Get that remaining f2p quest done. I'd have recommended training rcing up a bit more, so that you could craft nats, or at least chaos. Other than that, and raising stats a bit, theres not alot you can do to train up for members.

18gp per bow is still good, you're making 18gp per bow AND the fletching and magic xp. Aren't magics better money than yews though? Fletching/alching wise? EDIT:No, I was wrong, I thought the high alch values for the magicbows were completely different to what they are.

Okeydokey, thanks for the advice guys! I'll get onto it in a few days or so hopefully. Glad I can make everything I need :D

If I were to do the mage arena, attempting to get one of the spells to use outside of the arena(never done mage arena before), how many runes would it take me roughly, to complete it get all the stuff and be able to use the spell outside of the arena? I assume the requirements are the same for every spell, but I plan on going for Guthix. (p.s could someone also tell me differences between mystic stuff and splitbark stuff, which is cheaper and which is better?)

I gotta agree with the above user, once you get 70 fletching and 44rc, it's like getting paid to earn magic xp. You can even buy your logs and bstrings(300 and 150 respectively) and get a high alch of 768, which is like getting 318 per nat AND magic xp. Only probelm is it all takes time. I have got 70 fletching now though, gonna pull the money in with it.

Thanks, looks like I've got alot of rcing ahead of me then. Glad I can double up my cosmics next level.

profitable, is the word. And really, the point at which it is best is when you can make the best bows, after that I think 99 is just a by product of using the skill alot. I've spent the last few days trying to get from 67-70 feltching, but I'm using maples and making longs to high alch with my own nats. It's taking a while though, I've been spinning my own flax too though, for the crafting xp.

get some pots or pies and raise your fishing to 76 and catch some sharks, repeat as neccesary.

I assume this is reference to the magic spell 'Superheat Item' which allows you to smelt one bar without the use of a furnace. You need only the required magic level, and the runes(a nat and some fires i think), and the ores of course.

Two questions. In the mage training arena, you can buy yourself the spell named bones to peaches. However, I am curious to know(from people who've done it preferably, but it doesnt matter really, as long as you arent just making stuff up), how many of the different types of runes do you reckon I would need to use up in the arena to earn enough of the points in each category to buy the spell? Second question, shilo gems, what are they good for? I know opal can be used to make bolttips, but what about Jade and Topaz? What are they good for?

oops, posted the wrong thing in the wrong place. I hope however, that you werent referring to me bubsa?

Jagex only listen to us with one ear, they still do what they want even if we think its bad, and its because they can afford to. People are hooked, you need to keep playing anyway, and once you're a member its very hard to go back to f2p without clearing your bank out, another great idea. I hated the pure essence idea, after a few days, they should have made it mineable on f2p with like 30 or 50 mining or something, and a little thing like they used to use when you slept at sleeping bags, or another method used by the random events. I havent bought any pure essence since, I havent done alot of high level runecrafting and I was lucky enough to buy 15k essence just before, which got converted to pure. Another thing with pure, all those that made their money from essence, may consider becoming p2p to mine pure, as they will be making more money because pure essence seems to be going for at least twice its previous price.

Constuction:More than just another new skill?
Junkieman replied to Junkieman's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
More stuff you can make, more money people will spend on the skill. Why is it not possible to make any raw materials, if it wasnt intentional? It's not like fletching and craftng don't already exist, with similar sorts of things doable(you can make cloths at looms) -
Constuction:More than just another new skill?
Junkieman replied to Junkieman's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Sounds more and more like it was the intention of this skill, to help drain some of that money out of the economy. I'd never wondered before, until today, whether jagex considered things like the economy of runescape. It's clever too, because I have yet to see how you can actually make much, if any, money out of the construction skill, so you'll need to play more to earn more money to level it, possibly something else jagex considered. I don't doubt their member subscriptions have just rocketed with this update, I know of a fair few f2pers who have become p2p just for this. -
I read the first post, and a few of the subsequent posts. Gotta say, archer raises some good points, and I am a little bit suspicious of Jagex at times too, I do reckon that they sometimes stretch the truth to make things out to be better for them. Honestly, whos gonna know if they lie? (unless that first post was an edited version of what was originally posted, I think the rest of you completely over-reacted to one little mention of zezima's name)

This post is going to be about the runescape economy, something I've seen come up alot on this board, usually tied in with rares. Theres been issues raised with the constant income of money, and I'm wondering, is this brand new super easy to level skill known as construction possibly been brought about with the intent of taking alot of gold out of the runescape economy? Lets look at it this way, theres planks and cloth. Both could have and should have been easily makeable by the player in fletching and crafting respectively, would have been ideal and good for levelling in other skills, I always expected PoH to closely level everything else in a way. The point is, these things are makeable by the player, maybe nails, but those are only used up to the extent of normal planks anyway. I'm wondering why the only way to get planks is to pay 100+ per plank! Thats like 2800 for a full inv, and not the sort of money that I'd casually spend. How about the house as well? A modest fee of 1k, but with massive costs on rooms, 1k, 5k, 10k for a workshop and so on, some plants for the garden are pretty expensive as well. Again, I'd usually think twice, probably even more, before spending such amounts of money, but this is a new skill to level and everyones eager and doing it so I'm carelessly spending money. One person I know is aroun 70 construction now, and she says shes spent 6mil+ to level it to there(im not entirely sure, but from what I know of her she wouldnt have bought much off other players, so lets assume 90% of this is going out of the runescape economy), which is my point, all this money is leaving the economy through the NPCs, and I'm curious as to how people think this may affect things? Will prices rise, fall, stay the same? Will rares lose value or increase? What are people's opinions, if one person is spending 6mil, how much money could possibly be leaving the economy? There are currently 314 people at lv70+, thats at least 2billion thats left the economy in the last few days, working just off the number I had(more near 1.5), although I reckon its actually been more.

whats this post about? I get a strange feeling I'm missing something significant here.

I have a life! I do loads of cool things, help out in the garden, go out to other peoples houses, I cook and fish, I slay monsters, it's a very active life! MY LIFE OF RUNESCAPE. in all seriousness though, I have quite a good life otherwise, and wouldnt give up runescape for alot of things. It's nice to have, something to do when you don't have something to do sort of thing. Sounds like you are either someone whos bitter cos he sucked and gave up, or just someone trying to cause trouble. Either way, you're an idiot.

Just to re-iterate for people who may have negelected to read the first post, my mage level is 61 and I AM a member. However, I'm keen to use up my deaths and chaos, because they are just sitting in the bank otherwise. I'll get to work on the mage arena sometime and I've got 57 rc so I'm good for most of what that needs, here however, I'm keen to use the deaths and chaos, just in need of spots for them. I don't wanna sell and buy cammy teles either, I could just make my own laws. (having said that, I have just seen the xp from a cammy teleport spell so maybe)
-
woah? not needed for anything above normal planks? What level will i stop needing them at then? Besides, I'll still be able to use them, I'm only lv6.
-
I've got deaths and chaos to use, with 61 magic, but what would be good to mage train on? Something that'd give good drops preferably, but easy to mage. I'm considering maging some white knights in fally, but theres probably better places for me(I'm p2p). Where would people suggest to train?
-
Hmm, I actually have like 2k iron and steel nails now, but havent tried selling them, would anyone be interested?
-
ahhh, that makes alot of sense, thanks!

I put it in herblore and slayer. This can be closed when someone tells me what RFD is, I looked through the quest list but couldnt see it?
