I like the idea of different places the items go to depending if its in the wildy or not. A limit on the amount of items people can retrieve would definitely be needed to stop hoarding.
-
its simple, change the weapon and shield slots to left and right hand slots and thats that. Then you can have twin shields if you really want, or twin weapons, or a mix of both, or wield skill items in the slots instead(harpoons, hatchets, picks, warhammers, arrows in one, bow in other). Things like g mauls will take up both hands though.

was monk ever supposed to be a combat class
Junkieman replied to melikerunescape's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
i think it was intended as a booster and nothing else. How do you get bones? you kill stuff, what happens when you kill stuff? you get xp in whatever skill you killed them with. Although i believe it was more a melee booster intent, than the other skills. -
~~Newer Bank Of Runescape~~ **Updated again 05/15/09**
Junkieman replied to Thagern's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Supported. (Even tho i didnt read entirely, but even half that post made alot more sense than the current system.) EDIT:I've just seen your charity idea, i was thinking of something alone the same lines, but not with a charity as i thought it might cause problems. Im gonna edit a charity into my other post though. -
Inflation in Runescape. Is it getting to be too much?
Junkieman replied to Jeffro108's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
my post just had a full bunch of writing and didnt go through grrr. Anyway, i think i agree with you that it'd help a fair bit, but might take up a bit more resources. Jagex probably like prices rising, as it means ppl play longer etc, they are a company after all trying to make money. Ive noticed raw lobs were like 200 a month or two ago, and now going for 200-300 and even more in some cases too, so there are rises on somethings. But lobs are in great supply, and therefore fairly inelastic pricewise. I think with all the more players playing rs these days, theres more money into the economy, but in theory all the raw material supplies are unlimited(fish spots, rock and item spawn rates linked to serverload etc) so as more money comes in, so does more items to make it with, if you get me? My last post was more coherent. Basically, in theory it should balance out, except for rares cos they arent available any more, and so they can only really increase in price(look at antiques for a prime example). I dont believe you can apply inflation to one general item or two, but more only to the whole economy, its a general rise in prices over a fixed period of time(i could be wrong, i talked alot during economics, so feel free to correct any wrongness in this post, but not in a rude way please.). And you must think that somehow these rares are also slowly dissappearing from the economy, making them rarer(ppl might die wearing and lose them in a remote land where no one can pick up). The only way to reduce the prices of these really is for increased supply, and that aint happening, or stop them being traded somehow. You'll notice how when new items usually come in though(dragon hatchet anyone?) they sell for loads, until the slowly increase in number in existence, then their prices will fall. I need to think more about this topic. -
Ok, the title has very little to do with my post except the fact that i've had two ideas. The first being a function to personalise what you say. So you're fed up with the fact that everytime you want to change the colour of your writing you have to type the silly little code/trigger beforehand? Why not make a function where you can enter that in a box, and its automatically pasted before anything you say. I dont imagine this'd take up alot of resources, as its gonna be a simple sort of copy & paste/filter function like(if i sound like i dont know what im talking about, its most likely because i dont). It doesnt need to be a permanant value saved in your character, and will be erased whenever you log out(a bit like the run function, its only temporary in my eyes and a logout sets it back to walk). Any comments on this? Secondly, crap. I had a really good idea for secondly, i was damn proud of it, but i came here and read a few threads and posted then i wrote this and I've forgotten, but ill try to remember. Maybe ive forgotten because i actually read it here already, but i swear it was a really good idea. If i think it up again i'll edit it into this. EDIT: I *think* it was to deal with the problem of rares, why dont jagex just make them all untradeable? Forget all the people who already have them or made money, just make them untradeable now. Unfair advantage? They didnt care when they cut the crumble undead exp in half(without making any explicit notice i'll add). OR make them all untradeable, but available to any account that was around at the time they were released, as opposed to my original idea of everyone(to counter the argument of 'but they're to show how long you've been around'). Jagex MUST have account creation dates somewhere, i cannot understand why on earth they wouldnt. How hard would it be to do it like that? Just let anybody who was around at the time of the drop have them from Thelissa, and all untradable. People who werent, tough, its the whole point of them surely? I know theres alot of posts like this, i dont care too much for rares myself, but they are affecting the economy. (I'll go get some water in preparation for the flaming) EDIT EDIT:THIS WAS THE IDEA! I remembered as i was reading back the end of that post, and considering why they were getting rarer. Anyway, so, items right? They are either picked up or they arent, we all know what happens to the ones that are picked up, but what about those ones that arent?? As far as im aware they dissappear into oblivion, and whats the point of that? people tell us everyday to recycle and so i think there should be an item graveyard of some sort, so that after something has dissappeared cos its not been picked up, can be recycled. I dunno where it should be, maybe at like high level wilderness where everything goes into a big patch for a longer time than it normally exists(items only stay for like 5min after other players can see them). These could go to the graveyard for like 1-X hours. Or the graveyard could get completely cleared every X hours. Alternatively, they could go to general stores maybe? Scatter them over the general stores of the land, or have a specific lot of general stores where all the uncollected items go, like a lost and found shop(only you dont go and claim stuff you've lost, you pay the general store of stuff other people have lost). I'd like to hear any thoughts on the idea, its probably been a common idea in the past though. In the meantime, ill prepare for even more flaming. EDIT THE THIRD:Having just read Thargens excellent post about bank space, his chairty idea might be alot better than my graveyard idea, i recommend going there. Althought with the graveyard idea, make it in wildy and like abyss that you get instantly skulled upon entering, and theres a limit to the items you can take from it. Thargens Thread Here

More bank deposit boxes, and in different places?
Junkieman replied to Candymann16's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
they only put them in for those people that use a bank PIN...oh wait, why ARE they in the game? ;) -
i did always wonder where the wood comes from for that handle you make whilst smithing the axe. It'd make perfect sense to have made only heads smithable with the advent of the random events. Then you needed to make a handle with fletching, but need a certian wc/craft/fletch/mining/smithing(pick one) level to attach it to the axe head. It'd work for picks and axes(i dont get why picks arent smithable).

If you could change one aspect of the game....

if you're talking to me, i suggest you read the entire thread before you reply, its only like 2 pages. jeez... -
Honestly, bar the rune mysteries quest, there has been all the same f2p quests since like the beginning of 2003. I did all the free quests before i became a member, and just trained up my skills and stuff for a while after i'd done them. Then became a member recently. There's a reason f2p dont get more quests, its because you arent bringing anything much in for jagex, i barely ever used to click their ads, i doubt alot of you do these days. Just be grateful for what you've got, and try harder to convince your parents.

i dont play away from my computer, unless ive gone to answer the door or phone or something. i merely do other things at the same time, which is why i think its unfair for me to die from it. And like i said, alot of auto-ing software has detection for random events anyway.
-
now, i was thinking about having this the other day, for completely a different reason. anyway, ill get to that after, it does have benefits though for cooking-can drop burnt food quickly. stackable items-you might only want to drop a certain amount, but then i realised 'why? the only reason you'd want to drop is to make space, and this makes no sense'. This was the reason i wanted to drop, i wanted to note stuff and go around dropping notes of 1 all over the place! HAHAHAHAH. Note:I was quite bored at the time. It came to me when i saw a noted tuna, and scrambled for it, but some other guy got there first. then i felt bitter.

I dont know if its just me, but does anyone else think that death by randoms is a bit harsh? Many a time I've been on these forums, or talking on messenger for a minute, to return to me in the middle of lumby/fally. I dont mind, its just i end up losing stuff :(. Now dont get me wrong, im not trying to say that we shouldnt have randoms(even tho their purpose was to stop botters, and i know alot of them have anti-random measures anyway). I dont mind randoms, i think they're fine, and i totally support their existence, kinda. I just dont approve of them being able to kill me! I like the ones like miles/niles/iles, where they'll cert all your items. Or Rick turpentine and others, who'll tele you somewhere random(i think? ive never actually ignored him). The old man maze was cool too, and how the boxes dupe in your invent etc. I just dont approve of the death factor involved, anyone else agree with me on this?

i was gonna say the strength thing, building upon something someone else said. Weight carried/energy depletion should be directly linked to strength. Attack and Defense should be tied into some things too. To the dude who wants to get rid of the 'soul-crushing' boringness, a large part of me agrees, and totally wants it done away with too. I think slowly, very very slowly, jagex are making things easier. They cant do it all in one go, there'll be too much uproar about it from the people who had to do it the hardway(quite disappointed myself about them cutting crumble exp in half, just as id finished making all my chaos runes.) One thing I'd love to see done is for all the old holiday drops to be made un tradeable. They COULD do it, and should have done when they made rs2. I'd also like to see classic made f2p again.(even tho im p2p) -
They should have a "free members day"
Junkieman replied to hobobob7's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
You may notice, that isnt a real quote, but why did you have to revive this dead topic? jeez, the last post was 6 MONTHS AGO. as for the idea, sure its all marketting gimicks and that, but theres too many problems. -
i was thinking this the other day too, for a game called runescape they dont seem too focused on magic or runes. and even if its unfair to make them, how about prayers for ranging and maging? theres all those fancy ones for melee, but nothing for range and mage!
-
lol. i was really looking forward to the fishing guild, but it was a real letdown. it was really quiet there too when i went, nobody says anything.
-
it'd make a good non-tradeable quest reward, like a proper hard quest, that needs lots of QP to do.

In your day? When was your day? Did it take place in a dream? Rune shops have sold chaos and death ever since I can remember. And 4 mil for a nature staff, as you suggested, is funny. 4 Mil is approximately 13k natures. Once you pass 13k alchs, then youre MAKING 300gp each alch. This would be bringing in even more money to the economy then alching currently is. (Or at least quicker, seeing as you wouldnt have to rc nats) lol sorry, i actually did mean to say 14mil. still though, 13k alcs will take a fair bit of time as it is, how long before you get bored? i didnt spend ages thinking and calculating when i made that post, i made it up as i went along, forgive me, i have better things to do. as for MY day, it was evidentally before your time, im guessing you werent around in the days before you had all these fancy rs2 graphics, and your runecrafting skills (like i clearly said, put some effort into reading before you post). if you were, you'd know the shops only sold like the basic elemental runes, minds and bodies. As for the comment about more money in the economy, it is not neccesarilly a good thing(i got the impression that comment was made in response to something i said?) The way you speak about everything makes it even more obvious youre lying. And when you say you put effort into your post, does it mean you used your imagination super-duper a lot? :? I am awaremore money in the economy isnt a good thing, in fact, in the context it was mentioned in, it should have been quite clear that I was saying it was a bad thing. i see, i wasnt sure what you was getting at with the money thing. as for thing about me putting effort into my post, i dont recall saying that, i said you should put some effort into reading. it was cos you seemed to be re-stating my point that you i thought you were getting at more money being a good thing. and yes, yes i am lying, all i do is lie, every single post i make on these forums are lies, because im sad and lonely, and need friends, so ill lie about stuff to make them. im not exactly sure what it is you're trying to say im lying about, but i dont honestly care, you obviously are an idiot, and i dont want to get off topic arguing with you. but dont take any of this personally, as im sure you're going to do. im just saying things as i see it.

i am actually quite fairly intoxicated right about now, but i agree, nringing up the realism of whales doesn t treally help, even considering it ws me that done it anyway. i dont see why we woudl need whale s in the game, i cant even fish sh\ark as it is. i only just got 68 fihsing for the guild(which is rubbish btw) and i think the fishing guidl should be much better than it is. hell, catherby is better than there1!!!
-
i actually think this rule was to stop an account having an unfair advantage over any other accounts of equal status./standing. but like someone said, it isnt the primary concern of jaegex, i think botters are.
-
im afraid that yes, yes i did. i want to use them on f2p, but only on like npc monsters, not on other players. besides, jagex would love me advertising p2p items on f2p servers, encourages more people to get p2p=more money to them. its just cos i need my bank space(whch thanfuly i can use on f2p) and theres my rune long, which i'd get rid of, but in the event of ever fighting stuff on f2p i keep.
-
now that WOULD be crazy, how much would a whale add to your weight? how could you fit it through the door let alone onto the range? When i read this post, i assumed it might be about ways to cross the seas, now, whale riding would be coo..
-
that does actually make alot of sense, but it could probably be got round by using these ways everyone knows about but have never ever tried, ever.
