  1. Oh, I just thought it was safe because nobody is going to use it.
  2. Well, I clipped your post a little because I wanted to quote it, and I'm still scratching my own head. A lot of goodbyes and history and I'm not too sure what else, but this seemed like the meat and potatoes of the whole thing. If I've quoted and read this correctly, you let someone you didn't know very well log onto runescape on your computer, even though he had his laptop right there... You said you're a senior at UC Berkley, so I'm wondering if you have been hanging around with an 18-22 year old (college age) cracker of accounts or if something else is the case. I'm really not satisfied that I'm hearing the whole truth. Now aside from that huge lapse in judgment (which is either A. letting a stranger play runescape on your pc or B. letting someone you know to be an account stealer - which you said was not the case, i.e. you didn't know) you decided to push your luck a little further, and put yourself in a position to take money from that account. While that seems a bit to me like a set-up, maybe in retrospect it does to you too. I'm just really wondering about this mysterious "person that came over to show you a lvl 91 account". I reiterate that there has got to be more to the story than we're hearing. Good luck getting your account back if you're not guilty of being anything more than clueless in a dangerous situation, yadda yadda yadda, though I do wonder if we'll see another Duke Freedom type thing where he eventually owns up to whatever he really did.
  3. When they introduce 20 party hats into the game by making false listings, a lot of money will disappear.
  4. Wonder what effect this will have on barrows - now people can buy whatever piece they want... can fill up sets almost instantly.
  5. So, what does one call a person that probably has a 14 page dust devil drop log with another 8 people spamming "gl" for their post count, a sig that takes about 20 seconds to make in Paint Shop Pro and thinks that writing "hyt" with ashes is a grand enough accomplishment to merit making an avatar over? Come on, you know you're thinking it. OT: Happy Halloween! one doesnt call that person anything. he probably has his reason to do thing like that, and if you feel the need to flame him because of it then you shouldn't even be on here. maybe it did take him 20 secs to do the sggy, but who cares? it looks nice. you can take your attitude and go put it in a trash can. Ah, I was waiting for this. Because of the subjective nature of our own existence and our own likes and dislikes (mine, to say, a poorly made graphic... and his to my attitude), we are often going to face a number of behaviors and people we find unpleasant. And rather than trying to explain to someone why their behavior is unpleasant it is often much easier to drop a utilitarian expression of disgust. If someone is so arrogant and ignorant, why even bother arguing? (truly no offense to you, wingedfish, and as to karlpetter, thank you for playing!) edited because i can't spell
  6. Highlanders is right. Life is meant to be enjoyed.

  8. Working on a vintage game- Wing Commander: Privateer.
  9. There's two plays on words there. One is a sheep + a dog = sheepdog. The other is a spider with a human head = Spiderman. I forget the donkey one, though.
  10. The only monster I can't really currently kill is the Dark Beast, and after soloing Gen. Graardor, 2 manning Kreeara and the Zam General, (I've scrapped the sara boss bc i dont feel like potting in) I can say there is nothing that's a serious combat challenge other than fighting lag. GWDing and FightCaving is just a grind now. To be able to potion ourselves temporarily (in a certain arena) to 200+ hp, we could see some very interesting group fights against monsters that can hit huge. While there is no good loot-sharing system, I don't think we'll see them, and it's probably for the best. I still tire of soloing to no end and ending up with jack.
  11. I've always been highly suspicious of HLA, and for that reason an incredible amount of my mage xp is combat based. (Read: More than 90%). Slayer dart, fire bolt, the occasional godspell, you name it.
  12. If mining and woodcut weren't so absolutely trashed to [bleep] and they weren't such an awful grind, maybe people would resource gather.
  13. 91 rcers are already jacking off over this update because now they'll have a reason to raise their prices. Well, I bet this update will hurt fletching to help RC and I'm not sure how it will affect herblore (though I expect I know what one of the future bugs is going to be, because I know history has a tendency to repeat itself, which makes me happy because I am about to own a 99 skill in a day or so if it does). I forsee two bugs already going to happen that will make some people immensely rich while others have no idea how it happened. What fun! Edit: yay no more price gouging on wf vials
  14. Weird, it's showing up for me. Anyway, someone has beaten my time and done it in under 2 hours.
  15. What you need: At least 78 slayer and probably in the realm of 4 hours. The Armored Boot Challenge: While I was harvesting some herbs from the cave crawlers in the Rellekka slayer dungeon, I saw a couple of bronze boot drops and I thought to myself, "why would I ever want to pick these up?" Then I had an idea: I wonder how long it would take to start at the bronze boots killing each slayer monster in turn until it drops its specialized boots until you got the whole set. I bet I could do it in three hours. I was close, but I couldn't do it that quickly. I have a little program that I use for all sorts of timers, and I planted it on the runescape window so you can see how far I was along each time I got a boot drop. It was a lot of fun. I challenge someone to beat my time. rune mith and black were especially hard
  16. First to 30 slayer (to appear on hs solo) First to 30 farming First to 30 hunter First to 30 rc First to 30 cons im sure there's other notable firsts
  17. Of course it's possible to "own" at runescape. It's possible to have enough experience in doing all kinds of things, pking, staking, skilling, monster hunting that you can do anything with overwhelmingly more efficiency than another person competing with you.
  18. It won't be the first move that jagex makes that is pretty much a total economic/player loss for them. It also will not be the last. Wonder what the overarching motive for it, is, though. Seems a bit random to me.
