Yeah, Black Mages are an amazing band. Recording some covers wouldn't be too hard, but playing em live.. not so sure about. If you attempt it tho, record so we can all hear.

It came out today here and it's a major disappointment. I woulda much preferred a new Blink 182 CD, I supose everyone would, but meh. Haha.

I guess in a way they are, but it's just hard to think about considering how much they suck. That's cos most pop-punk sucks, and they're all influenced by Green Day.. thus making any pop-punk band of modern times suck. It's all been done before.

I'm fond of both genres, but i'd have to say you are waaaaaay off there. Compare a ska guitarist with someone like Dimebag, Zakk Wylde, Kirk Hammet. Those aren't even the best guitarists in the genre and they piss all over any ska guitarist out there. Same can be said for bassists, any metal bassist will be playing at 4 times the speed and technicality of a ska guy. Agreed, ska is just powerchords with brass instruments.

Maybe you don't like to admit it cos you hate the band or they've 'sold out' nowdays but they define(d) pop-punk. If you're gonna disagree, at least hold a decent arguement on it..

I don't see how they chose to become mainstream. Before they were even heard of they emailed the bassist of fallout boy their songs, now if that's not attempting to become famous I dunno what is. By popular demand? After they appeared on MTV, they apologized to their fans.. why would they if they supposedly wanted em to become mainstream? And anyway who wouldn't want to make music for a living, if you're liked enough to be mainstream then you will.. you can't choose.
