  1. This. Only very basic scripts weren't able to solve randoms. I think the reason you didn't see bots here or there, like red dragons, wasn't thanks to a random event - it's whether or not something is worth it to farm, whether or not the scripter has the know-how to write a bot for that method, how the scripter gets the bot from point-A to point-B, whether or not the time spent travelling + supplies is worth it, what type of botting methods are available, etc. There's a lot more methods then just injection, reflection, and color springing up that prove to be quite reliable for scripters. This allows them to write more advanced bots for more advanced farming methods. As Arceus said, they do have BotWatch, but that seems to be leaps behind the scripters... You know what that's a very good, solid and informative explanation. Thanks for your time.
  2. Also, I honestly find it boring that everybody I see while fighting monsters are wearing Bandos, a. k. a. the same thing. At least some people use overrides. But most don't, so I see the same guy on different accounts a lot, which is boring to me. Don't try to justify that by calling anything in a lower tier "irrelevant", attitude like that is what's killing creativity.
  3. So discussing abortion with people in a religous group means you shouldn't discuss it with those outside the group because you already had a discussion with a group? I'm trying to be nice here but it's ignorant language to assume talking with different groups is redundant. Alot more people on the official forums are newer players and see things in the game differently. I have a maxed account and assumed I knew a lot until I started an Ironman account and realized how mu check my knowledge of the lower levels was lacking. So to say it is redundant is untrue. I do see what you mean. But yeah I love this message board. The only other place I go to to talk about RuneScape is of course YouTube since I love watching videos.
  4. Actually it IS redundant because even though there are different people there, you are still discussing the exact same subject with different people. And really, what's the point? This message board already has plenty of different viewpoints. I don't need to go elsewhere to get that.
  5. This message board has tons of them. There is a reason I only stick to one message board of each subject. (I only use one Pokémon message board, one RS message board, etc.) Because asking the same question or discussing the same subject on different message boards is redundant.
  6. To be honest, it seemed more to me like you were just saying people shouldn't criticize me. This is a public message board, people are allowed to do that. If that wasn't the case I apologize I misread your post. Thank you for agreeing with this. EDIT: Also, I think taking a long break is good for me. When 3 months are up, I will actually think things through. I'm not doing that right now.
  7. Because I'm not trying to contact Jagex directly, I'm asking experienced players.
  8. I still think the only reason dragon weapons became quote-on-quote "irrelevant" is because more players care about getting the best weapons ever than how they actually look. I understand that now since being able to kill faster is after all important. If dragon armor was better statswise than bandos, I can 100% guarantee no one would bother with bandos. That is the exact reason it is irrelevant - the game is all about progressing to do better by having better gear and dragon got out-classed. The same thing has happened many times to many things. In the early days Black Armour was the rare peak of awesome stats, then they released mith addy and rune. Then Rune was the sign of a real pro until the first iotas of dragon appeared. Then one days the barrows appeared and dragon was slung on the heap of yesterdays news. Then barrows got pummelled as Bandos and the gwd armours arrived. Then those sets came to crash and burn as nex sets arrived. Then with the arrival of ports armour and the t90 power armours nex sets have taken a hit. And someday when t95 or t99 armours arrive ports etc will become fodder of the forgotten. It's not exactly rocket science or some hidden secret - the best gear in-game rules the roost, the lesser gears slide into worthlessness as they become progressively further away from being the best. I do see what you mean, but I don't wanna stop liking dragon equipment since most of the higher-tier items look beyond ugly. I mean ew. I'm glad overrides exist, that way I don't have to get rid of my dragon armor. I would gladly show that I have a better armor, if it wasn't for the fact that dragon equipment (in my opinion at least) is the coolest looking equipment in the game.

  10. I'm sorry I don't agree, at all. I'm not asking for help with anything, nor do I need advice. This thread is mostly about discussions. And threads that are mostly discussions, and not about wanting help don't belong in "Help & Advice". I really have no idea what implied I needed help with something. That's far from the case. You are asking for more information regarding how Jagex deal with macroers, to help you understand what Jagex does. If you want seriously think this is not your intention or what you want, feel free to PM me or my colleagues and we will discuss about it. Yeah, that makes sense. Keep this thread in help and advice, you did give a good reason for the thread to belong here.

  12. I did at one point make a thread about how I miss random events. Do I stick to everything I said in that thread? For the most part, no. I don't miss the majority of random events and am glad they're gone. The characters who host the random events might be interesting, which I still think. But the events themselves aren't worth doing. They are extremely easy, to the point that it's boring. When I get the same random events over and over again at least three times a day, it's not fun anymore. It might have been fun at first, but yeah I can see exactly why people got bored of them and hated them. The only event worth doing was the maze, but that was only because that was the only event that actually gave awards that are worth more than a few coins like the majority of them. Anyway, to the main subject of this thread. How does Jagex deal with macroers now that random events are gone? The main purpose of these random events in the first place was to discourage macroing. And I think macroing has actually got worse since the removal of random events. While random events were still there, I almost never saw bots fighting red dragons. I still had to deal with annoying wild dogs, but thank goodness they aren't aggressive anymore. Nowadays all I see are macroers. How do I know this? Because they all are wearing the exact same outfit, there is no way these can be legitimate players. I do applaud Jagex for getting rid of events that not many people were fond of, I really do. But at the same time, doing that also made macroing worse. So how does Jagex deal with macroers now? I mean if you report 100, there are at least 1,000 more in their place. And for the record I never macro, never have and never will. Even if it was allowed, I never use cheat codes in an online game, since I know it will just be unfair to players who like to play legitimately.
  13. I did make a thread about dragon warhammer at one point, and most people said that they wouldn't care since dragon weapons have become irrelevant. Which even to this day I don't agree with. When it comes to something like preference, there is no such thing as irrelevant. Anyway, two years later, a dragon warhammer was finally released, which requires a quest which requires very high smithing level. Not a big deal, I only collected it to collect it. Outside a dragon battleaxe (which is now only used as cosmetic override) dragon hatchet and dragon pickaxe (both which are now in my toolbelt) I never use dragon weapons anymore. I only collect them for the sake of collecting. Anyway, to me dragon weapons are the most cool looking weapons in the game. Now the only melee weapon from the basic smithing tables that doesn't have a dragon version yet is shortsword. But if it was made would anyone honestly care? I doubt it, I don't even think I, a guy who's a big fan of dragon weapons, would even remotely care about that. The reason for that is because nobody uses shortswords. Out of all the weapons, shortswords are the ones least people care about. Even back in the day long before weapons better than dragon existed, nobody cared for shortswords. I don't even think f2p users would ever consider even using a rune shortsword. And now that all the weapons of the same type have become the same damn weapon because of the evolution of combat update, there is even less of a reason to care. So yeah. I will buy one if it was released to have my melee dragon collection complete. But outside that I don't think anybody would honestly care. So if it was made, (which I doubt since it's the least popular weapon) it shouldn't have a difficult quest requirement.
  14. No that's not the problem, I'm not "trying too hard" to find something to suggest or rant about. The bigger problem is the fact that when something pops to my mind I make a thread about it without even thinking if it's a good idea or not. Well, in my YouTube videos I plan them weeks ahead of time, therefore most of the times I know beforehand if a video I'm about to make is a bad idea or not. I should think a bit about my suggestions/rants before posting. Which I won't be doing until September because like I said, I'm not making any more threads for 3 months. Also, so far no one has told me if the suggestions I make now are any better than the ones I made in 2005. And no I don't expect you to read the long as hell threads I made back then, but the responses to them did tell the main issues with them. I still wanna know if the suggestions I made in the past 3 years are any better than the ones I made in 2005. And yeah, Kimberly, I now realize how awful this suggestion is, that's exactly the reason I'm not making any more threads in rants/suggestions for at least 3 months now.
  15. Meh, it's fine you don't have to tell me if I have improved or not. But regardless all my suggestions are bad no matter what. Not a single one are suggestions people actually agree with. (except maybe making pickpocket the first option.) So you know what, I will not make any more threads in the suggestions forum for at least three months. And this also goes to the rants forum since my rants are just as bad. I'm sorry for all the awful suggestions, at least I now realize that they're crap unlike in 2005 when I ignored any legitimate problems people had, so there's that. So yeah, farewell. I might keep replying to threads in both forums, but I won't be making one, I promise.
  16. I just looked back at the threads I made in 2005, and they were very bad. In fact I was laughing at them because of how bad they are. But I sadly don't think I have improved much since then. Yeah, this idea is horrible. Higher level combat spells and higher level alchemy spells are different, so it's not hypocritical. It's already pretty hard to buy a ton of sharks in the grand exchange. This spell will only make it harder. Most people cheat by using guides anyway, (and yeah it is cheating since they aren't legitimately finishing the quests, the only exception to this is if they only use guide as a last resort) so what the hell would be stopping them? The only difference is now I acknowledge quickly when I screwed up, back in 2005 I got offended by when people pointed out how dumb my ideas were. To any of you who want to look at the suggestions I made back in 2005, here is the link: http://forum.tip.it/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=search&andor_type=and&sid=0deaf29bb3a1b558c1772f9fae435e88&search_author=blaze+the+movie+fan&search_date_start=January%201,%202005%208:40%20PM&search_date_end=December%2031,%202005%208:40%20PM&search_app_filters[forums][sortKey]=date&search_content=both&search_app_filters[forums][forums][0]=23&search_app_filters[forums][noPreview]=1&search_app_filters[forums][pCount]=&search_app_filters[forums][pViews]=&search_app_filters[forums][sortKey]=date&search_app_filters[forums][sortDir]=0&search_term=&search_app=forums&st=25 And by all means please do. I really would like to know if my suggestions have improved at all since then, or if I'm still the same moron now as I was back then.
  17. It doesn't matter what they call it. A fraction of a game is by definition a demo. And that's exactly what F2P is.
  18. Well, alright. If you enjoy playing F2P, good for you. I would never find it fun, but if you do, there's nothing wrong with that. But keep in mind that it's still a demo though. F2P is the demo version of RuneScape, while members is the full version. Granted, it's a bit bigger than most demos but it's a demo nevertheless.
  19. I do think everyone understands my point but just don't agree, which is fine. re-read what I said, I am not a hypocrite, I am being realistic. This is how real life and in-game economics work. If you create more money, the money will be worth less, thus getting you back the square one. The only thing you will be getting from making more money is that your stack of coins will be worth less (so coin hoarders will have less of the total amount of money). Giving people a higher alch spell will only give a benefit for maybe a month, after that it gives the same effect as the old high alchemy spell had. I am not denying that you have good counter-arguments against my suggestion. But it's still hypocritical to be ok with some types of improved magic spells and being against others.
  20. No, I'm not suggesting THAT high, that'd be going overboard. I'm suggesting something like rune platebody being like 47K coins with that new spell.
  21. You're all a bunch of hypocrites, you know that? You are not ok with an improved version of high level alchemy, yet when surge spells and higher level jewellery spells were released you didn't complain. That's hypocrisy at its finest.
  22. Even the jobs that don't pay that well pays at least 10. So yeah, it's totally their fault as they're terrible with money.
  23. No it wouldn't, how can it bypass your radar that I suggested that a difficult quest would be required for that spell?
  24. I love getting money off of high alchemy. But I wanna get even more money, so make a spell that gives me more money than the high alchemy spell. And no, not anyone can use it. The only way to use it is to finish a quest that's very difficult and has a ton of requirements. I mean we already got upgrades spells of wave spells and jewellery enchanting spells, why not go a step further?
  25. Well, in that case I should have stuck to my original decision on not reading the first post.
