  1. that would be a good idea except that the abyss would make them kinda pointless =\ i seriously doubt that there are any better drops than the DT but i also agree that there will probably be something added in the future =]
  2. i am NOT i repeat NOT trying to insult you: i think this is a perfect example of the EXACT OPPOSITE of how i play. think of all the time* wasted travelling from the mining spot to the selling spot to the training spot. think of all the POTENTIAL cash* wasted over the months (as in the extra cash that he would have made per item if he would have saved up and sold in bulk). think of the time* wasted from the repeated transition of combat to mining equipment etc. all the "*" are numbers that i like to mess with. if i can get a tiny edge time-wise or gp-wise then i take it. shaving 12 seconds off of a path that i normally take is well worth the 5 minutes of investigation in the long run to me. another example is how my bank is organized. not only is everything in ascending order (guam seeds, then marrentil seeds, etc.) everything is put in groups so that complimentary equipment is always easily accesible side-by-side. the logs are in order of level followed by the tinderboxes, the knifes and the bow strings. i am organized and analretentive about time, gp, etc. on this game. doing so is fun for me and a challenge. now if only my wife could get me to be the same way with my dirty clothes
  3. personally i think the flag should return to the castle room after 30 seconds if the opposing team doesn't touch it in that time period. for example: if zam gets sara flag then gets smoked and sara recovers their own flag zam has 30 seconds to kill the sara that picked up the flag. if they dont then they lose the ground that the original zam covered. largest reason i think this is i believe it will "speed up" games and make them more fun. the fairness factor would just be a nice bonus. it is just horrible when sum1 with ice barrage has the flag and just freezes every1 after him/her. you cant really get much fly-by damage especially if the game doesnt have many players eh my 2 cents
  4. while i think that most will find that f2p has many, MANY more noobs (usually transients) i just wanted to show my respect to all of you hardcore f2p-ers who, for whatever reason, choose not to, or cant, go p2p. I think that it is admirable that there is a large group of ppl willing to put alot of effort in a game that is side-by-side to an easier version and just stick it out. i've looked around and seen some impressive total lvls, rich ppl, and, most importantly, alot of ppl with high values. I was f2p for awhile while i moved and let me tell ya it is SO much harder to train, raise cash, and not flame the "fr33 st00fz0rz!!1!!"-lvl-3 ppl following you around for hours, so i would just like to congratulate all of you that are acheiving your goals with the constant reminder of an easier version right in your face. Truly amazing :D (btw i am p2p for life because i cant do what you do lol. and NO i am not trying to ask for gifts, thank yous, or anything. in fact this is a 1 way message that i doubt i will look at once posted. gj again :) )
  5. spent the 1st week that i joined chopping and selling regular logs to the general store because those goblins were so stingy with the gp lol
  6. cooking 7k salmon sigh and 500 sharks yay
  7. i found out from another soldier. he was playing it at a computer "cafe" (inside joke) and i thought it was a nes mod lol. since it was free i gave it a try and 14 months l8r am a lvl 98 with a 1566 total go figure lol
  8. i completely disagree with this statement (sorry). Some people (me for one) truly enjoy breaking things down to their base numerical status. I find it enjoyable knowing the difference of xp an hour that a super set gives, etc. not to mention being able to prove certain things one way or the other through simple math. this game is all about the numbers to me whether it be minutes, xp, gp, or qp its all good. and you can easily be obsessed with MANY things without going anywhere near numbers. in fact to see the opposite of the spectrum take a waltz through the role-playing forums. the EXACT opposite of numbers but a lot are quite obsessed... i take back (most of) my 1st sentence though: obsessive behavior IS VERY unhealthy. it, like everything else in life, is about moderation  (just noticed im no longer a chicken feather yay  )
  9. i can totally agree with this viewpoint since thats the way that i played rs until i had completed all the quests. after that i focused on skilling and cash and found that honestly more enjoyable. plus i like numbers
  10. even though this topic is a question i think that it lends itself more to discussion than a straight-forward answer: how much is enough for it to be worth your time? for example the xp per hour that you get cooking/fletching is expected to be MUCH higher than say HP or (solo) rc. and the cash made per hour that you can make from mining, wcing, or rcing is expected to be MUCH higher than say (OBVIOUSLY) fm/prayer/agility or smithing (excluding c balls). my question is twofold: 1. what is the MINIMUM amount of xp/cash that is acceptable to you, personally, for each of your major skills (aka probably not fm) per hour? 2. what is the MAXIMUM amount of xp/cash that you can make for the same? also for those who don't focus on skills or cash from skills what would you say you make cash-wise merchanting or pking on AVERAGE, of course, an hour? EDIT: no offense to the 30 ppl who felt compelled to remind me this is a game but  : the aspect of this game that I, not necessarily anyone else, enjoy is the number aspect. therefore nobody else needs to remind me that this is a game.
  11. blue drags. bring a full load of trout or salmon and bury d bones only if i have food left to eat. craft hides and alch or sell sets 15k ea and ecto the bones this is a good way to use all those dang fish from raising fishing at shilo  also double rc (finally) cosmics and enchant air b staves. alch or sell 15k ea mine iron, make an sell iron knives 30-45 ea thats about it
  12. agility agility agility and any thieving that doesnt involve seeds lol (70 agility and 75 thieving)
  13. agreed lol and to the person who mentioned they "range" in rl with their left and are right-handed: i've found it quite common that ppl do a majority of tasks with their dominant hand but do a single or even a few tasks with the other. i had a friend once that was left-handed in everything except writing. he was as bad with his left as most are. and personally i do eveything right handed but brushing my teeth =\ i noticed this a long time ago when i 1st started thieving. if equip a bow but no arrows u cant accidently attack them. it got me started thinking that the bow hand was off but i 4got about it as soon as i noticed lol
  14. i would GLADLY, GLADLY pay double or more for every tradable item if it meant that all those lame cheaters would get perma banned from all or runescape :D
