  1. Or just let you change them. I really want purple particles but there's no 120 with them since its based upon the trim from the skill cape.
  2. That doesn't mean its the only thing involved.
  3. Most likely true. I used them as examples of those because Zamorak seems to be the god that they're trying to whitewash the most (from unambiguously chaotic evil to Darwinian-but-caring). Saradomin... Well, they said Death of Chivalry was supposed to give players a reason to support him, but you'll only get his "good guy" responses if you support him anyway. I think they're trying to bring all Gods towards the middle, which for Zamorak requires making him seem better than before and for Saradomin requires giving him flaws. They haven't gotten a chance to do this much for Zamorak, but they seemed to start with his book where he outlines a philosophy to Moia, not to mention making Moia feel better after she was treated terribly by her Father. Although, Is Zamorak a noble demon? Its kind of left ambiguous in MahMem, he could just be powerhungry and using whatever methodology he can to amass followers. In one of the memories it seemed to allude to him telling different things to different followers based upon what they wanted to hear. Saradomin though, at least before the 6th age could do no wrong. Now his major flaw seems to be his temper. He's essentially a guy trying to do good, but his terrible temper gets the best of him. He usually seems to try to do right afterwards but still fails and regrets his actions, but his temper won't allow him to not make future mistakes. He still seems to have a decent following in game so it doesn't seem too bad. Also, even with all the negatives, its been shown that Saradominists can have relatively peaceful and prosperous kingdoms. Can't argue with Bandos, I really think they killed him off way too soon. His redeeming trait seemed to supposedly be his honesty where he could call out hypocrites, but all that really had a chance to manifest as was "look, you claim to want peace but here you are at war". If any God was supposed to be Darwinian it was Bandos, the strong shall lead and you will get stronger following him or you will die. The fit will survive and the weak, well you weren't good enought to be worth caring about anyway Did they maybe go too far in making Zaros seem like a hero, maybe. We still don't know what his plans are or how he intends to ascend to Elder Godhood. It may be that his plans are so horrific that his motives needed to be this good to balance him out as a character. Perhaps he needs to kill Seren. Plus, there are still flaws there, maybe not enough were shining through on this one. He's definitely got Hubris, maybe more than Saradomin, although some might justify that because he is divine. He's also never been mortal, yet believes he is the right one to speak for mortals...he may not even know what the mortals truly desire or need. He's also got a line in his dialogue "If we give in to weakness, then we do not deserve the gift of life." Which could explain why his empire had so many things going on that should have been stopped, like Sliske's cruel plays and such. If you are weak and do not strive to overcome it, he does not care whether you live or die. Why did he excommunicate Sliske? For his attacks on the weak and poor? No, because Sliske decided to harm those who could be seen as useful people within Zaros' philosophy (Guthix, the Younger Gods if they would learn to use their power better, Sliske advising you to possibly not aid Zaros). So, while yes, this quest was leaning towards Zaros, there's still a lot of grey in him currently, and possibly a lot more to come in his methods of attaining elder godhood later. The God I'd argue is completely unbalanced by any major negatives at the moment is Armadyl. Yes, he took a cheap shot at Bandos' head after WE2, but overall he now has very few weaknesses if any. During the third age it seemed he was kind of naive, seeking peace and having a harder time bringing his full power to bear, that was a good weakness where he was unable to actually do what was necessary but that's gone now. All we have now is a God that is basically very similar to what Saradomin used to be within the lore.
  4. I just think a ladybug vs spider battle sounds the most plausible while still maintaining a sort of fantasy feel. Void Pests/furniture/jellyfish all seem pretty random. Snakes seem a bit too real in attacking spiders. Bug versus bug battle where the ladybugs are the aggressors seems a good mix
  5. still rampaging across the land, as evidenced by the recent change in the landscape that allows you to access seren's logs That I don't understand 1. how could she have gotten out of the volcano if the volcano was still there. I mean... She would be large enough to just BREAK IT APART and walk away, right? Not.. jump or fly out? 2. Considering a lot of the lore previously said that she was deathly low on energy for eons, and that she slept, and was eventually comatose, how did she not only wake up, but get enough energy to move around so much after the quest? I don't know if you talked to Zaros after the quest, but when asked about Mah and the Elder Gods, this comes up.
  6. Would not the increased price of processing skills also increase the price that newbies get paid for collecting the materials? The only one that this seems to affect negatively is those who only do combat and then buy skills. You're right, no new emotes, that was announced with the polls because these capes are being made by ninja team so that they don't affect any normal projects. Also, I was kinda hoping for Monkey and Cabbage warpriest as well, but knew not to expect it when they said that its no longer considered a world event just a spring event.
  7. Yea, I had to backtrack through all of them after I was missing one. Checked them all....still didn't find it. Turns out I had banked it during quest.
  8. 100% agree. I enjoy quests...But month after month of quests instead of focusing on much needed areas/skills...Blah, a flop month imo. This month's quest was done by funnel team, which means even if they focused on something else it probably wouldn't be too interesting to non-beginners. At least this way the quest might be enjoyable. I love quests though, and would love to go back to 2005 rates where there were I think 26 that year though, so my view may be skewed towards them more than yours.
  9. Yea, really glad they added that too.
  10. Yea, thats what I'm hoping, hopefully Jagex can do well bridging the gap and letting her be a part of joke stuff and more serious lore quests. I guess being the Goddess of hedonism can lend itself to both pretty well. I mean they also put Brassica in MPD without making that quest any less interesting so here's hoping.
  11. Everything this month looks decent. Nothing that seems like a complete waste of an update, nothing that looks amazing either but I'm ok with a month where I think each update will at least be interesting. Looking forward to the ashdale quest, really liked the look of it in the tutorial and would like to see it used more, plus it looks like maybe lovecraftian themes. Probably gonna support the monkey, although not happy they've put marimbo cannonically on the same story level as brassica, always thought she would be more on the level of tumeken, not a high tier but still important lorewise.
  12. Mod Michelle leaked it in the wiki http://services.runescape.com/m=rswiki/en/Elder_chronicle
  13. Yea, I suppose it could be the creature that Bik speaks through kind of like the TokHaar were for Ful since Jagex said they need a translator to speak to mortals.
  14. Well, Dramen really couldn't have been the name anyway, right? It would have had to have been something like "Dra" due to the 3 letter naming convention. It is kind of funny that Michelle just went and revealed that, probably without realizing it wasn't revealed yet, since originally it was supposed to have been revealed by the sleeper. Nothing says they have to have 1 syllable/3 letter names Jas, Feh, Mah, Wen... and... DRAMEN! Yeah.. not seeing it. Things can go by many names, Dramen being Bik is not yet an impossibility. I think Dramen is more like Vorago. An embodiement of the Anima Mundi. Why do you keep saying Feh? Isn't it Ful?

Nothing says they have to have 1 syllable/3 letter names I remember Osborne said at one time that they all would. They could always change it but I think it was around the time Ful's name was found someone asked.

  17. I said to Mod Rowley on twitter: opt in muspah would be fine...nihil though are kinda worthless once you get the title He replied: If we made them a Slayer target, we'd give them a proper drop table, no question. So, they will be getting drops then. Source: https://twitter.com/JagexRowley/status/448460745844748288
  18. One could argue that since the advent of bonds anything and everything on SoF and Solomans are available through the 'actual game' because, with a hearty dose of money making, you can get them all without paying Jagex any extra money at all (at least not personally anyway). That gets into incredibly dangerous territory, especially considering how much easier they've made things like pouches to obtain by actually paying instead of obtaining bonds in game. Is the degradable pouch actually worth 3m gp, no but it might be much more easily worth a dollar to someone. The main point about core features is that stuff like having to keep a bunch of runes in your inventory, and old ways of training agility should have been phased out ages ago and shouldn't really be behind a paywall. Especially when stuff like minigames and many skills are dying because the rewards have become useless. Monetizing these items while it may make Jagex more money to make the game, is harming the game because the content that they could have helped remains dead. If all useful rewards are put into solomons or TH then there's no point in actually playing most of the content in-game
  19. Depends upon what you're monetizing in my opinion. If you're monetizing cosmetic options and stuff like that, its fine to me. If you're monetizing core features that should be available through the actual game, then I have issues with it. I think the recent pouch and boots should have been core features to the magic and agility skills respectively. I think everyone should also at least get a free reset since its not the fault of skill pures that Jagex decided to poll the combat system again. After that first reset though I don't mind if Jagex adds a runecoin cost as long as theres also a loyalty point cost for those who made a mistake but aren't the type to heavily abuse the system.
  20. What's so wrong with that? The Sixth Age arguably has the most impactful and interesting storylines (Gods/Elder Gods, Artefacts, Mahjarrat, Dragonkin, etc.). Nothing else (for most people) even comes close. And they can't really finish any of these storylines anytime soon. There's still so much to do... At least the Return of Zaros series is ending soon. ---------- I am astonished that the Master Cape poll is actually passing. I was not anticipating this. What's the point? To change the direction of the entire game just to placate a small minority of players (no more than a thousand or two, who are going to be the only ones bothering with getting 120's). Why are casual/average players voting for this? My only consolation is when Jagex eventually starts putting content for levels 100-120 in these skills and the non-hardcore players actually have to level those, perhaps then they will realize their folly. Gnomes only need one more quest to finish up, and pirates/desert are only 2-3 aways from finishing. Apparently Osborne looks at penguins more like a serial and can't ever see it ending so I wouldn't vote for that, and E.W. apparenlty has another 10+ quests if Dylan's notes and plan that he had are followed. So, if it had won I'd probably have voted for Desert but looks like it won't. Personally I'm hoping that since 6th age looks like it will win that either Mod Stu gets to do a sequel to DoC or Raven gets to do Rite of Passage. Tuska could be good, but I can wait on that, and the kin or the elder gods will come in time, they're 2 of the pillars of the 6th age so seems a waste to throw away a vote on them. --------------------------------------------------- From the casual/average players I've talked to it usually comes down to 3 reasons that I hear. The first is that they don't really care about maxing but have 1 skill they really enjoy that they figure they can slowly work on that, the second is that they're being supportive of their high level friends that really want this, and the third is that it doesn't really effect them so why not. One friend I have is still quite far from maxing but has almost 100m fishing exp, he just really likes that skill and is looking forward to getting a higher cape for it.
  21. There's plenty of room for them to allow both. First time is free (if only for a limited time, or only for certain skills), any future resets come from Solomon's? Would that be 'fairer', for lack of a better term? The whole thing is a bit too close to prestige for my liking... Still too far from Prestige for mine. I could see maybe a first time free and then runecoin and loyalty prices for it, to prevent it being repeatedly used but to allow players to do it for free if they really want to.
  22. Should be Mahjarrat Memories this upcoming week.
  23. He could easily have added to it while digging without having created the whole thing.
  24. Yea, I assume its making something cause they didn't take it down so its at least enough to just leave it alone, but doubt its that big. Kinda sad though, seemed like a cool idea but I wasn't willing to pay for a membership for it. I almost wonder if they relaunched it now with options to buy membership and stuff with bonds how well it might go.
  25. what's the name of that other website... funorb? you're telling me they make no money from it?? Doubt they make much from funorb anymore. They probably make some but I'd think they'd still be advertising it and releasing more games for it if it was that successful
