RuneScape Olympics 2007
Dragonmaker9 replied to Dragonmaker9's topic in Tip.Iters Events, Groups, and Teams
Due to my in sufficent bumping, the thread on the RS boards went off page 50, so the QFC has changed. -
I haven't seen a member called "Sh33pdog" for quite a while, he also has the username "Wolfsheep" but I haven't seen that one online in ages either.

The First Ever Runescape Olympics!
Dragonmaker9 replied to yak34's topic in Tip.Iters Events, Groups, and Teams
The first one was in 2002... -
All times posted in this thread will be in GMT The RuneScape Olympics (RSO) 2007 are the third annual (and possibly last) RSO I'm holding. The last two years have been quite successful, but I had the feeling my events weren't polished enough. Each RSO has focused on allowing players to raise all levels in a fun and enjoyable way, with prizes! No levels are really required, as this is meant to be an event enjoyable for all players, however I recommend players to have level 40 or above in most skills, of course higher levels will be an advantage. As for the rules, you must register your team here, or on the RuneScape offical board before I can add your team to the bottom of this post. A team can have anywhere between one to five members. However the larger the team, the less of a prize you will get (as the prize will be split more). I have made teamwork one of the key aspects of the RSO this year. When regestiering your team, please use the following format: Team Name: Example Team Members: -Example 1 -Example 2 -Etc Remember you can be the only member in your team, you need not get a full five members! Unfortunately, to stop people cheating, I will post each event (with a total of 15) a day before the event, you will get points for each event, your team will not have to attend each event to win, you may be able to come better prepared for another event by missing one, gaining more points overall! Prizes 1st Place: 300K, and other, not confirmed prizes. 2nd Place: 50K, and other, not confirmed prizes. 3rd Place: 30 Coal, a ring of dueling, and a ring of forging. The first event will be on the 2nd August, with two events each day from them, If you want me to PM you on the 1st of August with a reminder to check the tread each day from then, please put that in your post. By signing up here, I will be able to posts maps, tips, and much more to help describe the events, which I will not be able to do on the RuneScape Forums. Team List: Deadbeats: mon467 snake4531 krajok Jordzta: Jordf 06 the barron knights: Shawrie777 RSN: Dragonmaker9 Contact info: You can post here, in the topic on the official boards or you can email me at [email protected], make sure the topic is something along the lines of "RSO 2007" though, or I will not reply. Official Board Quick Find Code: 42-43-469-48455757. Sorry for the mess of this post, I think that's all the info I need to post for now, if I think of more, I'll edit it into this post, if you need more information, contact me!

In response to the second letter. I actually think it degrades typing, I started writing "u" in letters and forum posts (I don't anymore, I stopped playing RuneScape for a month and joined seven forums, to improve my spelling). However, RuneScape has helped me understand many things. For example, I never knew Bronze was made from copper and tin, nor how to take fingerprints. When both those questions have come up in science exams, RuneScape has helped more than the revision books. Sure I got most of the info from the revisipn books, but edutainment is better than any other form revision, as we remeber what we find fun more than anything else. Of course, I play RuneScape for fun too, but even when it helps me for small things (like mentioned above), RuneScape is educational. Wether you learn how to spell "Wise" from speaking to the Wise old Man", to learning what the icon for a feather is on RuneScape to learning that copper and tin make bronze. All these things are educational, some more helpful than others.

??~~??Most Annoying P2P Quest??~~??
Dragonmaker9 replied to Cabbage_Boii's topic in General Discussion
Sheep Herder was annoying for quite a while. Then I tried it three months later and did it easily. Underground pass was too long, but I don't think any are "annoying". -
I reckon Lumbridge and Draynor will be next. Easy tasks could include talking to the skill tutors or making flour. Medium tasks could include going to the Cave Goblins or playing Tears of Guthix, or enter Zaniris. Hard tasks will probably be something like....uh...kill the evil chicken?

Tip.It Times Presents: Robot Wars, aka Death of the Robots
Dragonmaker9 replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
Great article this week. I was getting sick of some of the bots in the fishing guild and at the Yews in edgeville. However im happy now. I was also suprised Jagex banned member's accounts. The did you know really helped! I now use it as a list of notes of my current personal tasks (e.g. pick up 200 flax and string my unstrung bows (so 200flax as the ignore name) or pick get a few construction levels to mount my big swordfish (con_msword)). So the best article and most useful so far. Thanks loads! -
What are the chances, and best way to catch large fish.
Dragonmaker9 replied to Dragonmaker9's topic in Help and Advice
I just got one! Now onto the hands! I just need 3 more levels to build it...darn. I suppose I better ask, what's the best way to level up contruction at level 48, (or 53 with tea and saw). -
What are the chances, and best way to catch large fish.
Dragonmaker9 replied to Dragonmaker9's topic in Help and Advice
Well when training fishing, I either go fly fishing or catch lobsters, but since contruct came out, I've caught about 7K swordfish, and not a single one was big. I just want to fill up my skill hall, :D -
Fishing was my highest skill (now it is only one of my highest), when construction came out, but I have never been able to catch a large fish to mount in my skill hall, does anyone have any tips on catching them, or what the chances are? Is it possible to have more than one large fish at once? Similarly, does anyone know about the same with slayer heads (or hands). Thanks in advance!

I can't really say how much I cut in an hour, as I'm always on youtube at the same time and my connect times out. I cut at edgeville, if more than 3 people (including me) are there, I switch worlds. Quick enough for me.

Tip.It Times Presents: A Random RuneScape Christmas
Dragonmaker9 replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
That was worth a read, there should be more of these! A very well done indeed =D> -
I hope the hunting skill isn't like slayer, like getting assigned what to hunt or whatever, I've got my slayer up purely on Tears of Guthix. I reckon hunting will open up more ranged skill uses though, just like agility added to it a little while ago.

Dragonmaker9 replied to eye_merchant's topic in General Discussion
My friend lets me try his stuff all the time, he lends me his full dragon/barrows stuff if I'm doing a particulary hard quest. -
As you can see I joined tip.it forums quite a while ago, but havent really posted much, so I'm going to try with this topic. I did it mainly becuase all my friends became members. Now I play members for the quests.

Tip.It Times Presents: Cheating - One Player's Story
Dragonmaker9 replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
I've never cheated, and proud of it. -
The only things that truly cost money in construction is making new rooms and getting your first house....and the seeds. The rest is free if you're willing to put the time in.

Tip.It Times Presents: Pure Essence, Pure Disaster?
Dragonmaker9 replied to oddfaery2's topic in General Discussion
As a member soon to be a free player, I find this annoying. I got most of my essence from free players, many of whom are my friends. Jagex should just add a new free players quest, requireing level 45+ combat and level 30+ mining that would allow free players and members to mine pure essence, it could be a really simple quest, member taking as much time as tears of guthix, but it would still stop the cheating and help free players continue making their money. If jagex did this, then they could make it so only pure essence could make mutiple runes per essence. I think this is a good idea, what do you think. -

I completely agree with everything The Editor has said, Jagex has to read this!
