Should D.C. Vote?
though that sounds good on paper, no one in d.c. would agree to become part of maryland. The biggest problem in d.c. is that most of it is government land and therefore tax-exempt. this poses a problem to the local government because it lacks tax income from much of the city. d.c. has tried to get federal funding to make up for areasthat cannot be taxed, but has been refused by the government every time.

Should D.C. Vote?
D.C. is not a part of maryland. it is an independant congresional district. In the USA, states are broken up into a total of 435 districts shaped by population. Each district gets one congressman who is voted in every two years, but often stay in for years and years. D.C. is an independant district, as are the U.S. Virgin Islands. it is not part of maryland, nor is it part of Virginia And BTW, wikipedia has taken many steps recently to ensure its credibility... it is pretty accurate now

Should D.C. Vote?
Yesterday the United Nations released a 12 page document about the humans rights violations of the USA. One of which being the fact that the District of Columbia cannot vote in congress. Or... as the U.N. put it... For as long as there has been an america, the district of columbia has not been allowed to vote in the congress. Do you think that the district should get a vote in the House of Congress?

America - benign or a menance?
Destabilized by killing 40,000+ civilians, destroying their infrastructure, driving them into a civil war and so on? Even tho Iraq wasn't a good place while Saddam was in lead, I can tell you that it would have been better for normal iraqians that you had stayed away from their lands. You can always talk about genocides, plans of building nuclear weapons and bringing democracy, but do you even believe in them by yourself? If you ask me, you've caused enough death there, you got nuclear weapons (and so does your comrade Israel) and how can you talk about bringing democracy to Iraq while you support Saudi Arabia? No war is started because of bringing democracy/whatever to some place. You aren't there to help innocent iraqians. Just like every war, you are there to gain something to your own use. First of all Iraq has oil and you need that stuff probably more than any other country in the whole world. 2nd, it's a good satellite country (or a proxy country, same meaning) which has boarders with other oil countries. Btw it's funny how UN can't even get a statement on the strike where Israel had hit a UN base. If you want to get an explanation why hasn't there been anything, think of these 2 words: USA&veto. what on gilenor are you talking about? i was saying that the iraq war was a bad idea that shattered the balance of power in the middle east. i was not in any way defending the actions of america. I was never for the war with iraq. Yes they had WMD's at one time (ones that could not be used on any western nation), but they were dismantled after Cobra I. I agree with you 100% that Cobra II was only begun to fill the pockets of american big buisness. After watching this scenario unfold for the past 5 years, it appears that america is trying to dismember the middle east. The only x-factor is that i cannot find any way at all that anyone in america would profit at all from this chaos. if i could, then maybe my theory would have some validity.

Scientology - Are You Kidding Me???
though i do not agree with the teachings of scientology, it is no more ridiculous than the stories of our religions. Judaism believes that a man talked to a burning bush and parted a whole ocean by waving a stick. Christianity believes that a man walked on water and made bread and fish appear out of nowhere. I had no problem with scientology, however that is until Issac Hayes (Chef from South Park) and other prominent scientologists took a crusade to make sure no one ever made a joke about scientology. Tom Cruise even went so far as to try to get South Park taken off the air for their episode titled "Trapped in the Closet", which was banned from the airways for several months because of him blackmailing Viacom (the company that owns Comedy Central). Therefore, i am on a boycott. I will not watch any movies staring Tom Cruise.

Who knows the difference between Liberals and Conservatives?
A conservative is one who prefers older teachings and ideals and does not want change. However, oddly enough the conservatives have caused the most fundamental change in government policy we have seen in a century. A liberal is one who is open to trying new things out, or in government terms, one who is willing to make frequent changes to government law.

America - benign or a menance?
not only had we destabalized iraq, but by removing iraq from the scene we have destabalized the entire middle east. the current conflict in israel has been linked by many back to iran, who was incapable of doing anything because of the balance of power it shared with iraq.

America - benign or a menance?
To support caligula's point, the president said that 30,000 civilians had died in the iraqi conflict in a press conference.

America - benign or a menance?
My point is clear and simple... America has had such prosperity in the past 50 years that we have alienated ourselves from the rest of the worlds problems and even our own problems. we have locked ourselves away in our climate controlled houses and cars while being forced fed opinion by the t.v. and internet. The recent rise in technology allows one person to do the thinking for an entire reigon leading to a dangerous shift in our ballance of power. Though america was built on a citizen favoring democracy, the central government is slowly snatching our power from under our noses. to this i blame the bipartisanship that rules our congress. the democrats and republicans are too busy fighting with eachother to pay attention to their work while bills like the U.S. Patriot Act sneak through completely undetected and uncontested, Bills that sap the life from our now fragile democracy.

And this embryo is asking, What are you going to kill me? -Sam Brownback discussing why stem-cell research is wrong The internet is not something that you just dump something on. Its not a big truck. Its a series of tubes... And if you don't understand that those tubes can be filled when you put your message in it, it gets in line, it's gonna be delayed by anyone who puts into that tube enormous amounts of material, enormous amounts of material... Ten movies streaming across that internet, and what happens to your own personal internet? I just the other day got internet was sent by my staff at 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday, I got it yesterday. America - benign or a menance?
Quite frankly, i love america. I believe america is the greatest nation in the world. However, i also believe that america has begun a spiral into a corrupt cestpool of... corruptness? Ever since WWII america has been uncontested by the rest of the world. no sane nation would attack us for fear of our retaliation. This power has gone to our heads, making us cocky, pompus, and quite ignorant. I live right across the river from washington D.C.. When the planes hit the pentagon i felt the crash. My dad is friends with the aides of many politicians. We have become completely unbalanced. our leaders have gone insane... just look at cheney... The man looks like he's about to bite somebody's head off... or shoot them in the face :P But in all seriousness, it is not the republicans i disagree with, nor the democrats, both are good parties when they balance eachother. Both have great ideas on how to run the country, but do not know everything. C-SPAN has become unbearable, it is now no more than the two parties screaming at eachother about what idiots they are. for america to return to the great nation i know it can be everyone has to start cooperating again and listen to other peoples ideas... otherwise i don't see us as having much of a future.

Skill guide: Runecrafting
When you go into the abyss, the 'Passage', or entrance that requires no skill, will be EXACTLY 180 degrees around the center from your entrance point. I have verified this to be accurate, and have tested my theory hundreds of times. [pokemama edit: needs verification]

Scary Movie 4 - April 14
this movie was okay. it had its moments, but was not nearly as good as the others (especially 3). I especially like the parts where 1. Charlie sheen tries to kill himself with sleeping pills, takes viagra instead by accident 2. Classroom scene with Leslie Nielsen as the president 3. Oprah scene making fun of Mr. Scientology himself and his insane couch-jumping 4. The villiage scene with the dying father "this man has suffered a heart attack... provoked by this knife"

for the past few months my computer has been telling me every hour on the hour that a program called sgtray.(executable file) has malfunctioned and must be shut down. So my question is, what is sgtray.(executable file) and what is it supposed to do? and how can i make it stop doing this? its not doing any harm, but its really annoying NOTE - before you ask, yes i do weekly virus scans and update the virus software (McAffe) whenever a patch is available and i do windows updates whenever a new one is available

discovery versus jesus
THIS POST IS JUST MY OPINION --- I AM NOT TRYING TO OFFEND ANYONE WITH FAITH OR RELIGIOUS BELIEF I personally am an athiest. I was raised jewish, and i accept the teachings of the torah, i just do not believe that there is a god. In my opinion, organized religion was started at a highly turbulent time in our worlds history as an attempt to teach good morals. societies were just beginning to form, and people were not neccesarily the kindest. Also, great confusion rained due to people beginning to question things like "where did we come from", or the debate "what happens when we die". religion was powerfull because it gave people the answers. People were comforted to know they had a savior looking over them or a holy diety protecting them. However, we have entered a very interesting time. Science is beggining to be able to answer the questions that could not be answered some thousands of years ago. because of this, our religious leaders are calling for science to be ignored and frowned upon. You cannot answer every question in life with "god did it". if you did, then society would not be able to advance in any way, shape or form. you cannot tell science to leave things alone.
