Iron IT Out The Backstory: I'm working on getting a visage, and I've already shot 10k deaths, 15k chaos, and 5k bloods down at the steel dragons and I'm kind of sick of it, so I'm moving to Irons. I just bought 30k fires to go with my 7k chaos, and now I'm going to take you along for the ride on trying to get a visage. Every 500 chaos, I'll update this thread with what I've kept. If you want to support me, just post and say hi or something. I'm w70 brimhaven dungeon. 500.1 Title: Thanks for the curry! I've been a little tired lately, getting less than 4-5 hours of sleep before work, and it's beginning to catch up to me. As a result, I had some music on, and I closed my eyes to rest them and when I opened them (read: woke up) I was on 35 hp slowly getting burned to death. The music I fell asleep to? Jamiroquai - Alright Drops of note include only 45 blood runes and, thankfully, Curry. If not for that, I'd still be at 40 hp. 500.2 Title: Pot up, Kizzaro! This 500 runes was a bit more interesting than the last 500, another player named Kizzaro came up to chat with me and to ask what I was doing there, whether I was on slayer or dragon item hunting. I told him I was wasting runes. He had an iron dragon redbarred for quite a long time before he delivered the killing blow. Pot up, Kizzaro! The music for this part was: Moby - Natural Blues Notable drops this time include another 30 blood runes and a rune battleaxe. 500.3 Title: It's Oh So Quiet This 500 runes was as uneventful as the first. I only answered one question from another dragon hunter, my mage level - 91. He said it was nice. Then a steel dragon attacked him. He was fighting Irons, though, he had a slayer mask on. I got an extraordinary kebab from the drunken dwarf. I really wonder why there are randoms down here. A couple of friends logged out for the night. /there's good and evil inside each individual/ Music: Atmosphere - The Woman With Tattooed Hands Notable drops include enough blood runes to bring my total to 135, as well as an addy sq. I also recieved a drop of nothing other than the bones and the bars. That was weird. 500.4 Title: getting down & dirty This 500 brought a little more chat from my friends, one asking if my house had a boxing ring (it does) and if he could use it to see his max with a dbow (he can't since I'm not teleing there anytime soon). Also had a chat with my friend about P. Diddy and **ork (bee-york). I found a friend of mine is moving house soon. She lives in Canada. Randoms are SO stupid. Music: Korn - Freak on A Leash (techno mix) Notable drops this time is another nothing drop as well as another rune battle axe. Blood Rune Count: 210 500.5 Title: Welcome back, Taylor Taylor came back from his away state during these 500 shots. We talked a bit about mithril bolts and he left to watch a movie. Someone came down here using a mixture of water wave and wind wave, probably how I'll waste bloods after (if) I run out of chaos. I'm doubting that I'll get anything worthwhile in these seven thousand runes, and that disappoints me. I'm sick of these dry runs. Music: Harvey Danger - Flagpole Sitta Notable Drops: A pair of rune limbs. I also noticed that I'm very slowly collecting Addy bolts. Blood Rune count: 255 500.6 Title: through thick and thin This 500 shots seemed to go by both quickly and slowly. I suppose the upbeat music in the beginning and the downbeat music towards the end contributed to the mood. There's really not a lot going on down here, I think everyone left for the night. I don't blame them. I'm contemplating asking someone to deliver me runes down here because I'm pretty certain that I won't have anything of note to bank, and I'd like to keep this thread around, it's kind of fun to just think out loud. At the very least, it gives the audience a couple of ideas for songs to download. Blood Rune Count: still 255 500.7 Title: half and half and half This 500 finds me falling asleep at my keyboard again, but there's not a lot I can do about it. I've vowed to stay for a bit longer. I'm 91 mage, rapidly approaching 92 mage, which I have an abundance of runes to get while I'm down here. The 7th set of 500 marks the halfway point of my runes, as does the 92 mage mark the halfway point to 99 mage (do the math on the xp and you'll see it). Glad to see I have enough antifire potions to last me all the way through. So I'm half (way through my runes), half (way to 99 mage soon) and half (asleep). Music: Kylie Minogue - The Locomotion Notable drops: the only drop I could pick up in this set was another curry, I got a shocking 3 "nothing" drops, which was bothersome. 500.8 title: the living end This will probably be the last entry of the day, as I'm tired and I haven't logged out of the forms or the game since I made that first post. As I expected I got my magic level, and that is about all I'm wanting to do tonight. i did kill a steel dragon just for variety this set, it dropped rune javelins. Blood Rune Count: 270 500.9 Title: as if your life depended on it I'm still tired after a full night's sleep and a full day's work, but I'm continuing on this journey, and probably going to buy some more runes once these are out (or use my bloods, though I think I want to keep those...) I've floated in and out of a couple clan chats but none were really heavily trafficked or interesting. It's a shame there's not a really good one out there that's always as busy as I can find on IRC. First thing that happened was Noob Lord100 came to shoot some spells, and the dragons became more crowded than it was. A saturday night thing I suppose. I'm also pretty certain I'm going to make 68 prayer down here, both a good thing and a bad thing. It's good because it brings me a level closer to piety, and I've always hated prayer training so I'm happy with that. Unfortunately, having 67 prayer was a nice advantage in a stake duel, giving me a one or two up on stakers my level, because they had more prayer and less combat skills. Music: Wheatus - A Little Respect Drops of note include more rune limbs, more addy bolts than in any of the other sessions, an addy 2h, and a ruby from the mysterious old man that I had to eat a curry just to keep... Blood rune count: 305 (i shot another steel dragon and it dropped 20) 500.11 title: once in a bluemooz Another eventful 500, on the last dragon, I got my 68 prayer. I also managed to kill the last dragon on the exact 6000th rune. Noob Lord and I were joined by a level 113 in full initiate with a dfire shield, which it apparently took her only twenty kills to get. After what I've been through in this trip alone, I can't help but wonder if I'm doing something wrong, if I should take my ring of wealth on or what lol. I'm not sure I know what I'ma do when my runes are up. Music: The Cardigans - My Favorite Game Notable drops this time include more addy bolts, another rune battleaxe and 3k coins I picked up from another person's drop... Blood Rune Count: 335 500.12 title: aggroed those [bleep]es This 500 went a bit slower, and I got a chance to talk to some friends on various messengers and browse the rs forums, so I wasn't paying as close attention to what went on as I usually do. There's a lot of green on my friends list. The dragons are aggressive again. I dropped some curry for noob lord to pick up, but he's already out of chaos, and I'm going to have to do something about my own dwindling supply. I'm probably going to auction off my inventory for more chaos and fire runes and maybe some antifire pots. There are a few valuables in there, I wonder what I can get for it. Music: Garbage - Push It notable drops include more gold Blood Rune Count: 370 500.13 title: do no harm This is the second to last 500 this session and wow has it been odd. I've got loud music this time and my hand is aching since a coworker dropped something heavy on it at work today. Dropwise this has been by way far the best 500 of the trip and I don't think I'm going to outdo it. I'm having inventory control problems. /dance, this is the way they'd love/ if they knew how misery loved me Music: Fall Out Boy - Dance Dance Drops this trip got me a rune med, a half key, and a Dragon Med 500.14 title: uh oh Well, my 7k runes are out, but I'll be buying more, so I'm pretty fine with running out at that point. I got a few things to do, so I can pick this up a little later on, perhaps you'll see another entry or two on a new part of this sooner rather than later. Used up a couple of bloods to kill the last one. I've got a lot of spare cash so I think I may just buy runes instead of barrowing for them. Will do that asap Blood Rune Count: 387 (after shot ones) 500.15 title: what am i doing here I'm back at the metals, focusing mainly on steels with my fire bolts, I took some chaos I had saved that didn't quite make 1k, and added them to my 1100 and now have 2k to fire off down there, as well as 1k magic darts. Today, I don't suspect I'm going to get anything, I think I exhausted my luck at the Zamorak mages, where I got 2 pairs of boots in two days and the luck I had at barrows, but who knows? Jon is again here hanging out doing melee on these things with prayer pots. Music: Paris Hilton - Stars Are Blind Drops include an addy kite, limbs, curry, curry, curry, and some blood runes. 500.16 title: more of the more of the same This 500 is going pretty fast though I know I should have been in bed three hours ago, but I really don't mind. I'm having fun and my energy level is pretty high up there. Impressed with the herb update, it saves me time wandering around picking up herbs that I end up dropping anyway. Anything that saves me inv space and time is fine by me. Music: Zucchero - Baila Moreno Drops: A rune axe, a clue scroll, a rune mace and some pots i didn't pick up. 500.17 title: no exit I'm down here, after my friend had to go, I always like to ask about people that come down with a dfire shield, how they got it. This 125 i was speaking to bought one. She said it wasn't worth it. I should wonder what it's like. I know that I now have the money to buy one but I don't want to part with the cash right now. I think I'm between a rock and a hard place. I'm too stubborn to buy one but not patient enough to keep my sanity until one falls. I got 9 in the first 48 hours (averaging about 1 in what I assumed to be 96), but now I've been in a tailspin and not got one in my past 900 or so kills. Nerffffffffffffffed :roll:

The wilderness was actually suggested by someone that became a Jagex Moderator, a month or two later. Don't write about stuff, as if it were fact, when you don't even know it yourself obviously If it werent for US PLAYERS, we wouldn't have the friggin wilderness (still wish we never got it). Jagex made a poll, circa 1 month prior to the release, where they aired the idea, and whole concept of removing pk/non-pk, and putting in the wilderness instead. The majority voted "yes" and voilÃÆÃâÃâá, the wilderness was born.. Dunno where the hell you two got those ideas.. :-w But as always, I'm happy to teach the TRUE Rs history. 8-) And fook a ji hasn't done much progressing in runescape either.

There are a number of people that this update will effect in a critical way. The first is low-leveled players and low leveled herbalists who didn't much care for getting large stacks of herbs they couldn't ID. So instead of people being able to get a good deal from a new player selling a bunch of herbs that were of no use to them, they'll be much more motivated to hoard and merchant the herbs that are worth the most in the open market. Have any guess as to how many new players that would demand 5k for each dirty ranarr they pick up? Having players actually determine what an herb was after it was picked up did a much better job of ensuring that herbs of all sorts entered the market because people had a tendency to keep the herbs that they ided as ranarr+, but now if they see an avantoe on the floor, they'll be less inclined to pick it up when they can just kill a couple more cave crawlers for something better. Something tells me that this will jack up the prices of prayer pots.

I think the mage observation implies that armor at least partially serves a "reduce damage of successful attack to 0" role... It's an on-off thing, not a degree thing.

I know this seems like an overly simplistic reply, but doesn't the entire motivation for the resilliance skill simply mimic what armor already does, chiefly absorb the brunt of an attack? Proof of this might be obtained by fighting mithril dragons in dragonhide armor, praying protect from melee. You will take a lot of 0 damage from your dragonhide, as the dragon will hit you quite often with his mage attack, but your hide will absorb the blow. On the other hand you can determine how often he hits by your mage attack defense (if that makes any sense). It's one of the kind of glitches in runescape, you can tell when you've actually been *hit* by something, but take no damage from it. It also happens occasionally at infernal mages. It's different for pvp, I *think*, as I remember very few spells connecting that hit for 0 damage (except the occasional snare/entangle). I'm probably digressing, but I thought that needed to be shared.

The Official RS Drinking Game Well, as far as I know, nobody's thought up a clever RuneScape drinking game, though I did originally consider having a person take a shot every time someone says "nerd", "no life" or "loser" in edgeville bank. This one is a little more complicated. First of all let's get acquainted with things you need for this game: Brandy: There are a lot of derivatives, probably easiest to go with Hennessy Gin: I recommend Bombay Sapphire, though if your budget is short, you could try Beefeater. Vodka: I prefer Smirnoff and Absolut, though again you might go with a store brand if you choose. Whiskey: Jack Daniels is pretty much the standard for this game. It might also be useful to have: Gnome Restaurant Minigame training complete 66 magic 50 cooking A number of glory ammies A couple thousand coins A reliable ventrilo or TS server with friends who want to play too! How to play: Get your happy arse up to the Gnome Grand Tree with your mates, and start taking orders for gnome cuisine. Every person takes a hard cooking order. If you manage to get a food order, you're off the hook. If you get an alcoholic drink order (wizzard blizzard, sgg, drunk dragon, chocolate saturday, or blurberry special) you have to take a shot of the alcohol required to make the cocktail. Here's a guide to what you'll be doing (drinking): Wizard Blizzard - 2 shots of vodka, 1 shot gin (this is my favorite!) SGG - 1 shot of vodka Drunk Dragon - 1 shot vodka, 1 shot gin Chocolate Saturday - 1 shot whiskey Blurberry special - 1 shot vodka, 1 shot whiskey, 1 shot brandy Now this is the chief time you'll drink, but not the only time you drink. Since everyone takes an order at the same time, the last one to finish any given order has to take a shot. Everybody reconvenes in the grand tree after a round of deliveries is done. If you fail an order, you're out of the game. The last person doing orders wins. Notes: This is especially fun with 4 or 5 players.
