agreed i never used to use renders when i started here - i was totally agaisnt them, coz i considered it stealing ppls work, but it livens up the sig in a lot of cases. ps. i getm y from planetrenders where ive registered and r liable to take them >)_(<

i got some sexy steel/chrome text effect tuts somewhere. if u want i can pm u some... and to feathr u.... 1)take ur render to top or near top of layers 2)select ur select tool thingy (top left corner of tools palette) and ctrl>click ur render layer to select it 3) hit ctrl+shift+i to inverse selection 4) with ur tool selected, right click the render on ur pic, and select feather. choose 5-10 pixels, hit ok, and press the delete button. Wa la! (ps if u wanna sharpen ur render 1st it doesnt make a diff)

if its too big (as mine usually are) i do save for web, gif for animation, jpeg for normal, and i lower the quality untill i cant get it any higher without breaching 40kb

feather is the way i do it, it makes the render look like a part of the sig, not a solid block on top of it.

render isnt blended n looks a bit poor quality (but i dont care, i dont like england xD) and the text needs to liven up a bit

how did you make THAT above 30kb? its a few clouds + red, and a pish poor render, with NO blending. =\ and the text.... bleugh edit: before you do ANYTHING you should start out doing tutorials to get to know what certain filters do, and how to put things together. i know im not the best, im not even good compared to some guys here at sig making, but i like te ones i make ^_^ im still learning. i suggest u get some brushes and play about with them.
