  2. Locking this. No matter how you describe it, it appears you've violated a rule or two. The Jagex Rules of Conduct are strictly enforced on Tip.It forums. Please review Section 1.1 of the Tip.It Forum Rules for more details. - Ard
  3. Every decline includes a categorical and often distinct reason. If anyone responds asking for more specifics on how to improve their forum presence, we will discuss it further. - Ard
  4. Debug errors have been fixed. Search function still disabled to expedite the behind-the scenes part of the fix. - Ard
  5. Scam Alert - Tip.It Does Not Send Unsolicited Email It's been brought to our attention that there is a scam email floating around that appears to be sent from a Tip.it email account. The Tip.It Administration will never send you unsolicited emails or anything that requires download. Communication with users is handled via private message unless an inquiry is submitted using the website form. Please feel free to contact an Administrator to verify any questionable emails you might get from anything seemingly Tip.it related. Sincerely, Your Tip.It Administration Team

  8. Better late than never. We are saying the same thing. We plan to align the trainees with the forum they post to most. - Ard
  9. We recognize that some of the specialty forums need moderators who are most familiar with the content and frequent posters. We've customized groups for forums like Off Topic and The Gallery for that very reason. The Trainee positions will expand that concept by assigning moderators to categories/forums like Rants, Clans and Player Killing (along with related subforums) if potential users have applied. By asking for volunteers to moderate very specific forums they most use, we can fill in some of these gaps. One of the overall goals of the Moderator Applications is to get new moderators who WANT to moderate the forums they use the most and will be active. By asking for volunteers, we're taking the guesswork out of "do you want to and have the time to moderate" question that sometimes isn't answered until after a user is already doing the job. It's an addition to the "hiring process" (if you will) that we are hoping proves to be beneficial. We're not replacing the "being asked" method, we're simply adding a new method to the mix in order to fill in the gaps. - Ard
  10. Hang in there gang. We're carefully considering how to best place the applicants based on a variety of criteria. Please keep in mind that we started with almost 300 applications. That's a lot to consider. Thanks for your patience. - Ard
  11. I'm glad I stumbled on to IRC when I did and was able to track you down. Congratulations again!!! - Ard
  12. My turn to drop in my two-cents worth. Regarding Time-Zone Coverage I agree that we need to balance out the coverage of moderators for the variety of time zones. We are taking this into consideration with the moderator applications and are always on the lookout for potential active users who are in some of the least-covered zones. Regarding Perceived Staff Activity I will say from personal experience that after performing daily moderator duties I often don't have time to post casually. I will say that if a moderator is active with moderator duties, it probably takes away from their casual posting frequency. Regarding Crew Having Moderator Permissions Crew members are committed to the website. They have enough work to do and we need them focused on the website. The last thing we want to do is give them more work. As For Monitoring Moderator Activity It is a constant effort but please realize that we must respect that everyone has a life outside of these forums. Our staff members are doing their duties here voluntarily. I can appreciate the initial intention of this thread but bickering about what constitutes an "active moderator" really isn't constructive. - Ard
