  1. In all honesty, what would be the point in re-doing the quest anyway? I already watched a video that shows all the major details of the quest, and I did go to the maze myself on the main account, so I can make a good judgement on that. I don't even need to do the quest to test the maze. I appreciate the suggestion, but I don't think I even need to re-do it on another account. With "personal experience", well the only thing that I need to test myself is the maze since everything else is pretty straight-forward. Which again I can do on my main account.
  2. "Login limit exceeded: too many connections from your address." Well, so much for that plan. Drop trading is out of the question since someone else could pick up the item before my other account. Not like I need to preview the quest myself anyway, I am basing it off memory.
  3. Ok, the old tutorial island was unskippable, this isn't, thank goodness for that. I skipped the tutorial, now I can just do the game again. I do remember for the most part how I did the quests. Except I'm sure it will be a bit different now. But I'm sure I don't need to ask for help though, the guides will help me easily.
  4. Oh god, the tutorial island was bad enough, looks like it's been replaced by something worse. I doubt I'll reach Dragon Slayer before Sunday.
  5. Alright, until I understand how the game works, which I obviously don't, I'm not posting here again. I'm sorry if I wasted time.
  6. Alright, I'll just then give my new account full steel armor (including kiteshield) a steel longsword, 30K coins, 15 lobsters, and then I believe I'm set to go. On an unrelated question, what should I do with members quests I have done that I wanna review in the future? I could look up the video guides and have them on mute, I always do that, but that's not the same as personal experience.
  7. Actually I'm pretty sure it is. Or at least it was many years ago, have they changed it?
  8. I do like the idea, but I'm reviewing the quest on Sunday, do you think I could accomplish reaching that part of the game before then? Probably, yes, just knock off all the other F2P quests, level up combat a bit, and you're all set. But what's the easiest way to make money on F2P? I can't pickpocket, so that's out of the question. I never use F2P because of the restrictions, but I am making an exception this time, thanks for the help wkw. But sadly it won't work when reviewing a members quest I have already done, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

  10. Not a biggie, I'm gonna focus most of the review to talk about the quest how I remember it. Even though I did it 11 years ago I'm sure I can remember if I try hard enough. There is really no more information I need, the rest of the things I wondered about are things I easily found out on my own. So I'm marking this thread as "answered". Reviewing quests with fantastic stories is a lot of fun.
  11. To be honest, I do like the bumping idea better. That way I wouldn't have to cut from the previous post and paste it to the new one, which I unfortunately have to do if I have something to add elsewhere. I support that 100%, go for it. EDIT: But wait a minute, I don't get it. I have asked for some of the awful threads I made to be removed, and someone did remove them. Doesn't that contradict your so-called policy?
  12. There are many message boards who have the option of deletion and they're all doing fine, so your argument doesn't work.
  13. Oh and I found out there is one new thing that wasn't there when I originally did the quest in 2004, and that's a cutscene. I have a few questions about it. Is it good/worth watching? Does it tell me anything I didn't already know by reading the dialog which already existed within the game?
  14. I just hope it's nowhere near as frustrating as the impossible puzzle in Mournings Ends Part II. And yes I'm calling it impossible, because there is no way anybody would have known the right path without extreme luck.
  15. Here is another question, how hard is the maze in this quest? Thankfully I did reclaim the maze key, and I went there for research purposes, and I have to be honest, I find it pretty hard, I got lost pretty easily. But I'm not even doing the quest, so I don't know. I need help from someone who did the quest if the maze is challenging. I can't tell you since I'm almost sure I used a guide back in 2004.
  16. Not exactly, I don't bump a thread because I didn't get the reply I wanted, I do it when I have something to add like further questions in Help & Advice, or something more to talk about in the Questionaire forum.
  17. I'm gonna have to be honest, I am tired of having to double post a few hours later after one post. But I have no choice, if I edit the previous post, no one will notice it since the thread is not near the top anymore. I think we should have the ability to delete our posts. Plenty of message boards have that feature. Some of you might make the argument that some might abuse it, but that's also the case with editing a post, and this message board also has that feature. I really think this would solve more problems that it'd make. If we had that ability I wouldn't have to double post and can just copy my previous post and paste it to the new one.
  18. Thanks for the help, both of you. I'm not going to use the "answered" tag just yet because there is a possibility I could get more answers.
  19. Hello, this weekend I'll make my next quest review, it's on Dragon Slayer, which is one of my favorite quests of the game. Therefore it's worth talking about. Anyway, there are some questions I need answers to now so I can make a good review. Would rune nails work? Do planks above the normal ones work? Can you list the major difference between how the quest is now and when I did it? I believe I did it in either 2004 or 2005. Most likely 2004 as I wasn't member yet at the time and I became one in 2005. Can you provide me any useful information about the quest that's not provided on the RSWiki page? And yeah, those questions are about it. I will for the most part talk about how the quest was back when I originally did it, since the review will be for the most part be my own personal experience.
  20. Thank you, I will keep these up. As of now I do make these videos about once a month, but as time goes in I can almost guarantee it will become much more frequent.
  21. I understand your point, but I still personally think quests are good reviewing material, a lot of them have a good story worth talking about. And for the record they ARE optional. Just because a lot of people feel like they have to keep their quest capes doesn't make it any less optional. They choose to wanting to keep the quest cape. The Quest Cape is not an absolute requirement to enjoy the game. I'm not denying that you could be right that most people don't even care about quests, you most likely are. But the reason I love doing them and talking about them is because many have a great story and memorable characters. So yeah.
  22. Oh I'm not worried, I'm not worried at all. I'm just wondering if my concept is original. And yes, I do try to make my videos as good as possible, that's why I plan my videos weeks ahead of time.
  23. If this is the wrong place to ask, I apologize, but honestly I don't know where else to ask. Since I really am not asking for help, I think this place is more fitting. Anyway, I make quest reviews, that's all you need to know regarding them. I don't expect you to check them out or anything like that that's why there is no link in this thread. Anyway, I am subscribed to several RS-related channels on YouTube, and not many of them make quest reviews, several make quest guides, sure, but they aren't offering their opinion they only say how to do a quest, and these are useful for research purposes. So yeah my question is, are these kinds of videos original concept? Since these are getting positive feedback I got nothing to worry about. But yeah.
  24. I don't really blame you for that. Most of the times I made posts without even knowing what I was talking about. But that wasn't the case with this thread though since unlike previously I actually thought if it was a good idea to make it or not. And I'm glad. I'm also taking into consideration if I'd use what I get or not. I don't sell nature runes or law runes since I plan on using them. Same goes for the royal dragonhides, rune bars and the antifire potions. If I don't sell the items I'd use, they really are worth less than regular hard clues. Jagex won't incorporate your own personal values into the game though. Well, there is a reason this is in the rants forum and not the suggestions forum. I'm not expecting Jagex to change anything I'm just stating my viewpoint. I meant that the term "worth" for jagex is not something that they decide by one persons values ;) You are still implying that I am expecting Jagex to change anything based on what I do, which again is far from the case. What can I say so you get it that I don't care if they change it or not? I have no idea how to make it any clearer. I never implied that. Someone before me (in the series of quotes) said that the value of things you get from elites is more than from non-elites. You said that you don't sell those kinds of stuff so elites are not worth more than non-elites. I tried to imply that jagex didn't base the worth of those clues on one persons own terms of worth. That is all I said, not that you think that they should change stuff :P Fair enough.
