to be.
  21. And it's currently humming.
  22. Weapons vary, though I had it on instagib most of the afternoon. I'm going ot leave it on so you can play while I'm away.
  23. We're playing the demo version of the ORIGINAL UT, since not everybody has the CD. I'm leaving the server running for a while, and it will autocycle maps. Everyone is welcome.
