  2. Ok...the COINCIDENCES OF ALL COINCIDENCES...back when i was in my f2p days...my friend had to pay me back some money i lent him so i was fishing at karamja when i noticed that there was another player with the exact same name as me, but without a space! (my rs name is Un4given One...his Un4givenone). My friend trades him, thinking it was me the whole time , and gives him my money (as 200k is alot of money to a starter). I freak out and told him that he traded the wrong person! I talk to the dude with the almost exact name as me and thankfully he was kind enough to give me the money back. We became good friends and for some reason he never logged on again. ='( Thats my story...
  3. I think it depends on the person. If you're a defensive type person who doesn't want to take in much damage, then you're for the obby shield. If you're an offensive type of person and don't mind taking in a little more hits, then you would want the defender to dish out more hits. I personally enjoy the defender, for its att bonus (and str lol, but obby shield has same str bonus). Rune defender is also good for pc, as you respawn when you die and armour isn't really neccesary. Thats just my 2 cents
  4. what goes around...comes around. you steal arrows you get your arrows stolen (unless you kill fast enough  )
  5. I've been debating about this topic ever since i created my str pure a few months ago. I've started with my lvl 1 def pure thinking that I'll stick to training att and str without ever training def. Now I'm starting to have second thoughts. After using almost 1m worth of lobbies I've been thinking of raising his defence to a rune pure. Now I've seen rune pures in action while fighting them on my main. Most of them were 90+ with lvl 40 def and high str and att hitting straight 15+'s, making most of their opponents tele away and killing some of them with killer KO's(20+). I thought wow I should make my pure that way. But later I thought it might be bad in the long run (gaining permanent 40 def+and increase in combat lvl). But i also thought of the benefits, less use of food for training, more protection when pking besides the full iron or monk's that most str pures wear, and others i can think of atm. I'm sure a lot of you are more experienced with these pures than the simple "just raise your str higher than everything else". So please leave some advice that will help me and others who are questioning whether they should become rune str pures or the simple str pure with 1 def. (I say str pures loosely because I know that there are different hybrids out there with high magic/range along with str). Thanx and happy scaping =p
  6. players who have 9 hp have created their character in rs classic, their character transfered over to runescape with 9 hp. The tutorial on runescape starts players off with 10 hp. The 9 hp accounts are extremely rare so your lucky if you own one with 9 hp.
  7. I noticed that many players stand differently than others. My character seems to have a foot forward when standing still while other players are standing with their feet together. This strikes me as odd but i think that newer characters have their feet together while older accounts have their feet offset (i'm not sure about the timeframe). This might just be me because im usually busy doing something other than looking at how others stand. What do you think...or what do you know about this. thanx =p
  8. Nice, i first decided to cut oaks b/c i needed to raise my wc lvl (which is quite low for my level). I was cutting about 3k oaks an hour, thought it was slow, and decided just to merchant them =) And btw, srry about the "noob" calling...i'll refer to them as "lower levels" from now on. =)
  9. Haha, well anyways, when the construction skill came out, i was like, woopdeedoo for members, so i continued cutting my oaks (being bored, paying less attention to my character, plus i needed wc xp and oaks for fletching) my friend pm's me and tells me the construction craze going around. He also tells me that oaks have inflated up to 200. Grabbing my interest, i see the opportunity to make money. I head straight to varrock to sell my 15k oaks. Bam! 3 mil in my pocket in less than 10 minutes. A week earlier i was thinking of getting rid of them for 20 each but my instincts told me to hold on to them. Third day after construction was released, oaks dropped down to 100 each. Great, so i hurry along to draynor to buy logs from desperate noobs. Spending over 2 mil (the amount i had at the time) in oaks, at about 75 each, i find a buyer. He buys them for 100 each, i think to myself....easy money. Fourth day, who knows how long the inflation was gonna last, i make a bold move to double my money. I bought about 3 mil in oaks(50 each) from noobs. Funny thing is, most of them were trying to sell them 150+. I stuck around and they stuck around, desperation hit them, they cracked and sold for 50 each. Haha i thought, i win again, ok now time to sell. I pm my buyer and he tells me that he'd buy for 80 each because of decreasing oak prices. Oh crap i think to myself, this has got to be the last round of buying and selling for me before i lose any money. I head over to varrock hoping to find some1 who would buy my 25k oaks in spite of many other sellers in the area. Then i see the purple letters appear in my box...this must be some1 sent from the great saradomin =p. Yes! sold! An easy 7mil in 3 days. Well thats my story, Im sure theres many of you who are reading this who are thinking to yourselve....i blow that pocket change of staking. Well anyways this was just a time when i saw opportunity and took it (being a bit drained on cash =p)...if that means anything to any1. Well thanx for reading and happy scaping. =p
  10. Ok thanks for the advice...I'll be sure to keep them in mind.
  11. Well thanks for the advice. I'll think about making a defense pure just for a side project.
  12. I don't mean to be rude, but we kind of knew that already.
  13. I think we're getting a bit off the topic here....we're discussing defense pures, not ranging/magic/str pures :? . Anyone could could easily make one of those. I'm talking about straight defense, maybe a little variation...post your defense pure if you have one. :P [/i]
  14. Thanks for the comments. I've seen others training their defense pures training at the monastary (the pure hotspot) while training my strength pure. Quite frankly, I thought what a waste of time, seeing them hit 1's or 2's at the most. Here's a little story....It didnt quite hit me that they may be useful afterall until pking with friends. While watching and preying about for straggling loners and the occasional pking group, two full runers in their 60's come running by. Two runers, well, our group was tough enough to take them, on the account of many of us were maging. Thinking of the loot, we decided to take them on. Come to find out, they were lurers who lured us back to several lvl 70's. Hm, well, 70's, we can take them, our manpower was strong enough to overcome, or we thought. We attacked the runers, hitting very low, while the lvl 70's were hitting 20's on us. Geez, I thought. That day we lost to them. I thought, what if we had a defense pure...we could use him as a lurer...and here I am today asking for advice.
  15. Pure strength, magic, ranging characters are starting to pop up in the wildy, often in large groups or clans maybe (often the occasional pure loner), as I have seen in my ventures. Many of the pures are becoming common, but what about defense pures? Are they worth the time and effort of creating these characters? What are the benefits of these pures in the wilderness? I've been taking into consideration creating a defense pure, already owning a strength pure. Lets shed some light on this subject, what are your thoughts? If any, some advice on creating a defense pure. Ty
