Increases the value of lots of blank rune essence, converting something of lower value to that of higher value, in essence the same as what alchemy does. I did read the lottery idea, I liked it. I think I even posted in it.

jeez, i think only like 3 people who posted here actually bothered to read the post

"My Planks" - The *Construction* Theme Song

j00 is not as good lookin as lovely black eye laydeh! anyway, good song thingy, nice lyrics and all that. I wasnt sure who had more time on their hands, you or the dude linked to in this thread, http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=362080 You could also have stuck in a line about 'nono farmer, you dont want no farmer, farmer' hehe oh really? Click the link above for the best thing you'll have heard all week. -
Well in theory it does, just as using each pot seperately theoretically does. I swear I've been in an area(when i was f2p ages ago in rs1) where i was using str pots, when i used it, the monsters stopped attacking me. Thats cos when you hit a certain level(combat? attack? strength?) Certain things stop attacking you. But it was mainly just as a space saver idea for someone who might just want to go and do a spot of training, and can take up 1 space instead of 3.
-
This may have been though of/suggested before, but if not, im suggesting it. Why not make a combat pot? Now techincally, its not a standard herblore pot, but actually a combination of an atk def and str pot, and there could be super combat pots too. All that happens is you use an attack/strength/defense pot with an empty vial, and it puts one dose into it. Then repeat for others, or maybe it will only be able to be done if you already have like one dose of each left. And when all 3 are combined you get a 1 dose combat pot, that raises all atk def and str by what a dose of each pot would normally. It's basically just a space saver.

imo, morally jagex shudnt change skills halfway through, as it gives an unfair disadvantage(i was quite angry about the crumble xp cut). All the higher level players who did things the hard way may be bitter about it -
Take gas as an example of inflation: When I was born, gas cost $0.86 per gallon. When I started driving 16 years later, it was $1.25. Right now, it is $1.99. Why is it so high after 4 years? Because situations around the world (war, 9/11, Katrina, etc) caused prices to go up. Its the same with Runescape, except odd. People say there are fewer rares in circulation which somehow doubles thier worth in 4 months, but I am getting off topic. There is too much money coming in from high alchemy. Real world economies do not have magic to make instant money. The same is moderately true of the RS economy. We dont have a gold standard, so the value of money is in each person's head. People pay too much for an item and BAM! The price increases immediately. Yeah, i wasnt saying inflation only happens because of external economies, i said thats why it matters alot more in the real world. It WILL happen in any sort of economy, it just does, and I have no problems with your idea, i think it could work, but im not too bothered because im not a big fan of buying/selling rares, it'd be nice to have one, but unless i pick one up im not buying one. My point was that inflation will happen, and I wish people would stop complaining(although sometimes I have too). There are ways to slow it, but not alot of them are applicable to runescape, but the theory behind this is solid(providing my grasping of it isnt wobbly). I liked the roulette idea, and not entirely sure i fully understoon the npc idea and prices like. I dont think high alching should be removed from the game either, i swear its been around since forever, just theres more people and more higher level mages and runecrafting, which leads to it happening more. The money has to get into the economy from somewhere, and sometimes you just can't sell your product(1k yew longs? what you gonna do with them? Sell each individually, it'll take ages). For the single fact that the runescape economy is a stand alone sort of economy, with no real sub economies, I dont see any problem in extra money coming in, as inflation compensates for it. EDIT:As soon as posting this message, it took me back to the first post, and it suddenly made sense. I thought you were suggested larry the hat man BUYS rares off players. But unless im mistaken, you meant players buy off him? This would work, cos they're raising in price as they get rarer, and put some back in should hopefully drop the prices AND the money goes out of the economy. This idea actually makes perfect sense now that i understand it better!

That would be a good idea, but it'd lead to open banks where ever you want. A noob friend waits by the mine with you, you trade him your ores and they go straight to his bank. Alternatively, if you need something from your bank(more money, more runes etc) you trade straight from and to him, then he trades back to you and its in your pocket. Its a paradox.
-
it'll just lead to money doubling. Now, i think there should be a money lending service in the game, but so you can lend cash to other players in a safe and harmless way(like you lend them some money through an npc and a special code, or with your rsn name, only they can pick it up but have to give some sort of equivalent collateral which the npc holds for a certain number of days specified and agreed on by both players, if the loaner then does not get his repayment in time, he can keep the item(s), but the items and money being used would need to be agreed beforehand by the players together, and then specified to the npc as such by both players)

i believe that jagex have said defence actually raises evasion, and not endurance/hardiness/whatever the hell a word would be to describe taking a 5 instead of a 9 due to higher defence etc.

Sounds like a great idea to me too. But will jagex do it? probably not. If ppl level to the old 85 faster, whips'll come about more, and drop in price too. But jagex dont like people leveling fast, jagex like their money. -
I'll admit, and apologise, ive read 1 and half posts of this thread as im in a rush. But inflation, inflation happens in all economies, deal with it. The only reason it really matters in the real world, is that it alters the value of money due to the interdependance of currencies(dollar, pound, exchange rates etc), or at least, thats my impression for now.
-
Sounds all rather complex to me, i just always thought of GDP as a way to compare different economies of different places and stuff. I wouldnt be surprised if jagex actually do have a count of all the geepees currently floating freely in the game, along with some values attached to all the items(high alc/store values), and can actually see how much is in the entire game. Although, i imagine this'd take one huuuge calculation, bit of a drain on the ol computees.

Runescape is for kids? Then why....
Junkieman replied to vhdblood9999's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Well, I'm 18 and i play it, i usually be asking down at catherby shores how old ppl are, cos they all seem a bit juvenile. I think the games aimed at all ages, and with it being designed and made by adults, achieved rather well. Theres a great examine line for the trapdoor near the fishing guild that doesnt open. Anyway, the biggest thing i'd worry about for kids are the other people in the game. -
Oh, so suddenly we're tossing out suspension of disbelief just so we can have what some people say is "cool"? Right. Let's stop having pseudo-realistic motivations for quests, then, and have NPCs tell players, "Fetch my pants, because I'm an NPC." We could try cooking fish in water, because natural laws don't have to apply. Of bloody well course they don't have to apply. You'd like them to be used, though, otherwise the whole thing makes no sense whatsoever, and it'll end up feeling like some random mash of stupidity that someone put together on impulse. You want an immersive feel in an RPG - that's the point of them. To be immersive, you have to make as few changes to established systems as possible. Magic, dragons, whatever. That's fine, because they don't actually exist, so you can do what you want with them and sod everyone else's opinions because there's no concrete definition of them. Weaponry, on the other hand, exists in real life. And as far as not having to adhere to physics is concerned, I'd like to point out that you still stick the business end of your sword into the enemy, so chances are, your character's probably doing something right. As for your poorly constructed argument about shields - no. Holding two would restrict your mobility and make it HARDER to block attacks from someone who has a baseline knowledge of actual combat. Don't agree? Try it out at your local SCA, or anyone else who would know how to swing a weapon at someone with a shield. I'm not all to bothered about the game being extremely realistic to be immersive, in fact i believe it has to be the opposite. Runecrafting through the abyss, a void in space, is no where near realistic, but i get into it. Finding 'monsters' all over the land isnt realistic, but i enjoy fighting them. If you're after realism, i think runescape is most certainly not the game for you, theres too much about it that isnt possible. If you're holidng a shield on your right hand side, you're open to a blow on your left hand side, simple. Even with a sword or solid weapon in your hand you can block that blow, try blocking a sword with your arm or hand and you arent gonna get anywhere(if you had a shield of sort in both hands, then you would be guarded on both sides), offensive fighting isnt everything, and the point i made about two shields was exactly for a defensive with hardly any offensive. I think you need to calm down a bit, you seem to be getting far too worked up over it, and completely dumping on other peoples ideas, your comments dont seem to be helpful, only bitter. As for the people talking about duel wielding of bows, that wont be do-able, as it isnt currently. You can't hold a shield and bow at the same time, as one arm needs to be used for firing the arrow. To simply make duel wielding possible, just make any item than can be carried in one hand(such as swords, daggers, warhammers etc, where you can wield a shield too) duel wieldable. Do it for anything already in the game that allows you use the other hand in fact, and like i said before just change the 'weapon' and 'shield' slot to left and right hand/arm slots.

Runescape is for kids? Then why....
Junkieman replied to vhdblood9999's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Spongebob Squarepants anyone? Would you say that thats for kids? Cos i knows its loved by everyone, and there are some jokes in the film that kids just wouldnt get. If runescape wasnt intended for kids(thats not exclusive), then why are there chat censors? -
but they're disappearing away anyway. I'm saying for it to go to these places after the drop period(5min visible to the dropper, 5min visible to everyone else, then to the charity/graveyard/wherever instead of oblivion).

Magic I can understand, because, as I said earlier, this is a fantasy game and magic is a fantasy element. Suspension of disbelief allows it to become "realistic". Cooking I can also understand, because JAGeX has a reputation for creating poor animations. Dual-wielding as a viable combat style, I can't understand, because it is an actual method of fighting which is damned useless against all the sorts of enemies you find in this game. Suspension of disbelief. Learn it. Because whenever i hold a weapon in really life i get magcally stronger  Dont try using real world logic or physics to reason out runescape problems, you're a fool to try, they blatently dont apply. And i think you'll find the reason suggested was for extra speed in attacking. Nobody ever said you dont have to move shields about, but think if you had one in both hands, you have a better chance of blocking yes? I rest my case.

More bank deposit boxes, and in different places?
Junkieman replied to Candymann16's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
you want to train faster? get your skills higher or maxed faster? jagex dont. They want you to play for as long as possible, so they rake in more money. Always keep that in mind. -
extra defence, you're going somewhere to get something and you dont want to be killed easily. You could still attack with a shield if neccessary, just have some weak crush/bash attacks.

Change bones to bananas into bananas to bones. I started collecting bananas the other day thinking it was the second, but i realised shortly after i was wrong :(

been suggested alot, and i dont approve of them being tradeable at all. They should be non tradeable, and VERY expensive to replace if you lose it(will make you not wanna go pking with it for cost of replacing). And if you were gonna introduce all 3 staffs, make them like the gauntlets and so only one can be held at a time, with a fee to change it to something else. Still, it wont happen.

An Idea for a New Runescape Mini-Game: The Numbers Game ...
Junkieman replied to Rendertin's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
noobs=pwned! lol. i entertain myself! As for this idea i think its a great idea, worthwhile anyway, only make the jackpot the same as a real lottery, made up from the money put on tickets. Maybe take out like 5% to reduce the money thats floating around a bit, but it'd be cool to do. And you can always go back and check the current jackpot and stuff, maybe make the ticket vendor be in every bank. But dont put any extra money into runescape, i think it should all be funded by the money spent on it.
