Right, I've been looking closely lately and wondering some things about the abyss. This isnt about your journey there, and what you wear and such, but actually how it is when you enter, and what obstacles you see. I'm wondering first off, what obstacle do you find yourself going through most in the abyss? Secondly, when you enter the abyss, how does it look obstacle wise to you if you face the camera towards the centre of it? The other day i went through some eyes, and another guy was also going through at the same point as me. I then asked him what he had gone through, and he told me he had to mine through. Which i found interesting, this was also not too surprising considering when I'm actually going through a spot, all the sourrounding obstacles I can see will turn into the same animation as the one I'm passing through. So, feel free to post away with your answers to my previous questions. My description of what i see is i tend to see an unpassable blockage right next to me, usually with a mining rock on either side to it. If not, I will see a squeeze through gap on both sides(and i tend to run to the right), i run past it and always seem to find a distract eyes right next to it. (i may be slightly wrong here, overlooked something due to it being a fairly common trip for me these days).

This might have been posted before, but I'm wondering how people get by in runescape. When you need to train something such as smithing, do you go mining yourself and do it all? When you need to train combat, do you get your own fish and cook them? When you do cooking, do you find your own food then cook it? Or are you one those people who buy the raw materials like ores and raws and train your skills with them? Or buy come pre-cooked food when you go combatting? Basically, are you a self-sufficient person or not? EDIT:sorry, typoed in the title. silly me.

But if im spending time going to meet people, im not spending time doing stuff. I dont like the HYT! idea what with these bannings over mentioning of websites. I dont see many people from tip.it though, usually only people I've directly made contact with over tip it for a sale or such. And very rarely do I ever bump into someone on runescape who I have met before. Although last night at the fishing guild I bumped into someone who had given me lots of tuna before, and I remembered her. Quite strange to have happened. I also saw Amythefairy there today(a scarce poster on the boards). Considering the number of people on tip it, the number of players on runescape, it is just not very likely of bumping into each other. No one plays on the home worlds either because of the lag and such. Maybe if there was a homeworld for each sevrer location?

I didnt want to bring dynamic IPs into the picture, they'd really ruin my plans! I havent noticed mine change to often, but it might be possible that its changed and changed back when I've looked another time. As for routers, I've never noticed mine refreshing the connection. As for them 6month offers, they're usually 12month minimum. What are th odds that someone that plays runescape will end up with an IP that has a 3 day ban from someone else who played runescape? Thanks for your comments though.

Right, this isnt another 'omg theres all these autoers it sucks blah blah posts'. I dont like them, and I dont care whether you do or not, this is just an idea to help prevent them returning. Please try not to focus on the issue of autoers themselves, but my suggestion as outlined folloowing. First off, IP bans. Now you're all probably like 'but families play the game!'. I think any account that has been found breaking rules for autoing should then be permanently banned forever once convicted certainly of autoing. I then suggest an IP ban on all account access from that address for a short period(1-3 days maybe). This will lead to them getting grief from the other legitimate players from your connection(such as a little brother maybe). Along with this, I also think there should be a longer period IP ban for newer accounts on that connection, maybe 1month long. No new accounts may be created from that IP for one month, or any newly created accounts be able to access from that IP either(so they cant go out and create the account elsewhere then auto with it further). I also think the IP's accounts should be watched somehow for autoing. Of course, I am well aware this is all gonna require alot of effort and resources, and so may not be entirely feasible. For the temp ban on other accounts from that address, membership time status gets frozen, or a proportion of it is lost. Then again, is 3 days of membership time a massive amount to lose?

I'm fairly sure this 'afk' training is not against the rules. If you are browsing forums, then surely you arent even afk-ing! Jagex say that as long as the player themselves are physically pressing the keys and clicking the buttons/mouse, then they are not breaking any rules. Browsing the forums whilst playing therefore, is not breaking the rules. AFK training is not against the rules, but autoing is.

hahaha, you guys have got winter-een-mas!!! I just signed up to CAD premium recently. What exactly is that event gonna be though...? A big log burning or something? -
what do you mean?? Also miss the colours, they were more vibrant then and rune was a much cooler colour. Mith was also very different looking to rune, sometimes its hard to tell these days. And with what modus mentioned, the old 3 hit system was better for pkers. But then again, I dont pk so I'm glad.

Thats the thing I was talking about in my post, which some people didnt seem to read. edit:i didnt mean you, i meant people who posted after and restated what I'd said. I wasnt sure which act it fell under, but i was pretty sure it was some of legal jurisdiction.

Goodbye Everyone! (Plus a warning!!) [EDIT] Ban shortened!

I dont think I'd have ever found this place all that time ago unless someone told me about it in game. As for poster of this topic, are you still leaving the game now then? -
i was always f2p in rs1. I miss the people(they type of people), there was something nicer about back then. I'd say the majority were of a higher calibre back then. I also miss the legskirt conversion, and low prices. I used to think those prices were outrageous, i;d give anything for 100each coal now...well, not anything, but something aroound the 100gp mark. :P

I agree, but how will they verify it and such? even some 'adults' may not play by the rules, possibly even more so due to the complexity of writing scripts.

that is harsh, especially for the guy you PMed to report you. I'd say find a contact address and snail mail andrew telling him how much his employees suck. I never say the .it on the end anymore, i always just mention tip and hope they know what I mean. I've seen pmods say websites themselves though, its just not clear where the boundaries are on the issue :(. -
i'd play classic for sure, the only reason i dont at the moment is because i feel its a waste of my 3.20 a month when i could be spending the time on rs2(played rs1 back in the day, like since start of 2003, took over a year out shortly after the rs2 update when i came back as a member).

I have seen some questionable ads on the runescape site, I dont think jagex realise a large proportion of their userbase are under the age of 18. They should try getting ad deals from companies aiming products at younger users.
-
If i see a level 3 pure with the one skill in highscores, i report them. IF they arent autoing then jagex shouldnt ban them(i think i reported the same two people twice today, jagex might not be happy about that, but it was only to give them enough evidence to judge by :(). I dont like lv3 skill pures, i dont like skill pures at all, unless its mining. What is the benefit of having a skill pure other than mining?? First off, whats with your bad attitude here? Secondly, someone else mentioned the guy to me today at the fishing guild, you tell me how you KNOW the guy didnt cheat.

Its some legal precdent in effect already I'd say. Didnt you have to say whether you were under 13 or over 13 to join these forums? ALOT of forums sites require you to be over 13, and if under 13 to have parental consent. I think its something to do with data protection act possibly, as i know of other things which ask if you're over 13 or under 13. Even if under 13s lie to sign up, it stops jagex from being responsible legally in part because the 13 year old has been explicitly told they must be over the age of 13 to sign up, and disallowed to otherwise without parental consent probably. This way, they CAN blame the kid for lying. Go look at some porn sites, they all state you must be over the legal age to view them to cover their own backs. (note:im not encouraging people to look at porn, that would be immoral :P, im fairly sure alot of people will know what i meant when i mentioned that).

a temporary solution to the latest security threat?
Junkieman replied to Junkieman's topic in Tech and Computers
Thanks for that colt! -
Hi everyone. I've had a router for a fair while now(6 months) and use it to share my broadband between computers in my house. Theres currently three computers, our hallway computer(call it hallway), our laptop using a wireless card(call it laptop), and my brother's computer(call it john). hallway and john are wired in, laptop is wireless. Now I tried shortly after getting it to network them so that i share files and resources(printers etc) between them, without much luck at all. hallway has a printer connected to it(laser mono) and john has a colour inkjet on it. Laptop has nothing. There is no hubs or nothing, just all 3 computers connected into the router, which is then connected to the modem. I've also set the router to give each specific local IPs too when they connect. Now, what i need is for someone nice who understands my situation to help me out and let me know how I can get my computers to see each other somehow and share files etc(apparently its something to do with IP routing, dunno much about it). I know a bit about computers and stuff, but I'd appreciate it simple. I think im a quick learner, I might be wrong, no ones a good judge of themself. Thanks people for reading, and helping if you can.

I couldnt find the instructions from microsoft, looked all around that security alert in announcements, but it looked like it was all just information. -
a temporary solution to the latest security threat?
Junkieman replied to Junkieman's topic in Tech and Computers
I feel I'd rather wait for the official microsoft patch to come out on their site first, call me silly like that. -
I was wondering, having just read the security threat warning about programs piggybacking on image files, if i was to turn off image display through internet explorer's options, would that prevent me getting infected by anything taking advantage of this?

A guy died once, i took his glory wealth rune kite and full helm, along with bits of shark and stuff. Poor guy. I still use them both to the day. Also, a guy in seers bank said he was selling dragon spear poisoned for 100k, i dont know if anyone noticed, or thought he meant dds. I traded with him, and got a dss for 100k! Still got that too. Also spent like an hour or more at the abyss trying to get a large pouch with no success, went back last week with my whip and got one in like 5 minutes!

Hehehehe, that was a great read.

I was just thinking today, there isnt a dragon weapon for everything currently existing. Wheres the dragon warhammer, or dragon shortsword? I would say dragon claws also, but those sound like a silly idea to me(not saying the other two are sensible, but i was just wondering why they dont exist).
