i believe the answer will be N 1+ (sigma) n n=0 simple as that... 1 plus every number up to the one your "at" theres a simpler way of working that out too i believe... i think 1+(N+1)(N)/2 will give you the answer at any given number of lines (where N is the number of lines)

I need the source of the information, thanks. The speed of light thing was on the wikipedia article about the theory of relativity a while ago... I've read a few articles about the possibility of the speed of light not being constant, but nowhere did it mention of the earths age. the speed of light depends what its going through, but apart from that i doubt the constant of the speed of light in a vacuum is changing.

And you eat that extra food when you could give it to some poor kid in a 3rd world country. People mostly hate America because of some of the American's ignorance, a good example is icingdeath with his "America FTW." I hope you're kidding, the US is by far the worlds largest donator of supplies to 3rd world countries. iirc america is the 2nd lowest aid-providing developed natioin by proportion of income. edit: http://www.globalissues.org/i/aid/netoda2005.png <- graph of the raw quantity of aid and graph of aid as a percentage of income. yep america is the largest donator in raw amount, but compared to many other countries, american aid is not generous atall given their ability to provide aid. http://www.globalissues.org/TradeRelated/Debt/USAid.asp (source of above graph) is that based on average, or median? average or median WHAT? oh and btw... median IS (an) average. no its not, learn your basic math. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Average average is a general term for measures of central tendancy. when you say average i expect you mean mean... which has come to be known as average. but it is, like median, a TYPE of average. i know my basic math... mean, median and mode and all that. answer my question anyway, then i can maybe answer your question.

I cant really say much about how you should go about it.. but it brings me to remember something vaguely similar from my school, after i left. my school was on the news after they banned kissing/hugging, which led 600 students (most of the school) to walk out of assembly. I have unfortunately no idea how that went. on a very current note for myself.. my university is planning on charging every student ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã200 each year for a bus service... that would be ok but: 1. there is already a bus service run by an actual bus company, which is better than what the university plans to provide. 2. the university plans to push out said already-in-place bus service. 3. this will be charged to EVERY student. those living on campus, those off campus, those with cars, everyone. I am certain that only say... medical students who live off campus, and have 9-5 lectures every day, will benefit from this "service". current plans for resisting this seem to involve boycotting the payment of accomodation fees until this bus service is atleast VOLUNTARY! anyway, sorry bout that, it just really annoys me. back on topic: safety in numbers, and letting them know that this is not just some silly thing, its something that students actually CARE about, rather than protest for the sake of protest. that is what is most likely to get you heard.

the Gran tourismo series are fantastic racing simulators.. my favs anyway :-) random game to play on such games.... one guy does the steering, another the accel/braking (with a steering wheel/pedals)

doesn't work here...maybe with transparent images... :-k anyhow, I used to play a game when I was a kid with a small soft ball the size of a...baseball I can imagine, only softer, softer than a softball aswell. the goalposts were the edges of a doorway in one goal, a chair and the wall in the other. you played it sitting on the floor either on your behind or on your knees. you scored by getting the ball past the opponent, like in for example soccer, or floorball. it was a very dangerous sport for any bystanding porcelain audience and paintings hanging on the wall, not paintings actually painted on the wall, they were safe ;) The game had to be abandoned because of a piano in the middle of the playing field. (I'll never forgive my parents for destroying my childhood just for my sister's pianolessons...:P) lol me and my cousin used to play football down our hall. that was similarly hazardous for bystanding inanimate objects.. though i think we managed to not really ever break anything.

another one... 3 player pool. if ya have a set of pool balls and snooker balls, use the snooker reds for the 3rd player :-) when someone fowls they miss their next go. its really annoying when you pot 5-6 of your own balls at once early on, then theres ~15 balls on the table to get in the way so your ALWAYS snookered trying to get your last ball. tag in the dark... always funny where people hide :-) gran tourismo, but where whoevers racing doesnt get to choose or see what car their going to drive, and the other people there choose a car and set it up as badly as possible. seeing someone try to handle a TVR speed 12 with huge toe-out, real-life tires and spongey suspension is quite funny. as is watching the ford ka (i think it was) bounce forwards and backwards for an entire lap because we seriously messed up the suspension.

onionball - it arised at an archery club social when we wanted to play rounders, but had no bat or ball of any description. so we sent someone down to the shop to get a ball.. they returned with an onion and some elastic bands. we cover the onion in bands, wrap it in a plastic bag, more elastic bands, another bag, more bands, another bag and a final layer of bands. then find a random wooden post for the bat. tadaa!!! onionball. it was good fun :-) especially when the onion eventually gave in and splatted everywhere. edit: another one - octopus welding. this came from a discussion that octopusses would be really good at table football. weld 2 of them together and they'd be unstoppable!

i've just been... it was great fun. we ended up having a game of everyone vs. the marshals. so about 20-25 who still had paintballs left, vs 4 marshals and 2 other guys. the marshals were defending a castle, and had to go to a "medic" to come back to life, but once the medic was dead they could not come back, while all the other players just went back to the start and ran in again lol. someone shouted charge and my friend ran in and dived through the door shooting them.. then his mask fell off lol, so after he had been shot a fair few times the game stopped :-)
