  1. my kudos! the shark kudos are mine! but, kudos to you, thats a very length and in depth post about them autoers. It's cool to see someone taking it really seriously, I'd do the same IF I COULD GET ONTO THE GAME, and if I noticed lots of them. They need to have more pmods about to check up on these people.
  2. Well, I was having the problem on my laptop, so i decided to see if im having it on this comp as well. My Laptop specs are, Windows XP Sun Java 1.5.0_06-b05 1.4GHz 352MB RAM This PC is Windows XP Sun Java 1.5.0_06-b05 2.21GHz 512MB RAM An this pc is having the same problem :(. The java console for some reason doesnt display as much detail here, but it does say; Vend:Sun Microsystems Inc. Error: loaderror Loading animations - 77% 65 And, as implied, animation loadings are stuck at 77%. I'd get firefox, but my brother is being an idiot about it.
  3. Still not suggestions? Never happened to anyone else? I've tried again since yesterdya, its now at 85% but still showing that exact same trying to connect to socket thing. I noticed a few other ppl on official forums are having the same trouble, but I cant post because I'm not a member yet and dont intend to be until I get it working. Although, if theres a very nice member reading this who would like to post on my behalf, I would appreciate it. *nudge nudge*
  4. I've left it since that post, it crawled to 81% at some point, the logs got more of these though :s. network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT
  5. I'm returning to runescape after a 3month break, but it isnt loading now for some reason. The loadup is stuck at Loading Animations - 79%, and it isnt the java app itself, cos normally when it turns white when i change window then change back. Anybody else having this problem, or had it? The java console is telling me this(i've tried different worlds too), and i dunno what it means, maybe someone else can shed some light? basic: Loading applet ... basic: Initializing applet ... basic: Starting applet ... basic: httpCompression = true network: Connecting http://jolt3.runescape.com/loader-313381166.jar with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting http://jolt3.runescape.com/loader-313381166.jar with cookie "RSORIGIN=RUNESCAPE; RSCOUNTRY=0; jagextimeout189=1143229043744; serverlist_order=MLPW; jagextimeout155=1143231617645" network: Server http://jolt3.runescape.com/loader-313381166.jar requesting to set-cookie with "RSCOUNTRY=0; path=/; domain=.runescape.com; expires=Mon, 24-Apr-2006 19:49:32 GMT" network: Server http://jolt3.runescape.com/loader-313381166.jar requesting to set-cookie with "RSORIGIN=RUNESCAPE; path=/; domain=.runescape.com; expires=Mon, 24-Apr-2006 19:49:32 GMT" basic: Downloading http://jolt3.runescape.com/loader-313381166.jar to cache basic: encoding = null for http://jolt3.runescape.com/loader-313381166.jar basic: Cached file name: loader-313381166.jar-557b3743-4fdc3879.zip security: Loading certificates from Deployment session certificate store security: Loaded certificates from Deployment session certificate store security: Loading certificates from Internet Explorer TrustedPublisher certificate store security: Loaded certificates from Internet Explorer TrustedPublisher certificate store security: Checking if certificate is in Deployment permanent certificate store security: Checking if certificate is in Deployment session certificate store security: Checking if certificate is in Internet Explorer TrustedPublisher certificate store Vend:Sun Microsystems Inc. network: Connecting http://jolt3.runescape.com/crc66718985-367 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting http://jolt3.runescape.com/crc66718985-367 with cookie "RSORIGIN=RUNESCAPE; RSCOUNTRY=0; jagextimeout189=1143229043744; serverlist_order=MLPW; jagextimeout155=1143231617645; jagextimeout108=1143232276482" network: Server http://jolt3.runescape.com/crc66718985-367 requesting to set-cookie with "RSCOUNTRY=0; path=/; domain=.runescape.com; expires=Mon, 24-Apr-2006 19:49:35 GMT" network: Server http://jolt3.runescape.com/crc66718985-367 requesting to set-cookie with "RSORIGIN=RUNESCAPE; path=/; domain=.runescape.com; expires=Mon, 24-Apr-2006 19:49:35 GMT" network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT network: Connecting socket://jolt3.runescape.com:43594 with proxy=DIRECT I'm guessing obviously its got a problem there, but I dunno what the hell it is! I'm on a router and got NIS 2005 on this computer, but I've never had a problem with it and I've had my router for 9 months, weirdness.
  6. I didnt actually realise there were quite so many mature players! I'd try getting my parents into it, but they probably dont have the patience(and my mum doesnt like computers much).
  7. I dont even remember How I found runescape, but I'm 18 and a halfish now, and I been playing since I was 15ish to kill time. I intend to keep playing until it shuts down(which it wont for a veeerry long time hopefully). Although, I play for like half a year then stop, then half a year and stop. Its a very unique game, and thats why i think it attracts the older people, cos they've probably played all sorts of games that eventually just seem like each other.
  8. Has jagex been shown/told about this yet? If you wanna, change my name on the list to junkieman608(i'm at 14), because thats my rs name, and I was a member for a half a year last year, but I've been on a break since christmas. I still totally support the idea too, especially all the little changes since I first read it.
  9. Dude, absolutely dont worry about it. I been playing since the rs1 days and I fell for that a few months back. At least now you know their tricks, and how to avoid them. As for the 'scam' in question here with the jagexmode, all I can say is ROFFLEMAU!
  10. Loving it, carrots are a pretty prominent root vegetable in my opinion, surprised they dont feature anywhere in jagex! Hopefully it will be there when I return to playing sometime.
  11. I think another problem is that with fansites, alot of people take their word as being as good as jagex's or maybe even better, and such aspects like forums and whatnot can also lead to problems like scamming(and maybe the fencing of auto'ed goods, where jagex cant monitor it if they're trying). Basically, everything and everyone on a fansite is beyond their control, and the only way to do anything about it is to compete and offer a better service. Although, I'll stick with tip.it right through til the end.
  12. It is very similar, except for the one difference. What happens when the company runs out of stuff to make surfboards out of? It will eventually happen. The thing with runescape is that it will never happen.
  13. i thought it was an attempt to better the fansites too as soon as I saw it.
  14. correction, what sort of noob has full black(t), and dies at dark wizards? i dont think this was a completely accurate story, what with the guy saying he bought the 'noob''s black t back.
  15. just add it as a rubber chicken effect, because thats gonna really annoy the people without rubber chickens. dueling gloves would a, take up more bank space and b, be pointless, and people will get bored fast.
  16. is this guy you, or your friend, you seem to use the two interchangeably, was a funny pic though. How do you plan on getting stuck in varrock?
  17. i think macroing actually affect the shark prices, sharks started selling for 700 each, as opposed to the previous 1k. Now, 300gp is a fair bit to a newb alone, but if you're selling 100 sharks, you've lost 30k. It was cos all the autoers autoed up their fishing, the shark fished in the guild, its my believe they then cert dropped them to another account, and sold them(i saw loads of people selling loads of shark, without anything near sharking levels). But yeah, all those people can afford to sell for 700each, which is a pretty sweet profit when you're making nothing, and it hurts the actual people who sharkfish, plus it brings more stuff into the economy, and circulates money more.
  18. basically, it ruins the rs economy. Because, unlike real economies with the basic economic problem, resources in runescape are unlimited. Hence, macroing brings stuff into the economy faster, pushing it up, and affecting prices. This is just a short answer, hopefully someone will explain in more depth.
  19. Fair enough point, and very valid, IF you know how to script for yourself(or for your friends self, as the case may be ;)), majority of autoers don't know how, and just use premade scripts. And so, with everyone using the same script, it's obvious they're autoing, if you get me? I do like your idea harper, but like the other guy said, they'll find a way around that after a while. However, as long as theres a will by jagex to stop them, then i guess its a battle of wills. Even so, i dont know the state its in still, havent been on since xmas time. Seems like people keep reviving my thread a few days before i come back for a visit.
  20. wow, someone revived my thread(i stopped rs and visitng these forums a few days after my last post in here). I noticed that a little while after the rsc mass ban, there was also an rs2 massban(i think?), i still been checking the news from time to time. Anyway, I'm guessing/hoping that autoers are alot less common now because of it, but like i said, i havent been on rs so I cant comment. In reply to the above poster, for the exact reason that you DONT want to punished. If you did get punished, who would you blame most? Whats gonna be a better deterent from autoing, a ban by jagex, or your family hating you for screwing up their playing account? Besides, the impact upon already playing accounts is not major, and doesnt cost anything to the account, just restricts access for a few days. (i also realised, upon reading again, it was a bit of an 'omg theres all these autoers it sucks blah blah' posts)
  21. lol, great article, its all true. The worst thing though, are the people that try shorthand but dont quite manage it, like the people who cant figure out what sound 'eight' makes, and just type stuff like 'sk8ter'. I say alot of it has come from mobile phones and texting, where shorthand is very useful if you arent a faster texter, but there is absolutely no need for it at the keyboard. See that? its just terrible spelling, it looks like terrible spelling and makes me think you cant spell. Its not shorthand at all, you've missed out one letter, and completely changed the rest. Realy would have been better, cos I'd have assumed it to be a typo. (btw, dont point out that ive missed apostrophes and capital letters, because i have. I know it already, and ill admit the internet has made me lazy and got me into bad typing habits. But i try and spell all my words fully. I can definitely agree that these bad habits flow over into my academic work too though :(.)
  22. i think you people need to stop being such multi-multis. If you have 2 characters, you do it twice, 3 characters you have to do it once more. Why should you even need more than 2 characters?!
  23. Supported. And give me my right click 'whip noob' option when wielding whip like rubber chicken!
  24. simple really, make the new items untradable until complete.
  25. for the sheer reason that it costs so much lol. why have the g t and god armour???
