i'd say...first try to make the face...if u can't handle it at all give up... It would be a pity in my opinion to work hard on a nice matching background and then u end up with an ugly face...cause i know girl pics are that hard sometimes to replicate that they keep looking ugly no matter what you do...more or less how they look like when they wake up :)

i'm not gonna rate all those sigs, still i can point out a couple basic things that could improve them. -1 add borders -2 your abstracts are totaly 2d but the only interesting one...the 7th one if i'm not wrong. This is a kind of big problem if u use 300x150 sigs since they'r big and having a single "dimensional layer" the overall look is a flat, not eyecatching image (ppl use to call that effect "boring"). I'd say maybe resize your abstracts to make them slim and work on them so that u have some kind of 3d fakes. Other than that there's nothing u won't fix yourselv as your exp grows. Once done i check if the current setting suit my project requirements and if everything goes well i could decide to change an actor position in this phase...not a facial expression or some kind of mimic). Then i start to draw pixel by pixel, object/actor by object/actor with an accuracy of mmm like 70-90% depends on how much detail i wanna put on later. Once finished i check the result...that's now already good to be released actualy...but i like details so i add another step that's the detail insertion and it concerns textures as well as small details. I didn't charge a single gp from Chii. I told him to pay me whatever he thought it was good. He gave me the subject and i loved it so i realy enjoyed this project...

I'm personaly quite busy on other projects so i might skip giving it a shot for some time...That means u can do whatever you want of that image....remaining in pixelart :) Have fun

i made something like that on photoshop 2. Didn't like it much so i never used...gotta say that as an avatar it's very very nice :) 8.5/10

well i personaly don't like abstract sigs that much. 80% of them are more or less the same standard derived from a bunch of tutorials that keeps reviving itself now and then...adding this...changing that...but still the same concept i could see 5 years ago (not here, in general). It requires photoshop and internet explorer to make a nice abstract sig and some effects/Styles are so much abused nowadays...The render abstract are a bit better still they soffer of the "already seen" problem. Then come the brushed abstracts. Those are my favourite cause u can see a certain personal style in them...even if referrals are still visible. But for sure they have their own pulsing heart inside. (even cause ppl that makes them usualy work hard and gets nice results). And then comes pixelart...I'm totaly new to this style but as u should have seen on these boards i got a bit addicted to it. I learned from nothing. 0 tutorials. 0 referrals. Just opened Mspaint and started drawing according to my past ages lasting experience of free hand works. (dunno how much that helps...but it's still more similar to pixel art than abstracts are...) Of course u need to put a lot of effort in those works to achieve a nice result and starting a project it's more like a personal challange to go over your limits since there's no way to get backup in pixelart. No way to cover mistakes but redraw...and so on. Plus no1 can copy you since style is very very very personal in any of the graphical expressions....drawing...facial expressions....colors...themes....and in pixel stuff i think the gap between some1 that works hard and some1 that wastes a couple of minutes is way wider than it is on other forms of digital art. I gotta recognise there's a trend for pixel sigs , whose quality is very variable, but that's maybe cause some ppl noticed how good they could be. Plus fresh air is always welcome i think... Then we don't have to forget that every1 has a partciular tast for arts...still i personaly can't admire something not my fav style that's however done with a lot of work and labour.

Very very nice. Smooth and simple...great for a banner. Fix the diagonal text still...cause it's pretty hard to read. Good job

I think there's an universal rule out there i overheard from a sage old monk in Tibet... It says : "Whatever font u choose, it has to be the wrong one" :shock:

Yeah gif has smaller size...still remember that compressing an image into a gif has a serious limit : 256 colors max to be used, plus if u don't compress them with an adaptative algorithm (Depends on the quality of the graphic program u'r using)some colors could get distorted in order to fit the standard color schemes. An hint to keep the gif size smaller and smaller is to try to use the least number of colors you can. Hope that helps :)

Don't worry mate...different styles satisfy different people tastes. There's nothing bad on your comment. Since u'r not a pixel fun i'd simply consider the tech one for which i thank you. :)

Very nice brushing (maybe the top highlighted section is 2 extended) Text and the lil Z like lineworks around it needs to be fixed. I know every1 has to hear that at least once in his work ratings...still the font doesn't match the bg i think...and well...it looks bad itself...more like u made it pixel by pixel...a design choice i don't think matches the sig theme. This rating follows my personal taste parametres rather than some technical problems i spotted since it's realy lovely. Maybe u can agree on something and change it a bit. Good luck on the contest. Best one gets it all !

Try a dark yellow-brown/orange scheme to make it creepy maybe ? :twisted:

U should decide where the light comes from before applying the shades :shock: and maybe shade all the body...the head looks a bit flattened without her noticable shadings. Still nice work. I personaly don't like the Fan-arts in general cause they can't stand the original ones and the drawing teqnique isn't my favourite one (i'm for very busy hand-drawings) but i must say u did draw this very nicely. Plus Cloud is my favourite FF char behind Sephi...or actualy FFVII was a masterpiece...or both...whatever :roll: 8/10 Rinoa's one looks a bit...erm..well doesn't look as nice as the other :) But i know girls are so hard cause it's so easy to spoil their expression and female appeal with a couple wrong lines...*HINT HINT* the shoulder is totaly wrong...think about body proportions...looks like deformed this way...(still don't think i can make any good women hand-drawing...)

Nice work merging all those pics together. My digital camera has an handy option to make panoramics the easy way (up to 5 of them) by showing you the borderzones of previous photo...i suppose u went that way 2. HINT HINT : If u have a solid, plain basement for the camera u can get them perfectly matching without photoshop. Other than that...back on topic, i was saying it's a nice work. There's just a couple zones where we can see your work without going on the "i'm the busting-you moron" mode. ONLY BIG PROBLEM : That beach sux....where's the bikini chicks crowd ??? :P :twisted: :P :twisted: :P :twisted:
